Is it possible that Hendo could be the surprised move to pick up Buddy, Hendo has the height, pace and athleticism to go with Buddy

why Sellar and not Talia

My understanding is that Sellar has not played in defence all year, whereas Talia has been playing CHB and his last two weeks have been very good playing this role

Is there any news on Bock as there seems to be conflicting reports on his fitness
Sellar played in defence most of NAB CUP and did ok .
Like all Crows supporters hope Talia going to be a star for us but as Craigy keeps saying not going to give players gift games and as both Sellar and Talia really doing ok only then believe will go for experience for this game .
Remember for following game after week off both Bock and Davis will be ok. I think Talia will bwe a better player than Sellar long term but feedback not ready yet

In: Sellar/Bock, Symes, Henderson/Wright

For the future I'd love to see Henderson get a run on the wing and in defence at some stage this year...has the raw attributes to be a damaging utility. Could see him as an Otten-type in defence and if he can run thru the middle then it bolsters the area we probably lack in terms of quality depth.

Would have to look into it more deeply but if the tall/small balance out of whack (ie Hendo not seen as a running option) then perhaps Wright could be a chance.

I don't think Wright is even on the senior list. I don't think we get the free rookie elevation until after the R12 game.

Andrew McLeod has been listed as indefinite on the injury list but is expected to 4 - 6 weeks.

Is Jaensch any chance of coming in this week?
Is there a chance of him playing this week for Adelaide - yes
To burn a trade to get him in Dream Team - no
To put him on the field from the bench - no
To trade sideways to get someone playing - argueable
To upgrade because you have the $ - yes

Looks like it will be a fine day and a fast track going by the long range forecast for Launceston Saturday which is a relief given Tassy's unpredictable weather this time of year. :thumbsu:

Launceston Saturday, Minimum 0 C, Maximum 12 C...Frost then Sunny, Wind WNW 12 km/h.

If Bock is not available I would select Talia in front of Sellar to play a defensive role

1. Talia is a natural defender, played as a defender for most of his junior football and has been playing at CHB for South Adel

2. Form, it can be debated that at this point of time Talia's form at sanfl level is stronger that Sellar's

This game of chinese whispers regarding Talia's form has resulted in his form being exxagerated beyond actuality.

His form has been average and unspectacular, even solid would be too kind.

Good luck to the kid but people are going to extreme lengths to try and talk themselves into it.

come one
there's not THAT much hype and exageration of what he's doing
he's on par with Young at the same stage, and we all know what we were hearing about him last year

i wouldn't say exaggerated. Young is currently injured...and if Bock is unfit to play this week, then there are limited options, with Phil Davis also out with concussion/shoulder. Options are basically Talia or Sellar, but Sellar hasn't been playing in defense in the SANFL, and Talia hasn't been too bad. we're obviously ALL really hoping Bock is fit to play, but worse comes to worse, i think fans wouldn't mind seeing Talia in action.

Which is the very last thing any coach worth his salt would use as the basis for selection.

If Talia gets selected, then it will be because he has earned a game, given Craig's correct philosophy that he won't gift games.

The average punter here is saying that his form at this stage doesn't really justify selection at AFL level at this very early stage of his career.

If they are right then he's not the man for the job this week against players of the calibre of Franklin or Roughead.

Quite frankly, Sellar probably isnt eiether so let's hope like hell that Bock is fit.

However, if it had to be one of Sellar or Talia it would be Sellar for me at this stage as he has played AFL footy and was beginning to perform at the end of last year.

I think the 3 ins will be Bock/Sellar, Symes and Cook.

Symes has earned a spot wth excellent form with Centrals in his 3 matches there, and Cook comes back into the mid-field in place of Edwards.

I'm from Devonport (will be going to the game) and if long range Tasmanian weather predictions ever came true i'll bite my balls.

I think this is the way AFC will go, but I still don't rate Cook as his kicking isn't up to AFL standard. Will not make it long term unless he works on his kicking & should be practising at SANFL level, rather than burning us with turnovers.

Also really fustrated by the lack of output from Porplyzia. Yes, he obviously is not 100%, so can we afford to carry him as a passenger in the modern game? Not IMO. Would be better off playing someone like Henderson & Porps gets himself right. Don't want another Knights scenario.

Very good point KM. Porps has to be dropped, not only for the better of the side but for Porps himself. Shadow of what he was last year. Horribly out of touch and stinks as a footballer at the moment. We would have got the same if not equal output form Hendo last week. Time for the Porpus to have a rest back in the SANFL, get his body right (if that is what is holding him back), get some touch and then look to bring him back after the mid season break.

Agree about the Porpoise. He looks lost and frustrated, can't kick the goals he could kick with his eyes closed last year and that marking attempt last week was cringe worthy. That said, I don't think he has used up all of his credits from last year. Look for a refreshed Porps after the break.

Cook shouldn't get a game, hasn't met the criteria to just come straight back in. Hendo is more likely.

How do you know that?

Mate - you can't tell me Sellar wouldn't be 'gifted' a game this weekend any less/more than Talia?

Sure he's played at the level but lets not confuse 'available' with 'earnt his spot'. For either of Talia or Sellar.

I'd prefer to see Talia come in if the opportunity presents itself because we need to look at him this year. Assuming Bock/Davis are back amongst it the week after - this might be his only chance.
