sidebottom wtf u smoking no way in hell id drop him
3 outs are obvious brown fraser and mcarthy....jonno may come in for someone prolly blair i guess but i woud like blair given a shot :D

The second half of last week is the only time in the last 10 games Sidey's been anything but a passenger.

His decision making has been poor for weeks and his brain is working in slow motion. He simply takes too long to decide what he's gonna do with the pill and it kills our momentum. Blair has been MILES better than Sidebottom.

N Brown, Fraser, McCarthy and Steele are the only ones in line for omission IMO. Goldsack's the easy choice but he's had a couple of poor games and that's it. He was magnificent before that.

Sidebottom just doesn't do enough to warrant selection. His goals dropped off long ago and his disposal going into 50 is dicey at best. He is a great prospect but it's not the time of the season to be picking on potential. Johnson has had a much better season.

Davis plays well against the Dogs. 6 goals against them this year. If there really is a 'horses for courses' policy then he's gotta stay in.

IN: L Brown, A Didak, B Johnson, S Prestigiacomo
OUT: J Fraser, S Sidebottom, J McCarthy, N Brown

Sidebottom's played 1 good game in 10 weeks. I don't care if people consider him a "good finals player". That's based on 1 juniors game and 1 final last year. His form does not warrant selection and Davis looked promising this week. If we're serious about picking on form, Sidebottom should be nowhere near the team at the moment.

I was at the game and thought Sidebottom to be one of our better players, as he was last week. Perhaps you need to more carefully note the excellent link up work he does around the wings and middle. I guarantee he was one of our better possession winners. He was last week ... and the week before .. and ... .

Interesting my combinations has not yet had a mention:

In: Didak, Prestigiacomo, L.Brown, B.Johnson,

Out: McCarthy, N.Brown, Fraser, Davis

With Davis as first emg. Have Blair slightly edging Davis at this stage. Goldsack's form at AFL level has been outstanding and shouldn't be dropped. Sidebottom while his 2nd half to the season has been ok without being great his past 2 weeks have been better than most, so losing his spot now would be a big surprise.

For mine it's out of Blair/ Davis for the final spot.

Thank God you're not in charge.

Leon is integral.

I would have Fraser out and Leroy in. Fraser was ok today, in fact I think that if this was last year some would have gone so far to have given him a toast, its just having been used to jolly carrying the ruck this year we have a new set of 'standards'. I think Fraser was good in patches and with more time at AFL level could get back to his best, but he doesn't do enough of the one per centers and isn't hard at it like brown. While Mick might toss up the idea of playing Jolly Fraser and Brown I think that this would be a mistake as we know what happens when we are top heavy. For me Brown must come in, we missed his aggression and hardness at the ball today.

If presti is fit I'd bring him in for N. Brown, Brown was well beaten today and while he has been good in the games he has played this year he has been found out in some cases and presti just adds that cool head down back that I think we missed today. Dids and Johnson hopefully come back in as well, McCarthy needs to be dropped but anyone else who is dropped will be stiff.

It is important to note that today we had a shocking game but only lost by three points so we must have done some things right.

The 4 ins are obvious.

3 outs are obvious.

Just leaves Blair or Goldy as the 4th out. Goldy's touch is poor since returning from a week off so I think he might be the one, although generally he has plenty to match up on against the Doggies.

This. Presti, Didak, Brown and Didak in, while Brown, Fraser, McCarthy out, with a tough decision on the fourth out (depending if all those four are right to come in)

Agree with rose jam, we have 4 obvious inclusions in Presti (if ready), Didak, L. Brown and Johnson and 3 obvious outs in Fraser, N. Brown and McCarthy. I think that leaves a stalemate between Blair, Goldsack or Davis to come out. Blair has been a gun for such a small player and deserves a spot. Goldsack has been great for most of the season but has had two poor to average games in the last two weeks. Davis had a fairly good game today but hasn't really shown his 2009 all-australian form all season and also doesn't have a great record in Finals but helps us balance our forward line greatly and does have the x-factor.

I think if we have all four obvious inclusions come in to the side then it will be a very tough decision for the coaching staff to choose between those three.

B: Toovey - Prestigiacomo - Maxwell
HB: Shaw - Reid - O'Brien
C: D. Thomas - Swan - Wellingham
HF: Didak - Cloke - Beams
F: Davis - Dawes - Macaffer
FL: Jolly - Pendlebury - Ball
INT: Sidebottom - Blair - Johnson - L. Brown

I'm not 100% on Goldy going out though due to MM and his horses for courses.

Dogs have lots of rangey medium size forwards (Jones, Grant, Hill, Higgins) who Goldsack could be a good match for.

Davis will play as he has done well against Doggies this year.

Blair could be unlucky one to make way for Johnson if it isn't Goldy.

I think for this match, yes.

IN: Presti, Dids, Johnno & Anvil
OUT: Nate Brown, JMac, Josh & Blair

Blair in for Goldy for remainder of year.

I laugh at anyone who still calls for Blair to be dropped... Seriously...

Jonesy nailed the changes in the second post.

In: Presti, L.Brown, Didak and Johnson
Out: N.Brown, Fraser, McCarthy and Goldsack

This is just about on the money you'd think, although, as much as I'd like to see him dropped this week, Goldsack may get a reprieve due to a different looking dogs forward line for height these days.

You'd like to get Presti back for Hall, and then you have Liam Jones who we can't underrate because he has loads of talent, but Reid could exploit him, and then you have Grant whom Goldsack would probably be perfect for.

This part is why I think Goldsack will be retained. I'm pretty surprised there is such a push for him to go out to be honest. All in all I'm 100% convinced that he is be in our best 22. His form at AFL level has validated it. Really in my view the ideal matchup for Grant also. So I see no reason why he shouldn't be in our side.

Last place for mine is down to Blair/Davis. Davis might get first crack, and if he has a poor 1st round then expect Blair to come straight back in. But who knows. Both could play if Wellingham goes out for a week or if Didak or other is not right to go.

With the WBD midfield in questionable health with Cooney out, then questions over Griffen I would almost suggest have Davis because there is less of a need to load up the midfield rotation and we could put more energy into adding to our forwardline.

But those saying Davis is a lock. Remember this week he was only listed as an emg and only came in because B.Johnson went out last minute. And with players out McCarthy was selected over him in the initial 22, so I wouldn't call him a lock. No way. 50/50 for mine.

I'm really concerned that Presti will not come up and that is one of our most vulnerable positions.
Nathan Brown hasn't shown me that he can do the job yet.

If Presti doesn't come up, and we win, can he come back in to a prelim 'cold'?

With Presti you always know what you're going to get, even after a month off he still comes back and does his role as the human blanket.

I think it's you that doesn't watch close enough.

His second half against Adelaide was great. Other than that he's barely done anything in nearly half a season. People are talking about Blair going out but in the 6 or 7 games they've played in the same team, only once has Blair not been the better player. Blair has the added ability of being able to genuinely go into the centre to provide Ball some chop out, has a bit more dash about him and at the moment looks more likely to kick a goal or two. Goldsack, the other possible choice has had 2 poor games which is a lot less than what Sidey has had. Unlike Sidebottom though, Goldsack is a specific role player and is a vital cog in our team when he is up and about. I like Steele but he is simply not adding to the side in any meaningful way at the moment. He is being carried.

Sidebottom gets it but he takes too long to move with it which kills our momentum. Unless he's crumbing it (which he hasn't done much of for a while now) it's like he doesn't consider what he is going to do with the ball until he gets it. He then stops, looks up, waits and a fast break and an open forward line has suddenly become a massive flood. It's not his skills (which are very good), it's his but bad decision making that has killed his form in the last couple of months. It's hardly surprising as a second year bottom aged recruit with a small body but he hasn't justified his position in the team. He's got 17 goals for the year but only 2 since Round 13, he's hardly a ball magnet, doesn't possess great pace, etc. If he isn't in form he's not the kind of player who should be in the team on hope and 1 U18 game and 1 interstate final is hardly a great sample to use if labeling him a "big game player".

This but I got the feeling that one of Presti or Didak wont come up.

Did anyone catch what Hird and Healy said after the North V Melbourne game.
They went to the Collingwood V WB game and Healy said "No Didak".
Getting tired of these rumours. Just wish the club would come out and say what was going on. Either to dismiss these rumours or confirm.
