I just really hope if we get Sydney, the fact that their stars such Goodes, Jetta, Rohan, LRT will be just as fresh as we are after some time on the sidelines wont hurts us. Everyone says they are lacking match fitness. But as we saw with macca last week, champs like that are handy even on one leg. Im so nervous, i want our boys to make the Grand final so so so so badly.

True, but when there is more than one of them underdone and in the side it starts to really hurt the team, which was evident last Friday when they played the Hawks. I don't think "fresh" would be the right word to describe guys who have barely played this year leading up to the finals.

And the AFL considers they're making huge inroads in NSW.

I still reckon GWS will go guts up and be a financial disaster.
Not really, it's complicated. The best sporting sources (channel 9 & The Daily Telegraph) are extremely conservative. Hence they pander to what they know sells.

Secondly, regarding GWS, it will be a massive success. I've lived in Sydney for close to a decade now and the reason League has dominated for so long in two fold.
1. It pits suburb against suburb. This place is a city of villages and people love to hate on each other. No more hate exists outside of the city/beaches vs western Sydney. It's a battle of classes.
2. The mums. Grassroots support begins if you get the mums on board. Auskick is the best little league in the land and the AFL has gone hard out west and the support can be seen already.

AFL success in Sydney is coming and it will be insanely good for the game. Some of the best athletes in the country merge from Western Sydney

Rested is the term Roosy uses .
It worked beautifully for Geelong when they managed / rested Brad Ottens before their finals campaigns.

That's why Ross did what he did for the Saints game.
Of course it's different coming back from injury but still delivers the same benefit.

Aren't they only attracting 5- 6000 people to the games ?
If it takes a generation to catch on, my argument is that's too long.

People are interested but no one will watch a team getting done by 100 points every game. Look at the attendance spike from Suns in their 1st to second to third year

Same with iPhone 4S?
lol, maybe not. I think there is a way to do it (maybe hold down on the link until it pops up a set of options to cut, and then hold down in the textbox until it pops up the option to paste? I don't have an iPhone so I am not full bottle on the particulars of the sorcery involved.

We'll have to agree to disagree I suppose. IMO coming back from a 4+ week injury is nothing like coming back from a 1 week injury or rest.

Goodes out for the season just announced, so won't have to worry about him

Sydney will win easy... I just hope Carlton beat the piss out of them in the process.

For us it will be out Sheridan (love that kid) in Johnson.

It makes me sick too. I wanted them to take care of the Tigs last week as well. Felt so dirty
I was visiting Sydney and Melbourne the last 10 days (little work and almost no pleasure ) bugger all about AFL in Sydney and almost nothing about the Dockers in Melbourne .
Caught up with some Port fans at the MCG and got to sit in the members there with Geelong fans everywhere .
I didn't really care who won the game but glad that Geelong in the second half at least hit a few targets and got the job done.

Port Adelaide will worry some teams next year .

Saw a channel 7 sports reporter out the front of the MCG before going in and while he was waiting for his time slot and him had he asked Demetrio why the game was being held at the MCG and not at Simmons Stadium like we had to do . Typical dumb ass reporter Put on a Big Smile and Nodded.
Obviously the mike wasn't plugged in.

I ran into a couple Docker fans and the port fans started singing our club song when ever they saw the hat and scarf ,I think for them it was another way to stir the pot and get the Geelong fans edgy.

Having watched our reserves on the weekend, I expect LRT to play seniors, but I think Rohan may not - he is still having leg pains and still has a rod in there, and I dunno that he can play a full game.

Goodes is definitely done for the year, they've already said so. Plus he was in the stands tucking into a meat pie on Sunday.
