Changes for Q Clash

Probably still a bit early for this one but we may as well start it up I reckon.

I would like to see them persist with Close but it would not surprise me if Paine replaced him if Paine plays well in the reserves. We went in a bit to tall for this one I think and even though Lisle wasn't to bad I would rather Harwood play if he is fit. That is 2 changes and leaves just the Rocky inclusion. I thought Aish and Taylor both played very well and deserve to keep their spots. Paparone didn't play the best game but I think we should persist with him and he isn't a like for like for Rockliff. I would drop Bewick back even though I am a fan of Bewick and I think he can add something to the side. I just think he is number 23 or 24 on our list right now and he is slightly not good enough to make the best 22.

I think these changes would result in us fielding our strongest team so far and it is close to best 22 with only the likes of McGrath, McGuane, and Staker on the sidelines through injury.

Leppa mustn't rate him at all if that is the case, especially on the back of how badly out of form most of the key defenders are in. Obviously those guys can take their position for granted if that is the case.

Golby has to be dropped. Terrible today. Almost expect him to turn it over every time he touches it. Let him gain some confidence in Reserves. Close also out for Paine. Rocky comes in. Do we bring Raines in for Ablett? Has done a decent job in previous years. Not sure Leppa is keen on the likes of Raines and Maguire. Bewick needs to stay in and play forward pocket.

Also the trend is Gold Coast games become a grind with the humid conditions and they are clearly a quick side - do we drop Lisle and bring in another running player - Crisp perhaps?

I like the idea of getting games into the kids but having little to no impact on games and getting subbed out of games can destroy confidence. That's why close is out for me. Goose in and send Merret forward. Let robbo play off half back and see how he goes. If Harwood is fit it would be him in and robbo out.

I love the way Taylor performed today and feel he has earnt his spot.

Brown has the most marks inside 50 for the competition so somethings working.

How many consecutive games do you think we are expecting out of Aish and Taylor?

Rockliff for Lisle is the only change i will make. What is with everyone ragging on Merret and co.... Yes they are not performing their best but Merret has just come back to playing footy after a rather large injury. Clarke in my opinion is the best performing of the three. Patfull did good and bad things. Remember new game plan and structures that will take some time for them to learn. They definitely improved from last week, and as long as they keep improving their performances I don't have a reason to complain.
