It'd probably help if Lycett didn't jump 5 minutes too early at every bounceVardy was better than Lycett on the day against Brissie on Sunday.

Must confess a bit of a love in with O.Allen, so bias may be surfacingWas talking things through at work and a bit left field and very much not likely to happen but I was so impressed by O. Allen, both on the weekend and in a defensive role against GWS. I wouldn't be shedding too many tears if LeCras went out, our forward line would consist of elite crumbing with Rioli and Ryan, the defensive pressure of Cripps, elite key position forwards in Darling and Kennedy and Oscar would be the third tall stretching the defensive unit. Would obviously lose some football smarts with LeCras out but traditionally he hasn't produced in the big games.
Watching Schofield play I think he has a lot of football craft and would be an ideal match up for Cox, not sure we need the 3 talls in defense and maybe Barrass is unlucky to miss out.
The most likely replacement for LeCras in the future(especially short term) is Venables. DV is made to play that HFF/mid role that LeCras has been playing under Simspon. Another preseason working on his tank/game and I can see DV becoming a 20-25 goal and 16- 18 possession HFF.Was talking things through at work and a bit left field and very much not likely to happen but I was so impressed by O. I agree but Lycett has been better then vardy for 90% of the other gamesVardy was better than Lycett on the day against Brissie on Sunday.
But 700 or 800K a year good?I agree but Lycett has been better then vardy for 90% of the other games
Nah I reckon Venables will become a genuine engine room midfielder who is also dangerous around goals. No I'm not saying that I'm just saying he is t in the worse 4 rucks in the compBut 700 or 800K a year good?
Possibly having to play either the swans or an almost full strength GWS in a semi final scares me even more.IF we lose, then we would face a six day break into our prelim.
How shit is that.

I don't think that will happen for a few years and a reason why i said in the short term. Think he'll go from HFF/mid to mid eventually.Nah I reckon Venables will become a genuine engine room midfielder who is also dangerous around goals. Shuey should be the template.
We're going to need mids far more than HFFs in the short-term. We should aggressively push Venables in that direction.I don't think that will happen for a few years and a reason why i said in the short term. Think he'll go from HFF/mid to mid eventually.
I think we will smash the pies. I just think it’s bad planning by the league (as usual).
Nah I like weekend foooty
Thursday night is shit it really is

I like it too.
I hate 6 day breaks though. I’d prefer our schedule to give us the best chance of a flag above all else.
I agree with that, I think he's just an average ruck.No I'm not saying that I'm just saying he is t in the worse 4 rucks in the comp
Venables will roll through the middle more often than what he currently doing but i think he'll spend most of his footy up forward in the next couple years. We still have Ah chee, Brayshaw and Ainsworth and we should keep Parto if Gaff leaves. We're going to need mids far more than HFFs in the short-term. If we assume Gaff leaves at the end of the year, I think about where the improvement might come from to help us fill that hole. Venables to the midfield, even if not full-time, is one possibility.

Plus we should be getting a couple mids early if we lose Gaff and/or Lycett.
