And that was when we also had Gaff, so we could afford it.
Right now, Sheed is basically playing Gaff's role as an outside linkman. I don't really see the rational behind dropping him if we aren't bringing anyone in to replace him, going by your ins.

He is in the side now as the extra midfielder to replace Gaff and had 31 possessions against Melbourne and 30 possessions against Brisbane.

I know they'll drop Allen and Schofield, but if it was me I'd be leaving Sheed out and keeping our kids with huge upsides like Allen and Venables in as a priority. Sheed has reached his ceiling, and it's pretty low. The pies will make him pay for his lack of speed and tackling intent

He has been our worst performing midfielder since he's come back in, a few 30 possession games doesn't change the fact he has no impact on the game. I do agree he won't be dropped though, we don't have any midfielders really performing in the two's and I don't buy into having our small forwards take on the Gaff role considering they are still very young and we really need them to perform in the forward line.
In his finals career (6 games), Sheed has averaged: 16 disposals (5 cont, 2 clearances, 57% efficiency), 2 tackles, 3 marks, 2 clangers per game. He's kicked a solitary finals goal.
So he's a good shot for a PB finals effort!

He reminds me of a certain curly haired witches hat who opposition teams would use to launch their counter attacks. He's slow as treacle, his footskills are questionable and opposition players cruise past him like he's not there.
The worst part is he can't even turtle tackle.
Sheed won't be dropped unless its for a mid(Ah Chee).
Pies have a good midfield fed by one of the best ruckmen in the comp.
While i like the addition of youth this season, low possession HFF would hurt us more than Sheeds odd shank and missed tackles.

Seeing Treloar likely to be named has made me nervous, coupled with the fact they travelled over for Freo game two weeks ago. Far out I hope we're switched on early.

They have a stronger team (Cox, Treloar) and we have a weaker team (no Gaff) than last time. Genuine 50/50 game.
On the flip side they won’t have Scharenberg and we won’t be down a rotation for half the game

Hi Dale. Great name. Just not as good as Dave. Playing youngsters. Great. I would have tried to slot in a few more a month ago. I’m a big supporter of the Petch and O. We lose Gaff and NicNat who only play 1.5 quarters last time - gain Ryan
Plus its at Optus - so I think its all pretty even
