Sydney's the day before the AFL game, I'd imagine it was reduced numbers, Tobin Cox and someone else were playing for Sydney as well.I'd rather woodcock. He was one of Geelongs best players in the 2017 finals series.

I think they're the right changes. There's a strong case for Woodcock instead of Mots but I think they've chosen the right way should this be the selections.
Either Mots or Woodcock > Sutcliffe
Houston > Bonner
Motlop will tear it up against a spud side like Norf

Motlop's last name is Motlop and he played for the mighty Geelong Cats c'mon any good coach would pick him
Inconsistent Motlop is still 10 possessions which is what Sutcliffe got last week
The difference between Woodcock and Motlop, is that with Woodcock you get almost guaranteed effort and a small amount of x-factor, that might just create some havoc on a given day if the opposition has its hands full with an in-form Gray, Rozee and Butters.
With Motlop you have more x-factor potential, but the reality that at best he'll only play 1 good game in a month. The gap from his best to worst is enormous and he becomes a defensive liability more weeks than not, even if he's not doing anything offensively.
There's a higher than 50% chance in any given week that Motlop does nothing offensively or defensively, other than stand the mark after his opponent leads into an uncontested mark.

Unless there are injuries I think we only need to make one change. Get Houston back in and concentrate on getting the likes of Rozee, Duursma, Marshall, Burton match fit and in form. I do not see the point of making changes for the sake of changes three games away from finals. Settle the side down.
Sutcliffe won’t be dropped after 1 week for the person he replaced. He played a reasonable game.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Motlop in but not for Sutcliffe

You are missing one vital stat though...
Steven Motlop 179 games.
Boyd Woodcock 4 games.
On that basis I expect a lot more from Motlop.
I would rather play Garner in the forward pocket.
Would consistently outmark his opponent and apply defensive pressure.
I would also trust him to give 100%
