I reckon next week will be the side we want to take into finals.

The best thing, is when we talk about Motlop, Bonner, Sutcliffe, Woodcock, Farell, Ebert, Hoff etc - we are talking about our 19-22 players.

They ain’t gonna win you the game, and you hope to hell they don’t lose it for you.

But really for us most games are defined by our first line midfield. Lycett, Boak, Wines, Rocky. Sure the others are important, and I love our options to roll in there, but I dare say if 2 out of 4 of these boys play badly, get beaten, don’t defend well, or kick badly we will struggle against the good teams.

Ladhams better be an automatic in next week.

Otherwise Ken has made finals and secured his contract, then gone back to preferred strategy of dropping a key forward for a fleet of smalls. Hopefully it's because MG still isn't 100%, because otherwise he should have been in.
Which key forward did he drop?

"Defender Joel Garner has been named among the emergencies, alongside forward Boyd Woodcock, first-year player Miles Bergman and midfielder Willem Drew."

It probably doesn't rate as much more than a practice session, but Woodcock and Bergman (if not more of the abovenamed) played in the scratchy vs the Crows today.

After watching that Brisbane game I wonder how much the decision to play a night grand final in Brisbane effected our decision to play an extra small in attack?

It looked very slippery.

Perhaps we are practicing for the big dance?

They were sweating so much that I was wondering if it was raining.

Full on struggle in the dew. Wondering how some of our guys are going to cope with it.

So for me it looks like Ebert and Westhoff will retire at season's end. Both fantastic players in their prime but a combo of injury, form and younger players improving past them has them on the rocks. Really have to wonder how much of a part they will play in our season from here.

Big danger game - North look pretty decent on paper and should be doing better than they are. We are more than capable of losing this one, our form is ordinary at best and we won't need to be far off our game to give them a sniff.
Metricon is very slippery at night, I can imagine our players slipping over and fumbling all night...I think this is going to be a real struggle.

I honestly don't think we've had a situation like Sutcliffe before, like an old guy who isn't good at football and provides nothing short and long term but considered best 22.

Like we've played old finished blokes or fringe players but they had reputation or age in their backing.

Sutcliffe is legitimately a zero

One player has a serious knock to the head, 7 disposals + 3 tackles and gets omitted on form.

Another player has premature baldness, collects 10 disposals + 1 tackle and is rewarded another game.

Ken celebrates his extension with another logic defying selection. Omit them both or play them both FFS.

Lol so basically if Lycett pulls out before the game we have a ruck combo of Cutliffe/Wines?

Actually hilarious

He kicked four in the scratch match. Will be back in the team soon.... (I think he is done but also think Ken will have one more fling with him)

Hope not. Could cost us a final. Sentimental passengers are not a good investment. Let's face it his worse is a shit load different from his best. And we know what we've seen more of this year.

Man it’s a struggle reading this topic. We’re top, doing well and I feel like it’s win or curtains.

come on lads brighten up the day. A win isn’t far away!!!

lets start forecasting prelims and GF,IMO this is half the problem we suck at home. The players feed off the supporters tension

Interesting take. The ol "chicken or the egg" scenario. What came first? The supporter tension or the players sucking under pressure.
Harden up I say. All teams have grumpy arseh*le supporters like me and most of BF.

After a relatively cold winter here it’s only just starting to get back to some better weather, literally occurred on the first day of spring and has continued. (I know small sample size)

Sutcliffe is the ******* lamest sh*t, seriously.

Nothing against the guy personally but there is no way he's at the level required now or in the future.

Costco Matt Thomas.
