Changes for R4 vs Sydney

OUT: Hansen. Nicoski.
IN: Kennedy. Masten.

Embley to replace Nicoski at half back. Give him an assignment. He looks lost.

Would also be tempting to throw JMAC in for Fletcher and if either Glass or Hunter are injured (they look it) send Spangher to Sydney.

It all seems a little drastic but we won't win games by 'being patient' with certain players. Lets throw them in the deep end and see what comes of it. What is the worst that can happen?

We were lucky to get within 5 goals of Freo today.

Need some dash!

How far away is McNamara from a call-up?
I was at a function in one of the rooms at Subi oval today and McNamara was the "special guest" for this week (basically its a Q&A session with one of the players who is not playing that day). J-Mac said that up until this morning he was in the team to play today (ie, despite being named as an emergency I got the impression that it was always the intention that he would play which I thought was interesting). Can't be far away. My guess is this week against Sydney.

I don't know what you expect from Hansen. The ball was delivered to him either two metres above his head, on top of his head or dribble to him along the ground.

He wasn't the only forward that suffer from shocking disposal from the midfielders. We went two and a half quarters without one ball being delivered in front of any forward to lead into.

I don't understand how a dropped play like Rosa magically comes back into favour.

When he was dropped, it was because he soft, too outside and didn't use the ball well.

Have those problems dissolved in the past fortnight? Or do we just now think that we don't have anyone better?

We've been waiting 3 years for Rosa to get his disposal in order so I doubt he was dropped and told he wouldn't get a game until he fixed it because that would basically be like delisting him.

In my opinion he was dropped because he didn't get enough of the ball in round 1 and was lazy. 2 weeks in the WAFL should cure that.

Rosa should not come back in until he gets rid of those awful-flourbag-hospital-fingerbreaking kicks.

Dont know about anyone else but I expect him to play a team game. You know, pass to people alone in the square instead of taking impossible snaps in the hope he pulls them off to save his arse for another week.

Or lay a tackle, yeah, a tackle would be real good.:thumbsu:

If he is not going to chase, Kennedy deserves a chance to show what he has got.

Fletcher simply has to go, he was woefully uncommitted. Embley ditto.

I have already written this season off as a rebuilding year, so lets see what the younger players have got. Already they are ahead of some of the older players with a simple dash of enthusiasm and a willingness to compete.

OUT: Hansen, Fletcher, Embley
IN: Kennedy, McNamara, Rosa

At least he chases, tackles and gets the ball. Even if he then bombs the ball into the fifty, it would still be an improvement on what Fletcher served up today.

Like I said, he's been with us for 3 or 4 years now and he still isn't a great kick.

If you want to wait for him to be a good kick you'll be waiting several years before you give him another game.

a tackle? a chase? a simple effort when the ball is on the ground? maybe for him to bend over when its needed just you know..once in a while? Trying to run properly instead of with his arms down dragging behind him, which is slowing him down and not creating much of an 'option' (..just a pointless jog), that would be nice. I'd like him to try harder for the mark and to speed up his decision making..it must be the slowest process in the league.

If they all fail, at least a couple of goals a game. Theres no point leading if he is not going to mark it or make a contest or actually try to get the ball if he couldnt get it the first time round. Lynch might not get a couple of goals every game but at least he makes an effort in all the other areas!
Kennedy deserves a game ahead of him.

Do you really want him to be the next RoJo to the fans? I already saw signs today that the majority of supporters are frustrated with him in the same way Rowan made them, although I'd say RoJo did more for the team than what Hansen has been contributing.

Which is exactly what Priddis does. He just bombs the ball or palms of a handball but at least he chases, tackles and gets the ball. So why should Rosa stay out of the team for the same reason Priddis keeps getting a game?

If only our fowards had a chance to mark the ball in front of their faces instead of above their heads leaving the defenders with every chance of spoiling. Delivery into the foward 50 has something to do with Hansen's poor form. He looks like he is scared of reinjuring the hammy to me.

To be fair when that did happen the ball smacked lynch in the head....

I was getting angy at the egales disposal when passing to hansen it is always going over his head, but it has happened soooooooooo many times in 3 games that he must just be miss judging it and running underneath it. DISGRACEFUL effort from him, Fletch and Embley today.

Honestly the trouble right now is that we are playing S-H-I-trout Football - We have this weirdo gameplan that confuses all our supporters but then when they interview Worsfold he is like "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeah I think we did alright"

Come on Woosh!

Start waking up and going skitzo at these blokes!

We need to start well Vs Sydney next week because watching the last quarter if tonights game (Syd V Bris) Sydney over-ran Brisbane at Home.

When we kick the ball forward and a big bloke goes for it and drops it we have no one on the ground to crumb it.

So many times the ball went over the pack for a Freo player to just amble out of defence with the ball - We need Lecca back - that or Fabulous Phil Matera! - He would have probably kicked 4 today :p

OUT: Nickoski, Fletcher, Seaby, Hansen, Stenglien, Embers, Braun, Waters

In: Notte, JMac, Masten, Kennedy, Rosa, Woosha, Suma, Micale......

We have been spoilt for a very long time and the dry season, seasons has began....

Thanks Ben!!!!!!

Rosa usually plays on the wing. Priddis does not, he plays in the middle of it at all times so of course he should win clearances.

Yeah, so Priddis is doing his job. Without him in the midfield Kerr would be the only guy in there winning the hard ball. Priddis is also the best tackler in the team. These two need better support in the midfield. Priddis' kicking isn't the best but he makes up for it in other areas of his game.

Rosa is playing in a role where his finishing needs to be at a higher quality than it currently is. However, I do agree that Rosa would be providing us with more than Fletcher has been.

Yeah by all means Priddis in the 18, definately. I'm not arguing that. Priddis is a MUST for our team. I meant that I don't think people can just say "Rosa should stay out because he just bombs it", when he is not the only player who does that. So why wouldn't these people be calling for Priddis or Hurn to be spoken to about their kicks (or be frustrated by them) when they just 'bomb it'. They just prove that sometimes just bombing it can be a better option.

IMO Rosa would offer more than 3 or 4 of our senior players are offering us at the moment and could be that 'better support' for Kerr and Priddis if he gets another chance. Tis all I'm saying..

There's going to have to be some changes, Embley needs to go because my god he looks so uninterested but maybe, just maybe hes completely unsure, I'm not sure which one my self??? What chance does he have...

Hansen I dunno, isn't playing real well and needs to get out of the side, I have to admit is looking rather crab like. What the hell has happened to him lately??? Not fit enough??? Not entirely sure with this one either.

Nicoski only has pace and basically that's it, no confidence or footy smarts what-so-eva. Skill level at near zero atm. Again another lost cause at this moment. Shame really had so much going for him in 2005, and it appears injuries over the last 2 season have got to him (mentally wise mainly that is).

Braun is looking slow and not so like himself not matter how much effort he puts in. Fletcher is been fletcher of old, that I mean crap like.

This begs the question, what on earth is happening? Its like over the pre-season some players have lost their ability to use a football in a skillful way. Not a good sign, something needs to happen to spark them up again and get them going, dropping players that don't expect it maybe?? Playing more younger players? Th upcoming weeks will be interesting to see. And don't get started on the half forward line, its rubbish at best.

Ah, I see your point.
