Prediction Changes for Rd 1

I know this thread is about player changes for rnd 1, but what about coaching changes. First to go would be Suma, he can fuc# off back to WCE or the WAFL. Next would have to be someone like Prior, I would be amazed if he value adds significantly. Maybe I'm still emotional, but new ideas and players to support Ross are required.

I don't think Pav can go on, output gradually dropping each year achilles problems the last couple of years, Can't chase after defenders and is diabolical below his knees now. Has been an expert at manning the mark and pointing for younger players to man up his man, which is his prerogative as captain and an elder player but it happens to often and doesn't set a good example.
Mcpharlin Just can't. Won't be convinced this time around. Still good but cant get through 24 games.
Johnson is still our best rebound defender but again struggling to get through a season. We are in trouble when he doesn't play or isn't fully fit. I Dont think he should retire or anything, but we should not be relying on him as much, but with mcpharlin gone we will be even more so.
Zac Dawson, shouldn't be getting a game but will because of lack of options.
Taberner has to play because of no other options. Throw footballs at him all summer- hard, mark em or wear em.
Mayne probably the same is a good mark but geez what else does he offer, pressure acts .... god help me. A point is a turn over afaic. Plays because he has to.
Too many average players last night when the heat was on. Teams have figured out that we have less than a handfall of good ball users, so just stand on Hill Mundy, Fyfe, Pierce's rhs and Neales Lhs and everyone else is a 50/50 chance of hitting a target, gross generalisation I know. How do Pierce and Neale get this far as one sided players that have to kick loopy banana passes off their preferred foot because they cant kick at all off their wrong foot. At all.

I've been saying for a long time that Lachie Neale needs to spend the whole pre-season just using his left foot for kicking. His one sidedness is the only thing holding him back and also makes him quite easy to negate.

Dawson, silvagni, Johnson will be main guys with A.pearce also in mix... Dawson and Johnson missed most of 2015 as did silvagni so I'm expecting Pearce to okay every game - I'd like to see mayne moved to back line group and maybe go for bootsma for some cheap depth...

Forwards - we need to go for hard for McCarthy and Hogan and should have some salary relief with pav and mcpharling going...

Mids - go for Bennel and jeta

D.pearce, Suban, muzungu, Barlow all trade bait to help get hogan and McCarthy

We have good mid depth and plenty coming thru, reckon its worth moving a couple of exp miss on to get a key forward or 2

On 6PR today, Langdon said S. Lloyd is off to Geelng, Kirk is going back to Sydney and our fitness guy is leaving too.

Would like us to get Mason Shaw on the cheap from Power, he's 197cm, put on 20kgs in the offseason and is a Freo boy.

It's funny: I've thought we weren't good enough all year.

I'm actually quite excited by the possibilities. Tweaked game plan built around some run and skill, particularly if we can Snag Bennell/Jetta.

I think we will be up there for a few years with our playing list. We just couldn't have it all this year.

On 6PR today, Langdon said S. Lloyd is off to Geelng, Kirk is going back to Sydney and our fitness guy is leaving too.

Would like us to get Mason Shaw on the cheap from Power, he's 197cm, put on 20kgs in the offseason and is a Freo boy.

That would appear to be the exact opposite of what coaches would would like to see leave!!!

Ok, we lose experience and there'll no doubt be some frustrating times early but the improvement in skill is massive, so too is the improvement to pace and smarts so we just need to grit our teeth and take the plunge.

I'd also like to think we can perhaps trade or draft an immediate starter to come in e.g. Adams, Bootsma, McCarthy etc. All plug and play.

When I typed this I was thinking Dawson could have another year to add a bit of solid defence but I'm now thinking that we can't have someone who can't kick in our defense. With the young midfielders coming in Mundy should go back to playing in defense next year and Dawson can play for Peel.

Ross is the boss, the support staff are limited because it's Ross way or gtfo.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as you can see his method can create success but only CEO/Chairman can pressure Ross to evolve the game plan. A new midfield/forward coach will be under Ross instructions and will have no impact unless the game plan changes.

Delisted by Port so won't need to make a trade happen. Could easily use a second or third round draft pick on him but it runs the risk of another club drafting him beforehand. Would fill a definite need for the Dockers.

We badly need a potential A grade forward even if he is only a B grader at the moment. I would love to have a serious crack at McBean. He is behind Riewoldt, Vickery, Griffith at Richmond and we could offer him a starting 22 spot.

3rd tall if we only play Johnson and Dawson, or Mzungu upgrade with Sheridan pushing onto the wing a bit more.

Wasn't there talk earlier in the year about Lenny Hayes possibly getting an assistant job here under Lyon, starting next year?
