With our season gone, I'm disappointed Melksham wasn't dropped to give him a rocket. Wish they had either kept Lee or given Kavanagh another go.

But I've only being calling for his omission for about 6 weeks now, sorry for sounding like a broken record.

He's gone from pocket to pocket, then bench. Maybe sub this week. This is the worlds slowest omission.

Not fussed about the team. We need to show a bit of heart this week to salvage what we have left of this disappointing season.

Its Bags for Lee, and im very happy with that.Like that team, just need the ticker to be switched on.

Rather Melksham than Lee anyday. May as well give Melk as many games as possible now. Good to see Pears and NLM in as well. Looking forward to seeing O'Brien as well.
I've got no idea what melksham offers over lee at this point of time. Lee has come in for his first two games and been in our best 13 odd players both weeks. Melksham has been embarrassing all year. Continuing to play him at this savage is doing absolutely nothing for him... Extremely confusing

Baguley in... No interst there. How he's playing and colyer isn't has got me stuffed. Oh that's right, colyer can't kick.... Even though he's a better kick than half the side.

in some ways this is the most annoying selection yet. i mean, the season is over. we know the problem is with the midfield. so instead of trying out some new guys or trying out some new roles or w/ever, we stick with the horribly out of form Melksham, the horribly out of form Hocking and the never-gonna-be-a-sustainable-option NLM. I'm not saying drop all 3, but it's got me beat why we'd keep all those 3 and drop Lee and ignore Colyer & Kavanagh. NOB playing in the midfield is about the only thing we can look forward to. And that probably won't happen. Ah well, at least Lonergan got dropped.

But I can only assume they focusing on making sure Bendigo make the finals.

i saw the team and many players seem to be selected in strange positions.... I know what the problem is - Hird seems to be sooking a lot lately, so give him the chop, put me in as coach, and I'll at least get the player positions right! Id have them line up;-

Pears Hooker Hibberd
Hardingham Hurley Dempsey
Jetta Hocking Browne
Monfries Gumby Zaka
O'Brien Crameri Davey

T.Bell Watson Stanton

Bench: Heppell Melksham Baguley
SUB: NLM

looks much better right!!

I hope at least we have a crack this week...

R.I.P. Merv - a true champion of the club

I agree that Melky is long overdue to pull on the Bendigo guernsey.. but remember that game last time (may have been last year?) vs Tiges where there was a scuffle and Jake found himself in the middle of a horde of Tiges, that hack Vickery yelling in his ear but ol Jake not giving a fudge while they ripped his guernsey off?

Hope he remembers and gets fired up this friday, we would love to see abit of fire and intensity from him! Cmon Melkshake!

Hocking to blanket Trent "Supposed Brownlow Contender" Cotchin.

Forward line looks top heavy Gumbleton/Crameri/Hurley/O'Brien - Richmond plays a smaller forward line so Pears and Hooker should do.

Team is decent but worry about running power unless Jetta/Davey/O'Brien rotate through the midfield.

I don't recall Baguley being very quick; immediately envisioned Nahas grabbing a loose ball and running away from him.

Would have liked to see Reimers come in.

Don't think fringe selection is going to make much of a difference though, because if we don't find the run and energy that's been missing for so long they'll bury us.
Thought I might be the only one on here. Doesn't bode well for him and that saddens me as I still see a very good player in him and to me he seems to have tried to work hard on his fitness, defense and team things. Guess TRB know better though.

I'll actually be really annoyed if reimers 1. Doesn't get another game this year and 2. Gets traded because ATM you can at least see he is giving it his all compared to some others.

One issue I have is that reimers attitude has always been the issue. Yet now he seems to have gotten it somewhat in order yet still can't get a game.

I've noticed this as well. Perhaps the most obvious sign was the boots issue. 2011: Not allowed to wear the flashy boots, it screams individualism, not the team thing. Reimers loses the flashy boots. 2012: Players get to wear the flashy boots that scream individualism, Reimers can't get a game. I know it's only symbolism, but this kind of thing must be a total head f*** for the guy.

I think hird is putting it all on the players. "you have been getting smashed, now our season is probably over but you show me that you can turn it around". Also remember this is a midfield that was very competitive against Adelaide two weeks ago. It is not a talent problem it is a confidence and mentally getting yourself prepared thing.

One thing we have learnt from our coaches which we saw with Ryder for example is the way we support players . We normally give them a chance. Some people may see it as inaction but I really do believe we give player every chance to prove themselves and to turn it around.

Just watched hird's presser and I got the feeling he was pretty positive going into this game. Mentioned that the team got together for dinner Saturday night, I don't know how often that occurs but I'd say that a bit of soul searching and truths were told then. I really do feel for hirdy though, he would not use injuries as an excuse he just won't say it. Just says they need to get better this week. We have an amazing coach and an amazing captain. I'm feeling really positive about the club ATM.

Then again I'm forever the opitimist.

Reimers hasn't even been name for Bendigo. Maybe he's injured?

The Royal Box, coaching panel.....Wet weather, skills out the door, guts and courage in by the semi load, might be crap standard of footy, but the intensity will be awesome to watch.
