Hmm, I seem to be coming across as anti-de Boer here.

I like de Boer, I think he will be a very good tagger and player for Fremantle. I just don't want to see him playing purely as a stopper. If I remember correctly he was a ball magnet at junior levels. I'd just like to see a bit more of that. Perhaps we will see that in coming weeks, if he starts some midfield tagging jobs.

As I said before, my main reason for considering dropping him was to give guys like Pearce and Foster a go. I also want to see Hinkley stay in the team, and continue to take the game on. Oh and Undertaker, I had my little rant defending Hinkley in the opening post. :)

Out: Murphy, Thornton, Hayden (inj)
In: Campbell, Pearce, Foster

This would be my team for next round:

FB: Suban Tarrant Grover
HB: Duffield McPharlin deBoer
C: Hill Hasleby Ibbotson
HF: Solomon Johnson Peake
FF: Headland Pavlich Walters
F: Sandilands Mundy Schammer
I/C: Clarke Dodd Broughton Pratt

If Hayden is okay to go (unlikely) then Hayden to HBF, deBoer to the bench and Pratty back to Swans... But if Hayden is out, then:

Out: Hayden (inj), Murphy (omit), Thornton (omit), Hinkley (omit)
In: Clarke, Broughton, Pratt, Walters

I'd like to fit Foster in... maybe for Dodd - but it will never happen and 5 changes are too many....

We need to reward WAFL form.. I dont think Pearce is ready, and Walters has been so so..

In Bradley, Broughton
Out Murphy, Hayden

Wanna give more time to Hinkley in the WAFL but not to sure who to bring in.. Maybe Hinkley out - Clarke- In as the third change..

Personally I'd give Hinkley another week. At least he was getting the ball for a change and running (sort off) with it. Yes, his disposal was ordinary but I'd rather Harvey set him a challenge to step it up. There are more than enough senior blokes who should be looked at first - we are rebuildimg aren't we?

Out: Murphy, Grover and Hayden (inj.)

In: Clarke, Broughton and Walters

He's still learning. Just knowing that he can already do a decent shut-down job on someone is more than enough reason to keep him in the team ATM. Not having to rely on Ibbo, Schammer and/or Hill etc for a tagging job is a good thing. As he gains more experience he'll start backing himself to win more of the ball, until then we should let him develop. The Pig won't become Brad Sewell overnight, but he'll get there.

Murphy - OUT! OUT! OUT! AND STAY OUT!!
Hayden - Out if injured
Hinkley - Out if Hayden manages to stay in the side

Broughton - In
Walters/Pratt/Ruffles - In

Good game by Headland today.:thumbsu:
I beg to differ, yes DJ did a couple of nice thing a couple of strong tackles but the most part was average. Everytime he got the ball all he wanted to do was shoot for goal when there were other options. In the last qtr just bombing it long in to the 50, I wuldn't drop him but he needs to get team orienated again.

Clearly not being at the ground you didnt notice but de Boer did an awesome job against Wells after he toweled up Hill at the start of the second quarter. If it wasn't for him they would have been 3 goals up with Well's dominating. Should not be Dropped.

Out: Murphy, Hayden (inj.)
IN: Campbell, Broughton

The reason i wan't Kiwi in is because he may only get the same amount of possesions as Murphy would but gee wizz! at least he will create a contest rather than float away like a puff of dust!! MURPHY is the fairiest fairy of them all! Not Good enough!

:thumbsu::thumbsu: Yep really did. I love how he puts in a bit of niggle and stands his ground. Suban also did a bit of push and shove today. :thumbsu: I like it!

I know its only his second season but i havn't seen any improvement in hinkleys game. I watched quite a few swans games last year and this year and rate walters, pearce, and pratt ahead of him.

Bad decision maker with poor footskills that have not improved. I also thimk he is gonna struggle to get an AFL body aswell as improve his kick. if we can get somthing for him in next years trade i would do it in a heartbeat

de boer even has better kick than him

Hinkley just doesn't seem up to it at the moment. In the first 1/4 I think it was, he took a run from half back flank up to half forward...not a run really an amble as the NM players weren't taking it up to him. He then kicked a wobbly pile of poo into the forward 50 that dropped in front of whoever it was.

Blight was saying something along the lines of, "oh that's fair enough he's tired from the run."

Well it was the first quarter and he didn't really run. If he's not fit enough to do that then he doesn't deserve a place just yet.

In:

Clarke
Broughton
Pratt

Out:

Murphy (Been in the team for about 5 weeks, hardly done anything...)
Thornton
Hinkley

If Hayden misses Pearce to play.

Calls for De Boer to be dropped is harsh and I don't think he deserve's it.

Murphy has done nothing all year but that doesn't mean he will be dropped, there is a good chance he will be persisted with unfortunately.

I'd like to see Thornton and Murphy out.

In all honesty it'll probably be De Boer and Hinkely out.

I don't think deBoer will be dropped. Surely, surely, after a 2 handball game... Murphy has to be sent back to the WAFL... Harvs gave Head his run of 4 games, Murph has had his run of 4 games... both have proved they're not up to it. Murphy has to be dropped, in all seriousness - he has done nothing at all to hold his spot, with this last game being the worst of them all.

Sibosado for Murphy
Clarke for Thornton
Walters for Hayden(inj)

I think we'd be a bit tall with both Sibbo and Clarke coming in - and Sibbo would need to be elevated ahead of Pearce, which I wouldn't support.

Personally, I'd bring in Clarke for Murphy, and leave MJ at FF, bring in Broughton for Hayden, send Elvis back down back, and bring either Walters or Pearce in for Hill, who I think could do with a week off to freshen up. Bet that last one is unpopular...

Not from me. I agree he looked really tired and not upto his best yesterday and could do with a weeks rest or maybe play him against Richmond and rest him for the away game.

Hill needs to play against Richmond on subi end of question...

Walters to come in could be handy, we simply need some crumbers in the forward line... Would actually like to see Suban playing forward pocket for a bit, has the grunt but more importantly a dangerous left foot.

In; Bradley, Walters, Pearce

Out: Murphy, Hinkley, Hayden (Injured)

Stick kepler in the forward line with MJ

When will some of you understand that Campbell is just as bad as Murphy. No chance in hell he should be playing in Purple.

What did Murphy have on the weekend? 2 Handballs, see ya mate, thanks for your time but your not an AFL standard forward.

Out: Murphy, Hayden
In: Walters, Broughton

Walters in because we need someone at ground level in the forward line. Missing out on too mnay opportunities down there.

Yep.

Clarke is the obvious KP to come in at the moment. I am 99.99999% sure it will be Bradley though...

The thing is Campbell might only have 5-6 disposals for the game, but he will always create a contest and crash a pack. He isnt hesitant to stand up for the jumper unlike Murphy who is unlikely to play again with a torn heart muscle.

My team:

B. Broughton Tarrant Dodd

HB. Suban Johnson Duffield

C. Mundy Haselby Solomon

HF. Peake Pavlich Thornton

FF. Headland Campbell Mcpharlin

R. Sandilands Schammer Ibbotson

Int. Hill, Grover, Deboer, Foster

Out. Hayden(inj), Hinkley, Murphy
In. Foster, Campbell, Broughton

Foster for Hinkley- Foster will play a similar roll with better disposal
Broughton for Hayden- Broughton is going to be great for FFC
Campbell for Murphy- 2 handballs hardly warrants another game.

Or he'll do nothing i.e. what he's been doing in the WAFL this season.

(Note: Ripper, whether he does or doesn't, you have to admit this whole 'crashes packs' thing is pretty funny.)

Yep he'll crash packs and then one of our multitude of small fowards will do the crumbing, too easy.

Cambell is THAT intimidating that he can do his own crumbing. Nobody else would be insane enough to go anywhere near him. Well, unless Ron Artest took up AFL...

Team selection will be interesting this week. It seems that Roger is gone and Murphy will go(barring a major outbreak of swine flu in the squad). Clarke and Walters would be obvious ins if the selectors think they are up to it. This would on paper remedy a couple of glaring weaknesses from the weekend. IE no small forward and not enough flexibility in the talls to maintain structures forward and back. A more conservative approach would see Campbell replace Murphy and Broughton replace Hayden.
