Something tells me this will be a fairly big topic this week, so it might be best to get it started early. Also, it will give people a place to bag players in a constructive way.
Out: Murphy, Thornton, de Boer, Hayden (inj?)
In: Campbell, Pearce, Foster, Broughton/Walters
Obviously Murphy has to be dropped, there is no way the selectors could possibly keep him for next week. I think we need to bring in Campbell, as I don't think McPharlin is a key forward. Campbell will offer something different, and should compliment Headland and McPharlin quite well.
Thornton was good as a defensive forward, and he was even kicking a goal a game. But, he is worthless as a defender. All he can do is run through the centre square, but Pearce can do that. And would surely be a better option.
de Boer has been ok, but he hasn't really done all that much. He just isn't finding a lot of the ball, and his disposal efficiency was the worst of any player today. I think he might benefit from returning to the WAFL for a few weeks, and this would give us a chance to see Foster back in the team.
While if Hayden is injured, I would bring in Broughton or Walters. Depending on whether he would have played as a small forward or small defender.

I'm assuming there will be people calling for Hinkley, Dodd and Grover to be dropped. Personally, I would keep all three. Dodd provided us with some good run out of the back line, although he did make a few mistakes. But more importantly, he beat Aaron Edwards and kept him to just 1 goal.
Grover had an off match, but he had been good in the last few weeks. He is a senior player, and you don't drop them after just one quiet game. The option is to move McPharlin back, and bring in Clarke. With Johnson rotating between forward and back, but I would prefer to just stick with Grover. Give him the next couple of weeks before the break to redeem himself, if he hasn't improved by then...
As for Hinkley, being his buddy I might be a bit biased. But, I thought it was one of his better games. Before you start, I know he made a few mistakes and his kicking was generally quite poor. However, he never stopped taking the game on. This was my biggest criticism of him this year. He backed himself in, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. You can't teach a player to take the game on, you can however teach a player to kick. Hinkley will only improve, and I think this improvement will be a lot quicker in he continues in the AFL rather than dropping him back to the WAFL. Anyway, that was my buddy defending for this week, so feel free to bag him as I know most will.
The one other player I would like to see given a shot is Clarke. He has been ready for a month, and it could well be his time. But the only way I can see him playing, is if they bring him in for Murphy. With Johnson playing as a permanent forward, but I would prefer the variety that Campbell brings.
I can't wait for Brock, Mayne and Ballantyne to be fit and ready to play. I think all three will add a lot to the side.
