Sumich is a bad forward coach. McKinley is not a Heady he is more of a Russell Robertson. The sooner he realizes that the better.

he's like a dead ringer for russel robertson in terms of playing style.

mckinley will be frustrating. that's the nature of his type. we're going to have to learn to accept that. he did end up kicking 4 tonight, although two were consolation goals.

i think it's a bit harsh where some people are saying he can't put it together when the heat is on - he carved up against swans.

hmmm naitanui eh?

im seeing guys like rich, hill tearing it up, but our younger brigade is struggling or is stymied in their development

why did we waste a draft pick drafting a guy like tony notte? that move shapes as well as us drafting brandon hill

and then i thought beau wilkes showed promise last year, but he seems to have gone backwards as well

all of mckinley's goals were CONSOLATION goals

i havent seen him kick one CRUCIAL clutch/crunch goal for us yet

bottom line: hes definitely not jonathan brown, hell hes not even adam hunter

You do realise he has kicked more goals in the last season and a half than any other Eagle.

Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

1. Notte is a tall skinny guy. Was always going to take time to develop.
2. We don't need players to come in right now and be able to play. Insignificant in the scheme of things.
3. Beau Wilkes was never going to be up to AFL standard.

4 goals is still 4 goals.

He's 21 or something and only played 30 or so games.

bottom line: hes definitely not jonathan brown,
No one is expecting him to be.

hell hes not even adam hunter
Hunter had the advanatage playing for a gun team with momentum.

you're serious aren't you? I am getting so frustrated with comments like this. He is a young developing forward who has kicked four goals in each of the games over the last fortnight and was our leading goal kicker last year. Who do you suggest we bring in as an alternative?? We are putting effort into him because he could potentially be our future.

Personally I don't have a problem with him being a bit selfish at times - most of the best forwards are. Don't misquote me either - im not saying that he is one of the best forwards yet but he is OUR forward and i think he deserves more respect from WCE fans than he is getting at the moment.

further more - how is a forward supposed to operate when they are being delivered the pill in such a way as he is? NONE of our forwards, bar Le Cras in the first weeks of the season, has done particularly spectacularly.

Our problem is our MIDFIELD.... NOT BEN McKINLEY.

Maybe we should let the ankle-biters who play on the field at half-time have a go against Carlton on Friday night for us. Surely they couldn't play any worse than our side did tonight, plus it would give Worsfold more time to try to decide which of our players aren't just posers and really want to play AFL footy.

You must be looking forward to another 12 of those.
I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it.

But tonight's result certainly made me question whether we've got the cattle for another crack at the top four. That second tier just hasn't stepped up.

A couple of top five picks look even more enticing after tonight's result.

Or would you rather see us limp up to 5-8 wins?

So it's 5 wins or less to get a priority pick?

That's looking better and better each match..

Swift?

Oh and Seabs out for a pack of Cheese and Bacon Balls. :thumbsu:

I dont think it will make 1 bit of difference who we bring in this week.

Weve never played well at the dome and the blues have been embarrassed today by Adelaide.

They will be fuming and we are soft.

Carlton by over 39.5 is without a doubt the bet of the week here.

Im just hoping if it is we attack the game.

Id rather lose 185 to 100 than 85 to 23 or some sh*t.

Four or less.

Four wins will probably gets us picks 2 and 4 or picks 2 and 5.
We may scrape another win.

But after that effort tonight I struggle to see where....

1 more win for the season? **** I don't know if I really agree with that. I rather us just miss the 8 than just put out half assed efforts every week just to gain two good picks. Pick 7 has been lucky over the last few years. We should aim for that.

I think we should stick Kerr in a jar until we have a midfield good enough to run with him, otherwise he's just going keep getting frustrated, and do himself an injury trying to compensate for the poor efforts in the midfield. Kerr is obviously still sore, so just rest him until he's better, and in the meantime give another of our kids a chance in the midfield to get games into him, and find out if he's a good addition or not.
