I think we are committed down the youth path and have to keep going. Yes, it will mean more disappointing performances, but we just have to grit our teeth and push through it. In about 4 weeks time, we'll start to see NN and Swift starting to come through as well.

Exactly right, and im not sure if we are on the cusp of playing too many kids or if we have crossed the line and require some experience back into the team. Id say that you can have X number of kids in the team, our problem is that 4 of them were midfielders meaning most of the kids in one position. Couple that with blokes like Kerr and Cox having off nights and its not a good recipe.

IMO we would do worse than to put Stinga back into the team for one of the young midfielders.

If we continue to play ASelwood in a negating role then I see some merit in bringing back Stinger, because we need to free him up, not sure why this is still happening...it appears everybody bar the selection committee can see it.

Not sure why they wouldn't try SSelwood as a tagging option, the Selwoods love a challenge and are honest as the day is long, hence freeing up Adam.

If Adam plays on Judd this weekend we may as well not turn up, game lost before the siren blows.

Adelaide has been as average as we have in many games this season. Yet they turned up switched on and hit Carlton hard. Adam Selwood is a better tagger than Doughty (cant remember exactly who played on Judd, but i know it wasnt Shirley) and if he can put in a similar performance by restricting Judd to 20 touches, and get 20 himself, coupled with Glass getting on top of Fev, we will be in with a real show.

No Waite either. Some of the players just need to switch on and forget about the Collingwood effort.

I agree, he is a contested possession machine, but his hurt factor isnt what it used to be IMHO. But knowing our luck, he will have a 30 possession, 4 goals game.

I have not once attacked you personally or your reasons rather I have given an explaination for every question you have asked whether you agree or not is up to you but I do not appreciate the personal attacks....

My Priddis reference was not to blame him, solely, for our loss but to further point out your playing of favourites. You named 10 guys specifically for being shit and you missed Priddis who was almost the worst offender in our side for hitting the opposition with his disposals - he was dreadful but hey, he isnt in the EA group of those who should be hung every time we lose so .... .

I named the players I thought had the biggest influence on the game for what ever reason. Good and Bad and the role they played.

I am certainly not trying a comparison between Nico and Priddis, why you went there escapes me. As does most of your analysis. But, since you did:.

You were the one who compared the 2 you questioned the reason why I hadn't written how bad Priddis's disposal was and then call me biased against Nico.

Priddis is actually in his 4th year (not 3rd) and while 24 (thats only 1 year younger than Nico not the 2 you stated). He has 52 games played. He is a solid inside tackler who has zero pace, little poise, and very poor skills. I thought it was telling when Woosha said post game that you have to wait until 50 games but you have to decide at that point whether "this is as good as it gets" with your 50 game players. It is with Priddis. .

Priddis debut in 2006 (4th year u are correct) and was born in 1985
Nicoski debut in 2004 (6th year) and was born in 1983. Thats by my calculation 2 years differance.

Nico is actually in his 6th year (not 5th) and has missed half his first, half his third and 90% of his 4th - all to long term injuries. He has played 76 games and is at best a good ordinary player. But he has some pace and some flair. And as stated he is 25, not the 26 you went with.

Yes I actually have a full collection of books and files of facts and info that goes right back to the inception of the Eagles and even futher back to the early days of the VFL, VFA and WAFL football leagues.

I have CONSISTENTLY said that Priddis isnt good enough against a backdrop of unadulterated man love for him based on his effort and attitude rather than his ability. It is good to see that my efforts are starting to have an effect and his performances are now critically appraised more often (rather than just accepted cos we like his style).

I have focused on Priddis because our biggest weakness is midfield, by the length of a long straight, and he plays 70%+ of every game in there. He can't tag and has no attacking skills, as such he is a big part of the problem - no-one was questioning that before and I simply tried to change a perception.

My point with EA was that he decided to do a detailed analysis of our weaknesses assessing half the sides failure but, again, he failed to mention our number 2 starting mid who did little bar a clinic on ball butchery - I was simply asking him to open his eyes.... I have given up on the clinically blind.

Bones will be dropped, and Wirrpanda will slide back into defence allowing LeCras to come back into our forward line after his game off with a virus.

And we shouldn't need Seaby as a backup ruck against Carlton, so I think we can afford to drop him and bring Hunter back in, as he will be able to play either forward or back, whatever we need him to be.

Agree with those changes, those are all i'd do. With Waite out we really need to expose their lack of tall quality defenders, its an absolute rabble there. Expecting one of Lynch, Kennedy, McKinley or Hunter (if actually brought back) to dominate.

The only logical excuse that i can see Cockie being dropped to the rookie list is that they'll bring in Davis now at the expense of Nicoski and/or Brett Jones and that they see that playing Davis in that role is of a greater benefit than leaving Cockie in the team (even though i loved his attack on the ball and the way he throws himself at everything, which i dont think all of is picked up on TV).

I thought Coxy did fairly well in the Ruck aginst Collingwood. He alone got more hitouts than the Collingwood team combined. It was his kicking that was woeful. He just needs to handball more often instead of trying to get the long clearance. Carlton only had 34 hitouts against Adelaide, so Coxy and Lynch should be able to win enough of the hitouts to be able to drop Seaby and bring in someone else who can have a bigger impact of the game, such as Hunter, who can get us a few extra shots on goal and/or help our backline.

Honestly, I'd prefer to see Brown go forward, and Hunter back, but I think the coaches are still concerned that Brown's reconstructed knee might not be up to the extra twisting and turning involved in being a forward just yet.

Good to see SSelwood is under consideration for Judd:

Blues' skipper Judd will be the No.1 priority for Worsfold and he said chief tagger Adam Selwood or younger brother Scott headed the list of options to run with the former Eagle.

"Adam Selwood does a good job on those types of players, so he would be the favourite," Worsfold said.

"(Scott) is coming along really well. That's a really good way for young players to learn and we certainly will consider that as well."

I think it would be good for his education to be given some of these jobs on some of the best players in the league, i.e. Judd. Not saying it should be a permanent role for him but I think it will be a good part of his development.

Isn't this what most people thought about him rucking against Fraser and Wood?

Don't get me wrong, Cox is better than them but we all saw he had a shocker of a game. I actually didn't think Seaby was bad in the ruck. He was woeful in the forwardline but not sure whether that was just because of the ground conditions or because he was just SHITE up there. He didn't really provide much of a contest and got pushed under the ball way too easy I thought. Mind you, I didn't EVER expect to see Cox getting outmuscled by John Anthony in the goal square either... but we saw that happen too.

Cox will be better than that and I'm tipping him to come back with a vengeance. I think we need to not just worry about Carlton's strengths (midfield) but also play to ours. For me, this is going to be in the ruck against two good but young rucks. I think Cox and Seaby should absolutely pummell those two and work em over relentlessly to not only provide us with good use of the ball first but also wear those two down so they provide nothing even when they are resting forward or playing around the ground. Effectively taking two players out of their rotations. Perhaps this messes their midfield rotations a bit?? Is that hoping for too much?

I think we have to forget last weeks game against collingwood and look back at the game a gainst Sydney and forward to Carlton when we are making changes.
Ok Carlton don't have a really big ruck department so we could drop Seaby but the forward line preformed at it's best this year against Sydney so we need to keep Lynch up forward. ok no help there.

Adam Selwood is likely to tag Judd as he is the best we have so that may leave us a bit short on attacking mature mid or a HBF

Nicko will have to play on Betts and Glass on FEV.

Cockie is out so we need to replace him with an in and under mid and Leca has to come back in.

Hunter is ready to return but if we are leaving Lynch up forward then he would have to replace Mckinley or play down back which would possibly upset the grow of the young guys.

I think we should also look at tagging / checking Gibbs he has been there playmaker this year , setting up from HB - maybe a job for S Selwood or Ebert
