Of our injured players only Shuey seems a chance and it’s a small one at that. Potentially he could be used as the sub

From the Beagles maybe Jamieson and Trew deserve a recall on form

Luke Edwards is the only definite out but I also have concerns over Sheed as he looked pretty sore

Rotham didn’t do enough to warrant another game but might be saved due to a lack of options

Clark for Edwards
Jamieson for Rotham who becomes the sub
Trew for Sheed if required

Shuey the wildcard as he’s saying that he hopes to be ready for Collingwood but Simpson has said Adelaide

Agree with this.

Know Rotham was forward a bit but would want to see Jamo played back when he's not rucking - think that's his future 2nd position as whilst he's athletic enough to run with someone I don't see him as having the proactive mindset of a forward. Will give Barrass a bit more support also, he looked sore a few times there. Whilst it's not the setup I'd go with if we were any good happy to have Oscar and Snake as the key targets and leave it at that. Give Snake the instruction to not lead to pockets and just be a Darling style body in the pack to bring it to ground 25m from goal every time, let Oscar handle the clever leads.

Clark I don't think is a future member of our next premiership but I want to see him in the thick of it more purely for the sake of giving some players a reprieve - was at the game watching Ginbey and he looked like when your trusty old car is dragging you to the servo after being on empty for 50kms, he was giving everything he had and performed amazingly but just looked visibly cooked after every contest. He's such a good kid with such a good attitude, let's give him a game with some wing time where he's being told "hey mate you've got a guaranteed spot in the side for the next 5 years minimum, you don't need to prove anything. Have a go at getting some cheap possessions for once and practice your outside game, let's run through the times in future we want you to look after yourself mid-season."

Trew needs a game or two with no injuries to prove himself at AFL level as an inside mid (or show he's not up to it). Get him at the bottom of packs where Ginbeys been, give him full quarters where he's either centre or bench and nothing else.

Rotham as sub gives complete flexibility to cover whoever gets randomly injured (inevitably).

Give Burgiel/Hewitt some more WAFL time to build at least some confidence, as much as you can get whilst getting flogged.

Want to see us being creative with rotations and combining development, preservation and discovery as much as we can. Give Hough/Petruccelle/Long a few centre bounces each. See if O'Neill is a bit less panicked playing back for a bit while Duggan or Witherden are off. Saw a bit of that against Essendon, let's keep it going. Privately from a coaching perspective concede a win is close to impossible but try and keep an effort mindset especially through some of these guys playing for their careers

Sub him in part way into the 4th quarter after everyone else has run out of legs - at that stage he'll only be a couple of levels behind the speed of everyone else... we're laughing it in.

WC: 1 AFL: zero
He'll be power walking through and setting sail for home from 30m out.

His trade currency will go through the roof = win/win.

Out - Gaff, L.Edwards, XON, Petch
In - Jamieson, Burgiel, Shuey and Trew

Rotham to play Wing
Clark in the guts - Head to head with Mitchell. Let's play him in his preferred role and see if he can hold his own.
I agree. Rotham looked lost as a forward and is too cautious in the backline where he should be. Wing seems ideal for him to try and establish himself. Clark try’s hard and seems to be always chasing. What’s disappointing about him is that for a guy with his experience and height, he doesn’t hold many marks. He was recruited as a big bodied mid so see how he goes in there.

Please drop Gaff, mainly for supporters psychological well being.
He did a couple of good things on Sat by providing run and options but he tried to hand ball one time and much like his kicking, couldnt make the distance. The annoying thing is he looks backward or sideways every time he kicks it.

He seems like a lost cause now at 25 and 50 games under his belt.

He actually looked really good in that game he played forward last year but in that game we had JK/Darling/ Waterman so he got the fourth banana

Rotham is done.... I hope WC delist him and give his spot to a draftee

A repeat of last year would be nice, don't know how they managed to lose to us.

is he allowed to play if drafted?

Think Collingwood played Noble straight away.

It’d be a bold move for a club that’s traditionally very conservative. But on the other hand we’re very light on for forwards who know how to play forward, we’re reduced to sticking midfielders and key backs in the forward 50, so it’s not the worst idea in the world.

Maric would be allowed to play

That said draft is Wednesday night so earliest he can get here will be sometime Thursday

Asking him to play Collingwood after a couple of VFL games with no knowledge of our game plan or half his new teammates names would be rather bizarre and setting him up to fail. Especially with no work to build an AFL level fitness base

Him playing for the Beagles would be considered a rushed selection.

For the record Culley didn’t play his first week after being drafted and played several WAFL games before making his AFL debut

Not knowing the gameplan might be an advantage

I just remember Gaffy roaming the wings of Subi by himself just gut running outrunning everyone.

Wish he could do that these days. Use your wheels Gaffa

He got a slow puncture about 5 years ago.
The tyres are now flat, the wheels have come off and he's now running on bare rims.
