Rioli in means one of Ryan or Venables is out, given they all play low minutes. Hope to see them all in the team at some stage though.

I am actually hoping Venables can play many more minutes as he played so few last time.

We definitely have favourites that we are willing to pump games into despite form (Sheed and Duggan in their first years). Hopefully they resume this approach with DV.

Great news on Rioli's inclusion to team, can't wait to see him mix it at AFL level.
Presume he's 'fully' recovered from injuries?
Interested to see how he plays compared to Ryan and will they be out there together at any stage?
Venables should be on-field again and might improve on last week..?

I think the 'wheel' has turned with Simmo. It's mostly about getting games into youth and the new breed now, without tanking obviously.

I guess you could say he's still feeling out his list and where it's at.

If he turfed one of the brightest young sparks we have coming through in favour of someone like Hutchings for example, i think he knows people would be reaching for the pitchforks early on. It'd be a step backward.

I dont think Simmo has changed much at all its just we have options now. There was no decent youth available last year. We already know he was going to debut Rioli and DV last year if they were fit

He’d only come in to replace one of the rucks - but considering Lycett looks a fair way off right now he might get a shot sooner rather than later.

Once Nic has a bit more match fitness under his belt I wouldn't mind seeing McInnes have a go at the second ruck spot. He'd be average in the ruck for sure but I guess the question is if he can offer more as a forward than vardy or lycett.

Doubtful. Lycett will have a free run to build form until Vardy is back up and running.
