Wonder why Cole has been made to play through the WAFL since he wasn't out through injury. Certainly earnt his spot during preseason. Maybe there are concerns about his "mental state" after an emotional/stressful week and he needs another week away from the highest level? Good on the club if that is the case.

So with easing cole back into the WAFL looks like it will be just the one change:

In: Rioli
Out: Nelson/Schofield

Think the balance of the side is almost perfect now. Probably just kennedy for waterman and ah chee/hutch for masten and its our best 22.

Disagree. Rioli is as pure a crumber as they come. Def not a marking small forward they way Ryan is.

Did think the reaction was fairly meek too, but I haven’t seen anything to suggest he isn’t fitting in. I think he seems quite close with some of the other young forward boys.

He's a naturally shy bloke as most of his rellies where/are from Melville/Bathurst, I went to school a long time back with a couple of Roili's, extremely shy at 1st but once they get to know and trust you they come out of their shell big time, can't imagine what it feels like for him in front of the cameras but the blokes trying and doing a bloody good job IMO.
The others in the team where more than likely already aware he was getting named, was probably old news for them.

My take away was Tommie Cole doesnt look in great shape. Poor bastard.

Whole bit was obviously staged. Willie just happens to be wearing an eagles cap...the only player in the room with one? I am sure he got a more genuine congrats from the boys behind closed doors.

Rioli in for Schofield is good. The backline is perhaps a tad thin, but I like it.
