Well Switta is listed as a test now.

So if he's good it's easy for me, Switta for Ballas.

Hogan to be earmarked for the Saints. There may be less selection headaches this time next week due to form or injuries (hopefully not).

On a side note I think Ballas did a lot organising that Forward line on Sunday, he may be more of a loss than we think.

Ballantyne (Hamstring) > Matera

Swita, Logue & Duman to play Peel Scratchie for match fitness. Giro can be the travelling emergency.

Spurr on the radio kept referring to Schultz heading off to get his knee checked. He made a comment about 1st year players sometimes having difficulty backing up for second game. From memory Swita missed the the game after his debut late last year. Played Carlton, missed the Geelong debacle and then played against Collingwood.

Schultz at the scratchie at East Freo weekend before last for the last part of the game had some knee strapping on. On Wednesday at training he didn't have any strapping on nor did he have it on during the game on Sunday so maybe its a bit of a niggle that he feels better with it not being strapped.

Being completely shellfish I kinda want Hogan to debut in Rd 3 so I can see it live... and so the Freo faithful can show him how much support he has.

But... if he and those advising him think a less grandiose debut away is better then I'll be happy that I at least got to be shellfish with Lobbster.

Media and majority of Freo supporters are **** sure we're winning this weekend, even Hackdorn and Hardon - what's the deal? I didn't see GC but they came within a point of winning away in Melbourne, is it really a guaranteed result?

Maybe Grumpy Mick will print an article about Mundy not doing the most with his talent ......

Nah, save that for another 2 weeks.

Motivation, keep em on their toes.

It would be insane to play Hogan in the twos if fit...

Likewise it would be insane to make changes to a 12 goal winning team and drop players that performed.

You can make valid arguments both ways but since Lyon values effort above all else I don't think we'll see Hogan next week.

I would have thought playing out of the Perth and Melbourne fishbowls against Gold Coast would have been the perfect entry for Hogan after this mishap, particularly if he does get anxious.

Really what if Fyfe was coming back from injury, it would be a no brainer it would make you’re team better the same as Hogan would.

If we had just won the game by 10+ goals and all of our mids put in strong performances? Still same scenario, valid arguments both ways. And it's not the case of Hogan coming back from an injury.

Look I'm on record saying its wrong to drop Tabs for Hogan for culture reasons but people are kidding themselves if they dont think Hogan in for Tabs would make us a better side.

Tabs played a good game on the weekend that we are all happy with but if it was Hogan in the same circumstances he would have done a lot more than Tabs did.

We will not miss Tabs if Hogan plays ahead of him, I guarantee it
I find it quite amusing pretty much the majority of this board has fapped over wanting hogan in purple since he was junior and now (providing he’s available) think he should wait it out at peel???... seriously?, he’s our 2nd most talented player behind Fyfe (not inc Bennell)

Look tabs definitely stays for now , he’s done everything right and been asked of . He really does add to our fwd line.....Buuuut at some stage we are going to be too tall and we sure as hell haven’t chased jesse since he joined the afl to come play at peel .
Unfortunately for tabs tho he’s the least mobile/versatile of all our kpfs so to me he’s the one to make way... unless of course cam/hoges can make up for being one less small/midfielder in the team.

Personally think switta will be our no 1 pure small fwd but he’s only just coming back from another hamstring injury let’s, for the love of god , get a guy right before we rush him back(ala shill).

Also agree we need Matera playing predominantly as small fwd , one thing he can do is crumb sand with Ballas well past it there’s definitely an opening for him there but he’s really got to earn it.

So after all that , let’s just keep it simple for now

Hogan for Ballas

Providing it’s not forecasted rain for the game think it’s perfect opportunity to try the 4 talls

I don't think that's the argument or anyone would disagree with that.

Jesse surely has to come in. The whole spiel about it just being a mental health thing kind of falls away if he's then sent down to Peel as punishment. The media circus will start up again as well if that's what we're seen to be doing. GC away is a perfect introduction for him.

Jesse didn’t have much chemistry with the forwards the last time he played. My concern is he comes in and upsets the dynamic established last weekend.
