It's plain to see we need an injection of youthful arrogance and aggression. The In's above bring in some much needed body strength, arrogance and grunt.

RT, you can't tell me that performance was not shocking. You can't tell me that there 3-4 players who deserve to be dropped. Yes we had a bad game. Yes it was only the first game of the season but this was meant to be the year we do something. And to lose by 80 odd points to a side who we are meant to be neck and neck with is not a good start.

You don't panic after 1 poor performance and make wholesale changes to a side that got torn a new one. We will make the changes we need to make and at this stage there are only 2, Raines and Cousins.

You'd drop Richo, the only bloke that plays for the jumper and tries his ars off.

Agree it was a bad performance but seasons aren't decided by the results of the first game. If they were then the Hawks may as well pack it in as well as any other team that loses this weekend.

As for being neck and neck with the Blues, there is no real reason that people should stop believing that. They were up and about for the game while we weren't. It is as simple as that. By seasons end I still expect us to be in the same area of the ladder as the Blues.

As for being neck and neck with the Blues, there is no real reason that people should stop believing that. They were up and about for the game while we weren't. It is as simple as that. By seasons end I still expect us to be in the same area of the ladder as the Blues.

The difference? They lost to Geelong by 8 points. We lost to Carlton by 83 points. You can't compare us to the hawks. We are aiming for the 8 they are aiming for the flag. They lost to a very very good Geelong side by 8 points.

i havent seen him take too many shots on goal but that would be where he would get a game i dont think there is room for him in the backline.

I never said the season was shot. I said changes need to be made so we can at least be competitive against Geelong. We have to play a lot better. But by no means is the season shot. I just said losing by 14 goals is not the best start in a season which is make or break.

Regardless of whether it's round 1 or round 22, we played like a bunch of soft c**** and deserve every ounce of criticism we recieve.

If at least three of Hislop, Polo, Rance, Nahas and even Collins aren't playing next week I'll spew, and I'll really be questioning Terry's position.

Fair enough, skills might be a bit rusty, but don't tell me you lose intensity and tackling pressure over a summer. It was a diabolical performance.

Look at how we lost and how the hawks lost. Blind freddy could tell you the way the hawks lost they will challenge this season, will we? lol

we will never play finals as things currently stand, we dont have the game style for it, not a high enough intensity, not enough mongrel. So unless something drastically changes our season has already been decided. Good sides never play that badly or if they do they have enough interest in the bank to know its an aberration, what do we have in the bank?

Rance and Polo should have been in Round1 and when Thompson is available he should be.
Jordan McMahon hasn't just been disappointing in Round1 he has featured in plenty of people thoughts as being terrible, every outing he has had this season and it can not be excepted, especially when we have capable players who have shown more desperation and have better recent form.
He must go and with Cuz and Raines out I think thats enough.

how many goals was petts kicking? its all about the pressure, which he will apply in spades. besides hes not a bad kick as such, he just chooses the wrong option. being closer to goals would probably give him a bit more direction cause he can at least blaze away. at least if he turns it over its not a goal against us in the forward 50.

To think we will be thumped this week is to not understand Richmond.

We save those performances for when we have the supporters hopes up.

At this stage we will slowly start seducing supporters hopes up again.

Probably get within 25 points of a Geelong side that struggles to get the type of build up that they get for a team they rate.

I can see Terry pumping the performance up next week saying we were competetive while Geelong players are in the rooms telling each other they couldnt get up for the match.

Add Pollo and it hardens up the backline heaps.
