Lock in Cotch and possibly Farmer for the milne test...dont see much more changing for the game against the aints. As for introducing TT, not against a lock down team like the aints...we want him to build confidence going into the pre season.

So in Cotch and Farmer
Out - Nason and Cuz

Thurst might get a gig too for Rooey, but i dont think Damien is worried to much about the result in preference to finding out stuff so Goo and Post to go again with Moore and Astbury in the BL

Those suggesting Hicks out have NFI. The more games this kid gets the more he improves, he aint a liability, he is smart, fast and is purely getting a handle on the big time. Leave him in.;)

any of the core or senors who do not perfom outski just keep on promoting the younger blokes.

Forget about Vickery was soundly beaten in the magoos v Bendigo regularly by Jason Cloke , showing about as much potential as a ruckman as Robin Nahas .

In : Cotchin, Thurstfield, Taylor
Out : Connors ( slack and disposal is terrible , his shit attitude is starting to effect the rest of the playing group )
Two of White, Hicks and Nason

Ridiculous comment. Connors is one of the players who actually tried to create run and carry off the HBF. Get a grip.

Out:

Hicks (only had 3 touches and is not yet up to the level. We can't just gift games to kids because it is there first year. Would prefer to see Rance there atm).

White - Injured

Browne - Too slow and does not get the ball around the ground. These kind of ruckman are finished....

Ins:

Rance, Vickery, Cotchin,

Cotchin will come in and I'd like to see Taylor and Rance in too. So I guess Hicks would make way for Taylor, Orielly for Cotchin and White(inj) for Rance. But Connors and Tuck could do with a run at Coburg

Connors is lazy, forging on scared , who has all the tools yet not the attitude. After the shit he has done , and chances given, since he has been at the club, you would think attitude and commitment would be the last thing that would be his downfall .
Creating run and carry like McMahon ?

Forgot about Farmer...

I'd say;

IN: Cotchin - Farmer - Thursfield
OUT: O'Reilly - White - Hicks

If Cousins and Graham don't get up for the game then Webberley and Vickery will have to come in too.

Hey guys first time poster long time reader
Changes this week

OUTS: Cousins(inj), White(inj), Hicks(omit), King(inj)

INS: Farmer, Taylor, Thursfield, Rance

McGuane wont play again this year, i know him and Kel Moore, McGuanes been on one groin since the Magpies practice match at the start of the year, i think he'll have an early operation and have a big pre season

Can you tell him to get on the leg weights?

Hopefully he's going ready for an impending trade to GC.

Outs:

White (injured)
Cousins (if injured)
Nason (rest)

Ins:
Cotchin
Thursfield
Farmer

If King is injured, bring Webberley in.

O'Reilly looks so far off the level, but he'll only learn by staying at that level for a bit.

Gourdis was good defensively, and considering that's what he's in the team for, I'm pretty happy with that.

Bazzar - Thursfield is streets ahead of Mcguane and Moore.

Defensively he's the best of the lot. Look at Nathan Brown at Collingwood, Glass at West Coast, Rutten at Adelaide, Jamison at Carlton - there's a heap of fantastic defenders who aren't used as springboards for the next attack.

Lukes locked in for two more years (not that, that means shit) we had a laugh and a chat about GC rumours only up because he's from there but most of his family are in Victoria, so's his house and Mrs. Dont want to lose McGuane, Thursty, or Moore there to valuable, alot of you mightn't like one or all of them but good backmen are hard to find, they all play a role and a part, its just because the ball enters out defensive 50 so much, but Luke does need to imrove his disposal.

Because if thats all you are going to do your a waste of a man on the ground.

We arnt in the 80`s anymore, the game and tactics have moved forward.
But he also doesnt let his man get much of the ball so if its a waste of a man for us it also is for them. Its alright to have someone playing like this when you have Newman, Deledio and Connors helping rebound.

Morris at the Dogs, Presti at the Pies.

So why is Thursty seemingly out of favor then? He is the complete opposite of Moore and McGuane, and how do you know his style of backline play isnt what Leppa and Dimma want?

I suppose we will see with selection on Thursday because he was very ordinary yesterday

I'd argue that Thursfield was dropped for Gourdis to have a run and trial whether we could compete against a forward line of athletic talls, one devoid of a giant.

You'd agree that of the three, Moore has the least ability to play on a bona fide tall forward, yes?

Then it's down to a personal preference between McGuane and Thursfield. I'd argue, that even though McGuane dashes away with the ball he counteracts that by having limited footskills and often getting caught upfield - we pay when they go over the top of him and a goal is scored.

Obviously none of us know how the coaches feel - but I go by judging the play - not by this weird mix that you do that seems to take into account coaching selection, interviews, and statistics and not enough gut feel.

lets just play as many kids as possible. but in doing so lets keep some semblance of structure and experience.
whats that old saying ??? Oh yeah perfect practice makes perfect. besides we want the kids to learn not get beaten up on.

I get the feeling they want Moore to play the Sam Fisher role. Doesn't quite have the polish of Fisher. But clubs are also waking up to Fisher quite a bit also, and playing through his man, or playing a defensive forward on him.

I have a feeling Thursfield was also dropped for under-performing late in the game last week against the Dees. I don't think DH was happy when he dropped that mark, which I think resulted in a turnover goal, and signaled the end of the contest. His body language when shooting for goal also looked pretty poor, almost like he just expected to miss. I know some would argue he shouldn't have been playing forward, but regardless, he is a senior player now, and expectations should be higher.

I'd not miss McGuane if he didn't play another game for us to be honest. Nothing against him, just don't think he's up to it. Hell of a lot more upside in Gourdis and Astbury as KPDs from what I've seen.
