The obvious:

IN: Headland
OUT: Schofield

HFF for HFF. Very easy decision.

Next decision. Who to omit for Bell if he is fit. . If Schammer is injured worse than expected than the decision becomes void.

On performance Medhurst would probably be omitted. But i doubt that CC would have the balls to mess with our forward structure in round 22 in a must win game for us to play finals. I think replacing Medhurst may be the right decision. Though even i, the keyboard selector omit him at risk of detrimenting our forward structure.

The question becomes which of our midfielders should be dropped. Walker has been playing the role of a small defender and i don't think he becomes part of the equation.

That leaves Peake, Crowley, Dodd, Schammer, Cook, Black, J.Carr, M.Carr, Hasleby as our midfield entourage.

Dodd has been excellent all year. The perfect tagger for the tall damaging midfielder. Played an excellent game last night and quelled Hayes completely.

Crowley similarly has been great as a tagger. I think his versatility as a forward pocket is the reason i think Medhurst should be dropped. Crowley, Headland and Farmer are all capable forward pockets and Crowley is also a capable midfielder.

Schammer isn't having an excellent year (compared with 2004, but has had an interrupted preseason and is close to his best), but has definately stepped up since the break. Returning to his home state he is likely to have a blinder.

Black has been exceptional all year. The Carrs are as hard as nails and Cook is harder.

Hasleby can be exceptional or ordinary (only because of injury). Given its an 8 day break i'm expecting exceptional.

Peake was excellent against the Saints, his runs through the middle of the ground was inspirational, this guy is quick. Exactly what our midfield has missed most of the year. I would hate to see him left out. After a 17 possession game including a goal would be tough to be omitted.

Thats a solid argument for every midfielder. I will suggest Cook's omission from the midfield. I realise this is blasphamy. But i feel that our in and under players of J.Carr, Hasleby and Bell are enough for the team.

The argument for Cook's inclusion is that he brings hardness to the team. I think all the players are playing with desire and hardness. His poor disposal last night cost the team a couple turnovers. I rate Cookie, but it seems he only excels in a losing team. The other possible omissions from the midfield list are Schammer, Crowley and Peake. All 3 in my mind have proved thier worth.

So my first choice for Bell's inclusion is Medhurst, 2nd choice Cook, 3rd/4th/5th Schammer, Crowley and Peake.

Don't be too harsh in your criticism of me :D

I agree with the obvious. des in jarrah out.

Now for some controversy....

Last night in the coachs box Bellie appeared to be very stand offish when jlo kicked the goal. He walked away from the celebrations. Mabey he felt that little gut ache that says 'can I get back in ?'

I wouldnt guaruntee him a walk up start.

Crowley is the find of the year. Peake cannot be dropped niether any of the others mentioned in the midfield entourage.

That leaves medhurst or farmer.

Some one is gonna be hurting next week and should be a forward.

Medhurst simply can't get a game, he's a deadset liability. Headland has to come in for Schofield. Even Hayden in a pocket would be a better option atm.

What idiot wants to drop Farmer? He was ordinary last night, but he's been bloody good all year.

You criticise us and suggest Macca as a replacement for GHD.

Are you saying Peter Bell's body language suggested that he won't be fit for next week or that if he is fit he won't get a game because the side played so well? If you are suggesting the latter then this is the most insane post I have ever read.

If you get a chance watch it. Mabey his body language is due to his injury. But from what I saw he didnt even look happy.

Stange.

Maybe he didn't celebrate because he knows that he won't be back next week or for the finals if we qualify. Maybe he made an effort to stay composed because he knows what it's like to play in grand finals and doesn't want to get carried away to remind his teammates that there is still a job to do. While last night was fantastic he kept it in perspective and realised that it was all for nothing if we lose next week. If Peter Bell is 90% fit he will play next week.

Schofield to return to the 2005 WAFL runners up.

Des in.

Farmer worked hard, but the ball was not running his way, you have days like that. I think CC would be very happy with his 1 percenters, especially his last quarter.

Peake has now risen to the level of being able to at least look at his old mans bootlaces. Keep up the good work rate.

OUT: Schofield (Why did he play in the last 2 weeks?)

IN: Headland (Needs to play with aggression he did against Tigers)

I'd be naming Gilmore, & taking him on the plane, as well as Johnson, but I think they'll both miss out....CC won't drop Medhurst (though I wish he would). Hayden would have been a "shoe-in" for mine, but had hamstring tightness last week for Sth Freo, so we just can't take someone who might be 50-50 in terms of fitness. Johnson may come in if CC thinks he is the good match up for Thurstans & goes for Polak on Tredrea instead of parker.

Peter Burgoyne must be tagged by Dodd
Stuart Dew must be tagged Crowley
Polak on Tredrea
JLO again in defence manning up Thurstans/Lade, worked well last week for first half

I reckon we'll pinch the points but only if CC mans up if Port plays loose men in defence, the Saints were killing us in that department last Friday, until the last quarter when CC played an 8 man forward line & played man on man. Who cares if Polak, McPharlin, Pavlich, Farmer, Medhurst, Crowley, Thornton, JLo are all in the forward line at once...kick it high & in the air & results will come.

Matchups

1. Walker on P.Burgoyne
2. Haselby on J.Francou
3. J.Carr on K.Cornes
4. Parker on Tredrea close to goal and Grover on him up the ground.

Someone has to make S.Burgoyne  accountable when he trys to rebound out of defense. We stop him doing that and we win. He's been tearing it up in this role allowing C.Cornes to move up the ground.

You'd have to think Pickett will come in as a late change?

Interesting on Francou and Primus - they are great ins for us, ask any Teal lover what they think!

I'm hoping like buggery that Josh Carr plays on Francou. Walker on S. Burgoyne. Cookie has to come off the line and target Kane Cornes every chance he gets -- important to break the Hasleby tag.

Don't go messing with us nurries.... is that for real?

Edit: the word of Barra on DL.

Well I can see why - they are both similar size, height, weight, similar positions... hmm both injured by the looks of things.

Very interesting. Gutsy little fella Our Belly...

Remember he missed out last season in this very same situation? Could this be what we need? Or will it just hurt our defence even more?

I wouldn't be surprised if we're just playing silly buggers, I hope Belly plays as it'll give the team a huge boost, but I think Murphy might come in at the last minute.

Similar thoughts.

Polly did get crunched pretty badly in the last quarter, last week.

This season have we gone into the game with the 22 named on the Thursday night?, there are always changes.

You lot have a good chance this week, just dont be soft, go hard at the ball and dont get overwhelmed by the feral crowd. Too many Freo teams have gone soft and limp when in pressure situations like tomorrow night, its time to stand up and fight for a top 8 spot. I would LOVE to see the Dockers play finals footy again, and would be awesome if you could finally end Port's hopes. Please win or i will rip up my non existant season ticket.

GO YOUUUUU DOCKERRRRRRRRS
