Okay. Douglas is an awesome player, ball magnet, electric pace, brilliant disposal. Chance for the Brownlow. What are his odds?

Okay now your just over-reacting, no one said any of that, just that compared to a lot of others out there today his contribution was decent and that his disposal count probably hides some of the good things he did.

In: Porplyzia, Vince, Tippett
Out: Dangerfield (studies), Goodwin (injured and can't mark, can't kick), Rutten (no suitable match up and lacks the weapons to play forward)

Johncock is skating on very thin ice atm. I'm ****ing sick of his lack of intensity. Trade to Geelong for Stokes???

I dunno, watching the match on friday night, I though Rutten could be a decent match up for Mitch Hahn, he out bodied anything and everything Essendon threw at him. If he plays a similar game then Rutten would be in his element.

Ah here we go again, la-la land fairies. 13 possessions, new career high for the gun that is Richard Douglas? Accepting mediocrity.

Douglas has averaged 13 touches a game, kicked 22 goal for ther year in a side that does not have a strong forward structure

if this is mediocrity, given Campbell's numbers, what is he ?

I jnow you will say, for a 1st round pick this is not good enough, however, have a look at some of the othe lads in the same draft

given Richard's role I am happy with the way he is playing and developing

Douglas out? Get ya ****ing hand off it Drummond. Along with Massie and Edwards he was one of our best today. 22 goals for him this season as well, a very handy player so just ****ing acknowledge it.

You're honestly ****ing amazing sometimes. Most one eyed Norwood supporter I've ever come across. Piss off and go support the deadlegs.

Now you have simply lost all credibility ........do you care?

Captain will not be dropped

Douglas will not be dropped

Stevens will not be dropped

I agree with Drummond that Goodwin has been pretty awful lately but he simply wont be dropped so I don't see the point in Drummond even saying that. Stevens wont be dropped but **** me he is slow. If he leads and doesn't get the perfect pass onto his chest then that's it, he wont win the contest. Absolutely terrible below the knees.

As for Douglas, just pure stupidty from Drummond but what's new. He goes on about how 13 disposals and one goal today wasn't good enough yet I'm sure will cream his pants over Mackay as usual who had exactly the same amount of disposals.

Do you know if you got rid of every player that has a bad season or stretch of games we would have any players left.

Players have bad patches ....judge them over time not just a few games

A copuple of seasons ago Macleod was playing poorly .......should have seen the number of posters prepared to ignore his longterm efforts for the AFC and ship him off ........very poor :thumbsd::thumbsd:

Cmon WW and give us another one of your cracking reviews of Douglas. I'll do it for you.

Douglas:

Was very quit.......fumbled......lacked composure, still loses his footing................ATS probably not doing enough..........but you can see the class, it was on display and he WILL be a player, it's only a matter of time.

Dougy's a forward pocket. 13 possies is about on the mark.
His tackling pressure was good, goal was very good and disposal was good.

Many many palyers below him

Yep ...not our worse player .......is getting better for those who have a serious eye on the game .........

That takes me back to the days when you were talking about Pfieffer and how he'll be a star and "it's only a matter of time" .. difference is Douglas is actually consistently getting games.

Mate, Douglas had one bad fumble, apart from that, whilst his possession count wasn't huge, he was one of our few players trying to create with his disposals and not just chip backwards or sideways. He also had a composure about him which few others had.

Exactly what the loungeroom experts at my place said about Douglas.

It aint all gloom and doom as it seems to be after every loss. Today was out of the ordinary...Will we ever suffer that kind of umpiring again? (quite possibly, what else is new for the crows?)

It is not the time to be reactionary or finger-pointing. It was a baddy all round.

Surly everyone knows by now that Neil Craig doesn’t make wholesale changes.

The only change will be

Out – Dangerfield
In – Poprlyzia

And Vince will get an extra week to recover from his hamstring.

Thanks Drummond ;) ....not quite the report ...you need to read my thoughts on the other thread

But seriously mate he is progressing OK .......he is starting to take more marks, actually jumping for marks and taking them one grab

His disposal is 100% better than the first couple of seasons

Sure he needs to be in the play more and a couple of attacks on the ball were too casual .....but he is playing as a small forwrd which is not really where he'll settle, so give him some credit

And when will you realise that Campbell WILL NOT get another contract ....he is a vanilla 6 footer that are a dime a dozen in any draft

I do not have an issue with resting Goody, especially if Vince and Proplyzia are back.

In regards to Stevens, I realise that I will be in the minority, however, I do have concerns with his lack of body strength. he continues to get pushed off the contest far too easily

If Stevens is to play forward, my preference would be Tippett

If Stevens is to play down back, one player either Baseett, Massie or Stevens should go

Nah ....Vince and Tippett in for round 22 to settle the side ....and you can quote me on those ;)

Sadly this is not a one off for Johncock: he had similar commitment issues last year and looked very ordinary at times. At this stage of his career, he should be doing better. If it's too much to ask of him, then Petrenko should be played ahead of him as I'm sure he'd love to be playing at AFL level.

As for Douglas, in his defense, he is a natural midfielder being played in the deadend role of a small forward. I would like to see him spend more time on the ball.

OUT: Moran, Dangerfield,
IN: Vince, Tippett.

Iam sure Petrenko's pace and run and carry is very attractive to the AFC ....but Johncock is still a class act and still would be preferred over Petrenko

Hopefully Stiffy will have a good PS and 2009 will again have him as a favourite son of the Crows faithful

Yeah OK, we will see 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Even after the Port loss miking 5 in a row, he still didn’t make wholesales changes.
Poprlyzia and maybe Vince, but no way will he make 3 changes.
