Firstly we have to win. The rest will be decided by other wins/losses. But at least we stay top four. Lose and we can drop to as far as 6th as well.

Agree with the Madge part. McLarty might be a no go now with a tripping report (pending result). Murphy seemed to do ok. Howe back possibly this week. Either way, we have to win vs Freo rather than repeat what happened in 2008.

Yep. Really, the only team we can face without him and be really confident is Richmond (assuming Howe is back to play on Reiwoldt)

Not for me mate.......when he went on ball on Saturday he made a massive difference.

When we are up by 20 points against Freo then we rest him.

I agree we can't afford to rest him. We still have a tough game to play. I'm just replying to your comment 'Out= Player who need the rest'.

He is clearly the player who most needs the rest, but if they can get him up, they need to play him and hope the bye round gives him some recovery.

We can't afford for him to break down though. It'll be up to the medical staff. Which doesn't really inspire confidence.

Howe for Oxley, and thats probably that. With the week off before finals I just dont think resting anyone is needed.

I feel the club would be nervous about bringing Fas in for someone who needs a rest. If a JDG or WHE need a rest - 2 players we well and truly know to be better than Fas - and Fas kicks 3+, it'd be harsh to drop him!

Not sure we could add Fasolo to the team we played Port with without dropping a forward.

PS yes I know you want your best, most in form team in but... risky to play around with structure.

Madgen has been good in moments throughout games but he struggles too...

Varcoe is an important player and vital to our success in finals. Has struggled with injury this year so a 2 week break will do him no harm.

Agree. Basically gets 10-12 days to recover for all the boys after the game. Winning is priority. Get a good lead early ideally and manage from there.

With Darling concussed today there's a good change he won't board the plane to Brisbane. Lions a HUGE chance.

It's tempting to rest JDG but imagine the melts if we lost by a small margin without him. If he's okay to play (even if it's just forward pocket) then he plays IMO.

Need to put the foot to the throat and bury Freo. Top 4 spot not locked in and let's hope the boys don't become complacent this week. Melbourne did that against us last year and we all know how that ended.

I’d give Stephensen the week off and bring in Fas. First year player who has played every game. Would be nice for him to have a couple weeks rest and be fresh for finals
