To those suggesting 6, 7 and 8 changes....as disappointing as today has been, many of us were of the opinion that we had close to our best 22 in today and were comfortable with no changes from last week. Yep, Fletcher and Hansen's time may have come. But the kind of wholesale changes being suggested on the back of one terrible performance are unlikely to be happen.

Let's not forget, we have always been ordinary at Docklands, and it was only really in the 05 / 06 seasons that we improved our overall record at the venue. St Kilda will be in the top few you would imagine this year. The lack of effort was disappointing to see, but I certainly didn't expect to beat St Kilda today, and if we had would have seriously altered my expectations of what 09' may bring.

first post i read that makes any sense.
We cant drop more than 3 players, if we do then blokes will think that unless i rack up stats or kick goals then ill be out.
Say goodbye to team footy, looking after your mates, and all that you will see is snaps from the pocket and blokes clapping their hands yelling here here trying to get the easy ball.

OUT: Embley, Fletcher, Ebert, Davis, Masten, Nicoski, Brown(matchups)

IN: Selwood, J.Mac, Spangher, Staker, Swift, Wirra, Kennedy, Schoefield

Lecras Mckinley J.Mac

Lynch Kennedy Swift

Spangher- Cox - Kerr - Priddis - Selwood - Rosa

Jones Mckenzie Hunter

Wirra Glass Hurn

IC: S.Selwood, Schoefield, J.Mac, Staker

Need to send a message. It will prob be 100 points either way but we'll get a better look at the future i reckon... and more runners.

Fletcher? I thought we were developing younger players!
Masten-silver boots??? Tends to confirm what i've thought for a while about this bloke. If you want to stand out on the field sonny and be a lair it helps if you can play footy!
Glad I haven't got any money on him for the Rising Star award.

bulldogs are a small team, not many talls so I would

Outs: Mitch Brown: Nothing he has done, sore knees, give him arest, Bulldogs dont have any tall forwards
Ashley hansen: Too slow, will get killed by turnovers against the bulldogs
Chad Fletcher: Just plain shit

Ins: Wirrapanda: some run out of defence
Cockie: some agression in the midfield
Scott Selwood, Butler or Macnamara: Whoever performs the best in WAFL

think we should go small in the forward line and try and apply more pressure. Heresmy line up

FB Davis Glass Wirrapanda

HB Hurn Mackenzie B Jones

C Ebert Selwood Rosa

HF Lecras Lynch Embley

FF Masten McKinley Nicoski

R Cox Kerr Cockie

Int Hunter Wirrapanda Priddis Selwood/Mcnamara,Butler

We cant afford to carry too many logs in this game as the bulldogs will be too quick for us, better off playing a smaller side

no such thing as 6+ changes bar injuries.

it will unbalance the team, you dont go ommitting players wk in wk out.

For all those crying for a better midfield, put Scott in the guts - he is demanding to be acknowledge.

Round 4:
Hurn Glass Jones
Nicoski Mckenzie Schoefield
Rosa Selwood S.Selwood
Hunter Kennedy Lynch
Lecras Mckinley Wirra

Cox Kerr Priddis

Staker Brown Stenglein Embley

Wce needs to try and stretch the Doggies.
Going small vs small, ive no doubt we'll get polished again.

i cant take u seriously with that lineup

Masten in the forward pocket.

ive seen plenty of bulldogs games. going smaller and your already conceding to their gameplan.

Tall vs small we will get polished by more. The team needs a bit of run. Your half forward line would be ridiculously slow and they would run off them with ease

Our footskills arent good enough to punish the bulldogs by going tall. the bulldogs are gonna massacre us in the midfield, so we have to have more runners that can run through there. Masten is no good in the midfield, where else can u put him

Out: Embley
In: Schofield
Rationale: Embley has been very, very poor. Schofield has better endurance and pace, which we will need against the WB. Has had good WAFL form in the midfield.

Out: Fletcher
In: Butler
Rationale: Was poor, very poor. Turnovers will absolutely kill us against the run and carry of WB.

Out: Hansen
In: Kennedy
Rationale: Hansen was shite, we need some defensive accountability and pressure up against a quality HB line.

Out: Nicoski
In: Wirra
Rationale: Nico was poor, Wirra is better. Simple.

Out: Masten
In: Swift/Jmac
Rationale: Masten was poor. If the coaching staff believe Swift can play out an entire match up against the hard running WB, then play him, otherwise go with Jmac.

Out: Mckinley
In: Scooter
Rationale: Combination of matchups and form. Mckinley was poor, and there won't be enough matchups down back for glass, mackenzie AND brown, so i would put brown up forward with kennedy and lecras.

B: Wirrapanda, Glass, Bones
HB: Hurn, Mackenzie, Schofield
C: Rosa, Priddis, Davis
HF: Scooter, Lynch, Selwood
F: Lecras, Kennedy, Swift

R: Cox, Kerr, Butler
INT: Stenglein, Hunter, Brown, Ebert

Notes: Selwood brothers playing as defensive half-forwards on rebounders like gilbee who have murdered us in the past. Adam is damaging with the ball in his hands on the attack as well. Priddis to go one on one with cross, Butler to Griffen, Kerr to Boyd or cooney
Bones vs Gia- Crucial matchup
Schofield vs Hill
Lynch and Hurn to try and break them on the counter attack with run and long kicking.
Swift is a good pack shark and is agile so he will be designated crumber.
Lynch to play lead up CHF, kennedy to use strength and marking closer to goals, Brown to replace Lynch at CHF when he is needed in the ruck.
Brown to go back when glass/mackenzie need a break, then lynch goes to CHF etc.
Kennedy and Lynch to interchange back up ruck role.

Probably too many changes yes, but i think the structure is about right, and whilst 'sending a message to the senior players' is nt a genuine reason, I think there are plenty of senior players that warrant dropping, especially considering our next opponent. Masten for swift is probably the most unneccessary change, so that could be omitted.

If our footskills cant deliver laceouts, and the usual boot inside50

we could stretch doggies short defence.

if you put masten in the forward line, does he know how to present/lead/position himself to crumb?

Masten may not be good in todays midfield, but hes a midfielder not a foward pocket specialist.

We should be conceeding to their gameplan. They are a much better team than us, in form and playing on a ground that suits them to a tee. Our tall forwards are not good enough to warrant the risk of being run off our legs. If we had some quality tall forwards who could take contested marks and actually make the opposition stick to them out of 'fear' and had a midfield that could consistently deliver good passes, then yes, other than that, No, just No. This game will be about how well we can stem their run and control damage.

i have no problem with scott and adam in the forward flanks for this so called 'speed' 'extra run'

but then having lynch and priddis in the middle, we are then too 'slow'.

Lecras, Mckinley, Hunter all deserve some defensive respect.

Having Masten in the forward pocket, Dale Morris we;ll eat him alive.

Wheres the plan to stem todays bombardment? Adding smaller players doesnt mean we are able to control damage.

Bulldogs are a high scoring team. Only way to control damage, is too kick goals the other end.

agree. We are simply nowhere near as good as the doggies and we need to play small to try and negate some of there run. If we lose by 5 goals or less I would consider it a reasonable effort

IN: Schofield Wirra Staker Houlihan
OUT: Hansen McKinley Masten Bones

The first two need to perform better the last two need some more fitness

How many of our talls would you back to get 3+ goal games in a shootout?
Where do you think WB get all their goals from?

You're probably right in regards to the Centre line, edited.

Anyone would be quicker than your half forward of hunter, kennedy and lynch. Only need Lynch or Kennedy on the half forward line.

Give me names sunshine.

Lynch and Kennedy will be roaming around the middle, not inside50.

Do you really believe Lynch Kennedy and Hunter will all be inside50 in todays game?

Seeing you named Masten in the forward pocket for someone to be quick in our half forward, shows you dont know anyone else who could play there.

It wont even be a shootout if we go small!

From todays game, only players that were dangerous infront of goals are Lynch, Mckinley, Lecras, Hunter.

Having Kennedy to present around the grounds will not be a flaw b/c we lack speed.

Posters always talk about speed. I want names.
