Disappointed that Williams is out. Also annoyed that Biggs has been dropped after just one week. Shitty for his confidence.

Happy to see Tommy in. Hope he smashes it for both the team and himself.

Quick aside though, if Redpath is actually injured please disregard. However if he is being rested just two weeks after serving a suspension and only five weeks into the season then he might as well retire.

Also those lamenting the selection of Honeychurch might be best served looking at what he can do rather than what he can't do. Smart at defensive positioning and tough as nails, a much needed presence without Libba and Picken.
Williams ear infection so cant fly but should be ok to drive to Etihad next Friday, Red has knee soreness I assume related to his recos and Bevo said Biggs needs to work on something but wasnt specific.

Williams can't be helped.
Knee soreness in a guy that big 20ish months after his last reco can't be good (if it's even true).
And Biggs shouldn't have been promoted in the first place if he had something to work on.

I am no knee expert but Clay Smith has also had issues and I did hear Menxel saying how he still gets ongoing soreness.
I don't think Biggs would have come back if it were not for Cordys indiscretion so no surprise he is back out for mine.

Has anyone seen Callum Porter play? Is he an inside mid?
If he is emergency then he could be Dalrymples parting gift at Pick 74
I've read a few good reports about him on this board but I suspect he's still a fair way off. Would love to be wrong though!

I'd say they thought the experience of going over with the team was worth him missing a VFL game early in his senior development. Also he will probably be missed by the VFL side a little less than any of the other emergencies - Biggs, Roughy, Young.

That said, if there does happen to be an unexpected late withdrawal (a rare occurrence if you don't count the ones where they knew somebody wasn't going to be fit enough to play but named him anyway to fool the opposition) then Porter has already shown enough to say that he would be an adequate last-minute replacement.

Yeah he's an inside mid. He's very hard at it and loves to chase and pressure. Needs to work on his kicking and fwd game at this stage.
Oh joy! Someone else who needs to work on his kicking (and shooting for goal too?) ... :(

How does he stack up against the much-maligned Honeychurch then? Description above sounds similar. Is he the same, or is he an upgrade?

He's better overhead (and taller) and quicker. Probably doesn't win as much ball as Honeychurch though.

And yeah, his kicking for goal needs improvement on what I've seen :'(

Because you feel like your always close to being dropped if your in and out all the time, it’s why coaches tell a player they have x amount of games in a row.

Bev would explicitly tell players what they need to do to play, there's no way that hasn't occurred.
Confidence is something a coach like Bev gives players. If your performances are poor like Biggs for example, saying hey mate play again, won't necessarily help.

He isn't low on confidence because he has been dropped. He's low on confidence because he has been playing poorly and it has manifested.

Forecast for Perth as of 4:20 this afternoon (6:20pm AEST). It's being revised down all the time. Looks like earlier rain - if any - would barely take the sting out of the ground. A shower or two during the game might make ball-handling and marking a bit harder but certainly no deluge. They're not expecting more than 1 mm.

Could even be dry. The real rain won't arrive until Sunday, 6 to 20 mm. Perth certainly needs it so let's hope it buckets down after the boys have taken off on Sunday with the 4 points secured.

Mostly sunny morning. Medium (50%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening. Light winds.

I'd feel a hell of a lot better about a dry track with Red, Hunter and Wiliams in. Sorta thought the wet might play into our hands a bit this week. Always take a hell of a lot more from a dry game though should be pretty good to watch I'd imagine

I thought Bevo had Biggs and/or Suckling in his sights at the presser last week when he referred to the help that Wood didn't get at times with Buddy. In a small back line being able to rely on that support when required would be crucial. Seems it was Biggsy who didn't meet expectations.
