Ainsworth needs to debut. Bring in some fresh blood. Its working for us so far. Keep it coming.

Spewing for DV. Hopefully not too bad.

In. Ainsworth
Out. Dv

Hoping that the MC think more “like for like”. We coped well up front with JK Darling and Waterman.

Out Venables In Partington (worst case Karpany)

Out Redden In Ainsworth (Hutchings a possible but time for another debutant)

Can not see Le Cras missing a game for a straight forward bump.

Redden should absolutely be being put on notice if he remains in the team this week. If he can't gather more then 20 touches against a team like Carlton, it's off to East Perth.

Btw, has anyone got an injury update on Venebles?

well, you're certainly true to your name.

You guys are funny....was chuckling in my coffee...you are joking right?
Well, if you're not and somehow the Blues beat us over there - because these things can happen in a close competition,
and stranger things have happened in football - you suck it up, focus on next game, win it and move on!
pack it in.......??? (you do know you can get over the counter toughen up princess pills?) ((;
Out: Venables, if it's serious.
In: Hutch or Ainsworth but would prefer AhChee just to see how he performs. Not sure Petrucelle is ready yet?
What are these pills you speak of? I thought concrete was a schedule 9 drug not OTC

Yeah, I'm all aboard the packing it in train if we lose to the Blues.
I packed the season in after JLT derby and Robert Walls. I unpacked after we won 3 on the trot . Im not packing again even if we lose to Carlton and Ep2000 and bucket have packed again.
For my 2 bobs worth
The team is on a wave, no one played a howler , no one deserves to be dropped we dont even know weather conditions yet . It is good that EP last game we had a good contribution and have a few players deserving consideration. I thought Perucelle was our best in the AFLX and has the pace we have lost in Ryan and Venables .

This close competition you speak of: the blues ain't part of it. They are beyond terrible. A lock for the bottom couple of spots since before the season started. We absolutely should beat them and we will. The only way we lose, the tiniest of possibilities, is if something monumentally bad happens to us or how we play: in which case, a lot of people will be asking questions about every aspect of the organisation.

I am generally quite optimistic about the club and our players. If I'm not being a 'tough princess' or whatever by having some extremely minimal expectations (i.e. beating the competition basketcase), that's fine by me. Everyone has a point where they lose hope for a season. We saw a lot of people reach this point last season, although I don't think from memory I was ever one of them. Unfortunately, I wasn't packing with you in JLT either, boondy! But here I'm saying if we lose to the Blues, this will be a worse loss than any we've had in the last half decade or so.

Maybe I am being too harsh on the Blues, but I have trouble seeing them winning more than a handful of games this year. Maybe you guys rate them more highly than I do, or don't rate us as highly as I do?

Happy to change my mind if anyone can convince me that the Blues have anything at all going for them right now :rainbow: but I don't think it's so unreasonable to accept this claim: "West Coast won't be able to win a premiership this year if they can't even beat Carlton at the G".

I agree, I just don't get how he actually got concussed. If you look at the slow mo, his head definitely didn't hit the ground

You can get concussed from the brain smashing the inside of your skull.

A hard knock and sudden change of direction and it's common.

People have lowered their standards considerably with Redden

Unfortunately for him, he's not Cyril Rioli who can still impact the game and get away with having 10 touches a game. He's a 167 game midfielder.

10 touches at 50%DE with 3 clangers. No clearances, no goal assists. This is what we gave up a first round pick for.

You don't have to be hit directly in your head to suffer a concussion - it can occur from a whiplash like effect where your brain and head are moved back and forth quickly.

Looking at Essendon who were putrid last week, it shows how a team can bounce back.

Will need to be wary of Carlton I think, especially at the G.

I wouldn't be looking to make many changes, if Venables needs a break then I think Hutchings in to tag Cripps.

This is who we missed out on to get Redden, we took Partington at 28.

Really costing us...

So, because some clubs have failed to develop those players enough yet, Redden gets a free pass in this team week in week out?

It didn't cost us enough so, all good? That about right?

And you have faith we’d be able to develop them better??

I was just thinking that. The counter argument from one of the voices in my head was that Essendon have managed to play some good football this year whereas Carlton have about 15 minutes of good footy in the first quarter of the first game to hang their hat on.
