F*CK that. I'm pissed. We ain't winning a premiership this year, and Simpson is picking a team to keep his neck clean, and finish ninth/tenth... We are f*cked

O'Neill was part of a midfield that got flogged last week.
Harsh call I guess but fu**. I want to win and Shuey or Yeo or Kelly over O'Neill will increase those odds.

yeh think it more points to how good Dixon has played, I rewatched the last half against Collingwood last night and thought he was our best in the second half, he was everywhere.![]()
Champion data stats say West Coast BETTER without Naitanui
Surprise Champion Data statistics show West Coast have performed better when Nic Naitanui has been on the bench than when he has been on the field this season.www.perthnow.com.au
This surprised me because it used to be the reverse but it does highlight how Nic hasn’t had his usual influence
And more reason to like Dixons game

Naish is still playing. Jones is still playing. Willie through the guts. Let's see if O'Neill can crack 20 touches in the WAFL.
Naish will be leading our club champion count after this weekend.Hurn, Foley and Naish now the only players who could potentially have played all five games,
Will it though?
It hasn't in the past. Consider the intensity that midfield showed in Hurns 300th last year, compared to Edwards, West and XON on the weekend.
(Shuey didn't play. Yeo had 20 and 3 tackles, Kelly had 20 and 1 tackle - lost by 45 points)
But that’s not the point. What is the guy supposed to do to keep his spot?O'Neill was part of a midfield that got flogged last week.

I agree with you but with Shuey, Yeo and Kelly in XON would've been set up to fail on the HFF getting 8 touches. Better off he gets a pat on the back and told that now he's shown his ability at AFL level to go back and prove he's too good for the WAFL. If he's worth persisting with I don't think that's so terrible for his development.I have my doubts about Exxon long term, but what more did they want him to show? I think some on here are overvaluing how great his game was, but it was absolutely a good game and the absolute upper limit of what anyone could reasonably expect when he was sent out there.
Comfortably his best game for the club - whether his best is good enough is another chat. We picked him out of desperation, he did as well as you reasonably could to grasp that opportunity.
Most of the changes are fine. Yeo ramped up in the WAFL, Shuey ramped up for weeks. I’m not concerned about them being underdone. Gov and NN out, the changes make themselves.
I’d rather Exxon play for Waterman and be hidden on a HFF, to the tune of eight touches and maybe four centre bounces as a token gesture, than for him to be dropped entirely.
Hate the message. You did as well as anybody could have expected but we also won’t play you next week.
Keep in mind we’re still missing Sheed and Gaff (though Naish was an unexpected boon there). With that said, why did we give Exxon a contract? He’s on the list purely to play when we’re down to our final options? We have to be missing Yeo, Shuey, Kelly, Gaff, Sheed for him to get a gig? Even if he performs as well as he reasonably could we don’t think that’s good enough for a longer look in the team?
Shocking for morale to not back him in, and if I’m being too emotional about it as this is a business, shocking business decision to sign someone they clearly have no intention of using or developing.
"But we want to build a winning culture!"It's hard to tell what the point is when some people are advocating we lose cos we won't win the premiership this year.
Yeah. I'd like to see XON get another run but LEdwards had a better third game than anything XON has produced in the 3-4 years he's been on the list, with another 2 still to come. He has plenty of time to impress. I hope he does.I agree with you but with Shuey, Yeo and Kelly in XON would've been set up to fail on the HFF getting 8 touches. No way in the world does JK play in the Magoo's.On paper, this team is very close to our B22. It will be interesting to see how we fit Gaff and Allen back in. It really looks like Allen will probably force JK into the 2s (as I really hope they won't be putting him into the ruck and dropping Dixon/Williams).
Gaff is the hard one. Naish has well and truly earnt his spot, so do we drop Nelson? Or Rotham? That would require Shuey/Yeo to play HB. I wouldn't want to drop a HFF unless Kelly or Shuey take the role.
4 injured outs, 2-3 other changes.
Reckon Willie and JJ could be out. Willie was pretty banged up and JJ looked off the pace plus had the head taped up.
Can't recall any other incidents. Hough might need a week in the ice bath after playing against men all year so far.
