why don't we field a team comprised of posters here on this board. We'll still get super smashed anyways, but at least we'd show more passion....

Out: Head, Crowley, Dodd, Gilmore, Bradley,
In: De Boer, Clarke, Broughton, Campbell, Murphy

I'd probably look at dropping Pav as well. I don't know what is happening with him. I don't expect him to win the games single-handedly, but at least to show a good example as a captain of the club. He's doing nothing at the moment. Also McPharlin, if he's not fit then don't play him. It was a mistake to bring Hayden too early as it was obvious that he wasn't 100% fit.

I dont know if dropping the Captain is the answer.
A leader is only as good as his followers and the followers right now have left a lot to be desired.

Hey at least we're not Richmond...

You are not thinking about what you are doing (Not that you have any say of course.LOL)

McPharlin needs to be in the backline with Tarrant (Johnson goes if anyone.) Mc is one of the few players that can win their position in our average team.
Bradley is not our worst, Gilmore needs to see if he can play in the WAFL let alone the AFL.
Hill should not be dropped, Period! We have a great young talent here and he needs as much match time as we can have, he gives 100% Not many of our players can say that at the moment.

Head for Broughton, yes. Head to NEVER play for us again.
Schammer (if suspended) replaces by de Boer.

Nothing much for us to look forward to. Nobody appart from Clarke is really banging on the door.

6 changes is hardly ideal though, hopefully they get the biggest rocket ever this week and come out firing next week.

Sorry but I agree with Scham on Hill. He is far too weak, can't tackle, barely gets the chance to use or show his speed and apart from 5minutes against the crows has been a waste. He needs to develop more in the wafl and other more afl ready players like de boer should be given the chance to play.

He may turn out ok in the future or in a start studded team but at the moment he is really struggling. I still believe we made a big mistake here and although I'm probably going to cop it for saying this, Rich, Hartlett and Ziebell all seem to be much better prospects.

Needs to be dropped along with Head, Dodd, Crowley, Gilmore etc.

Yep.

I rated Hartlett the top mid, and was much more oriented to what we needed. A fast Haselby clone who won a lot of clearances...

Anyone know when Ballantyne will be fit? Pre season reports were saying hed play round 4.

And whats the deal with Head? Every week I come in here and every week his name is the first on the chopping block yet every week he seems to play...

We have two home games in row. We have played some good footy over the last 4 weeks but mostly crap. The objective should still be to win games. It sounds inviting to play all the new talent but if they aren't our best 22 then playing them just for the sake of it so early in the season is nonsensical. Stick as close as we can to the players that should be our best and tell them they can play good footy it just a matter of doing more often.
So with all intentions of winning this week and depending on injury and match review committee I wouldn't do any wholesale changes.

If Zac Clarke is ready then he can't be any worse the Kepler at the moment.
Head seems to be improving and I'll accept that he is going to play.
Gilmore is kicking pretty good and his decision making looks better. He needsto be more aggressive in the air and use his size around stoppages but no reason to drop him.
All the rest of our low achievers are good players who are having a bad run and they shouldn't give in. So be it.

By the way I just watched the Black Night clip from Monty Python on youtube.

I think Hill is going to be a sensational player. There were times we were getting pumped yesterday and the only Freo player in camera shot chasing and tackling was Hill. Other players have already been quoted in interviews that he lifts them when he takes the game on. It's unfortunate (at the moment) that he was taken high in a draft where there we several ready made, very good midfielders. Ziebel, Rich, Hartlett, Zaharakis all look very good early one but I believe Hilly will hold his own as a genuine gamebreaker in a few years. Whether it was the smart pick will be debated from as long as he plays but I love what I see so far.
Yes he's too weak to make tackles stick but you simply cannot question his endeavor or determination. I think it would set a terrible example to drop a young player who is putting older ones to shame with his work rate & effort.

He had a pin out of his wrist, but sadly, it seems to have developed an infection, and he may never play again.

He might not ever regain function of his hand. :(

Spot on :thumbsu:

I think we also miss the options of Ballantyne, Mayne, Campbell and perhaps O'Brien as I think these players would really help give us some spark. Hill is about the only one out there that can do that at the moment.

Good call Stronzo, I hope to see these 3 or at least 2 of this week! :thumbsu:

We may as well get some AFL experience into the young guys.

I agree with this comment, but unfortunately at the moment he isn't trying.
I just can't stomach players who have the talent but don't try. Some of his half hearted efforts on Sat night were some of the laziest things I've ever seen on a footy field and I'm not just talking AFL! He refused to chase, he simply allowed his man to run off him, both when he was forward or back and he couldn't give a fck!

He's been like that all yearm needs a serious attitude readjustment at Moss Street

Yeah, the poor guy needs to at least be able to jerk off on the footy field like the rest of the team before he gets a run.

The one positional change that I would make this week is Pavlich to CHB. Right now, he seems to be devoid of desire. If he is down back, he will be seeing a hell of a lot more of the ball than at present, which means he won't have time to stand around thinking about how useless everyone else is. He's also capable of actually getting the ball and giving it a decent kick, unlike alot of other guys in our backline at the moment.

A confident and firing Pav will bring everyone up with him. He needs to be where the ball is, and the ball is in our backline shitloads.
