At least someone had a sense of humour in the freo coaching box, well they must have to start f**king Dodd on Riewoldt. What a f**king joke that was.

Out: Dodd, Head, Crowley, Schammer (suspended), Bradley
In: Broughton, Hinkley, De Boer, Clarke, Murphy (kicked 10 goals in 2 weeks)

Campbell did nothing again this week for WP.

Murphy meanwhile did nothing in Round 1 when he was given a chance, and kicked a huge 5 goals in 9 games last year.

Campbell should be given a chance to cement a spot in the forward line before Murphy. If we have learnt anything about Murphy in the last few years, it's that his WAFL performances mean nothing.

Both Campbell and Murphy have been given opportunities to cement a spot in our team, neither have. They've had limited game times, granted, but that's probably because they aren't working hard enough when they are out there.

For better or worse, we have Campbell signed until the end of this year, and Murphy until the end of next year. I would suggest it is time to give Campbell a decent run for 5 or so games to see if he can cut it. If not, Murphy gets his turn and Campbell goes at the end of the year. There's no point waiting until Round 15 to give Campbell a go, we may as well make a decision based on how hungry he is right now.

Hey guys i just want to know if hill will keep his spot, how is brougton going with his ankle.

Who is actually in good form in the WAFL? Not many players are actually stepping up. Duffield was a stand-out in his week back at Souths, that's what we need to see more of. Gifting guys games just because someone else is inept doesn't sit well with me.

Clarke seems to be playing well by all reports. Not actually having seen him play I'm unsure though, someone else could confirm. At the moment Bradley isn't offering anything other than his back-up ruck ability. That alone shouldn't be keeping him in the side. If you're only in the side because you're tall something is wrong.

Murphy has kicked 10 goals in the last 2 weeks in the WAFL. It's a very different role to what Harvey had him playing in round 1 though. Personally I feel we need one of Campbell or Murphy playing out of the goal square. It really does straighten us up and give us an option for all our lolli-pop hail mary passes into the forward 50. Lead-Mark-Kick-Chase-Tackle should be all our third forward has to worry about. Murphy has been doing all these things in the WAFL.

What about midfielders are any of them playing well? de Boer wasn't overly impressive against Souths. Did a good job on Bell in the second, plus his decision making was pretty good. Really didn't do enough to warrant a call up to the majors though. What about Hinkley or O'Brien? Who else is there? Foster played ressies which is about the only positive news from this weekend.

I said at the start of the week that we'd play Dodd on Riewoldt. The sad thing is it was obvious we would try it, and obvious that it would fail.

I agree with your changes, though I'd bring Drum in instead of Murphy ... even though he hasn't done anything. Murphy's WAFL form should be ignored, and he should not be played again. Would like to bring someone in for Gilmore and Solomon, not sure who is left though.

Byron Schammer, Fremantle, has been charged a Level One offence for making forceful contact from front-on against Farren Ray, St Kilda, during the third quarter of the Round Four match between Fremantle and St Kilda, played at Docklands on Saturday April 18, 2009.

In summary, his existing five-year good record means he can accept a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing five-year good record, which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record.

With Schammer able to play this week, I don't think we will be seeing DeBoer unless Crowley is dropped. Even then he might not get a game.

In: Clarke, Campbell
Out: Bradley, Crowley

OUT - IN
Crowley - De Boer
Mcpharlane - Campbell
Head - Broughton
Bradley - Clarke
Hill - Hinkley

So the side would look like;

B: Hayden, Tarrant, Broughton
HB: Grover, Johnson, Dodd
C: Mundy, Haselby, Ibbo
HF: De Boer, Pavlich, Peake
F: Palmer, Campbell, Soloman
R: Sandi, Schammer, Duffield
INT: Clarke, Hinkley, Suban, Gilmore

I know I'm kidding myself, but this is what should happen!

Good news about Schammer....puzzling though.

Doesn't the match review panel know he plays for freo? Same with Luke last week....

hmmm.....

I must admit, I thought it looked terrible at the time. I made a comment that I thought it would be 4 weeks, pleased he is available as I think he is one of the few who are genuinely trying his guts out.

I'm actually surprised that any of our players have a 5 year good record.

Its pretty simple in my head:

Return Mundy to the backline and include a rookie midfielder:

IN: DeBoer
OUT: Head

If Broughton is fit:

IN: DeBoer, Broughton
OUT: Head, Gilmore

Out: Bradley, Head, Dodd
In: Clarke, Broughton (hopefully), Hinkley

and move mundy back to the backs

get rid of three mid aged duds and bring in three bright looking kids.

Agree totally, by getting rid of head we are already making ourselves a 3-4 goal better side. That is by not turning over the ball like Head does resulting directly in 3-4 goals a week.

Mundy in the backline is logical, he has good skills and if we make him accountable for a player directly he should pull his finger out.

We have to stop the leaking in defence, getting the talent and determination down there (Tarrant has been great.) we should at least reduce the losses.

Outs:
Bradley - Has shown none of the promise that was evident last year, needs to go back to the WAFL to regain confidence
Dodd - Horrible, horrible desicion making and skills:thumbsd:

Ins:
Clarke - Looked impressive, couldn't do any worse than Bradley, surely...:(
Broughton - Solid in his debut game, cool under pressure.:thumbsu:
(Or if injured)
DeBoer - Runs hard, disposal hasn't been a problem so far.

Outs - Dodd, Bradley, Head, Hill (if Broughton fit)
Ins - De Boer, Campbell, Hinkley, Broughton (if fit)

I think we should rotate the youngsters and give them extended runs. But also give them a break back in the WAFL from time to time, to not burn them out but also allow them to work on weaknesses (lessons) that are highlighted in their games in the top flight. This weak against a physical Sydney team it might be worth while giving Hill a rest.
