I said during the preseason that Pav no longer has the wherewithal to be a damaging key forward. He was never quick off the mark and is now painfully slow.
A swap between Pav and McPharlin would be interesting. McPharlin, in my opinion, would not only be a good marking target but would add pace and life to what is sometimes a moribund forward set up. Major downer is of course suspect kicking. That should/would improve with more time spent playing in the forward area. Trouble is people would mark it as a failure if he didn't kick 5 or 6 every other week.
At Pav's time of life, and given his strength and the depth of his kicking, half back or wing could recreate the Pav we used to know and love.

Spurr will play, moving Duffield to the midfield.
Roberton will be the sub.
Silvagni is emergency and will stay that way.

Suns don't have tall forwards unless Zac Smith and Bock go down there...

Bock is a very good and dangerous player player from the HBL to the forward line but without the support of their young players at the moment running the lines, he is like a duck with one wing (runs around a lot but without much affect). Zac Smith is a good raw ruckman but his work off the ball is IMO is not a strenght of whats needed at the moment for them through him to be affective - if Smth is moved forward our crumbers will have a field afternoon as their structure is such to go 2-3 up for the high ball without the smarts to feed off the crumbs, if they go tall its a cake walk for our back line players as they won't match it with our speed and experiance, the key to this game is to pressure their midfield the whole game and they will crack without the great GA to dictate the control to date they have had and they will need to drive it to their forwards. Purple by 12 goals for mine and another nail in Bluey's Box.

Kepler Bradley kicked 1.7 goals per game last year.

That's more than...

N Reiwoldt (1.6)
C Dawes (1.5)
M. Hurley (1.5)
T Hawkins(1.5)
J. Roughead (1.4)
J. Waite ( 1.3)
J Koschitzke (1.2)
and the most overrated forward in the comp ... J Darling (1.0)

M Walters kicked 1.3 goals per game

We are not kicking goals because the structure isn't right and we aren't picking the right blokes. Both problems are easily fixed.

So what you are saying is that because Darling didn't kick more than a goal a game in his first year he isn't any good?
Well in his first 5 games in 2012 he has kicked 12 goals, taken 29 marks and is 66.6% from his shots on goals.

Does that mean that Darling is better than all of the players that you have listed in only his second year? Or that perhaps he is twice the player that he was in 2011?

Our leading goalkicker (Mayne) has 7 goals Has taken 22 marks and is kicking a 100%. Chopper has been great but he seriously needs assistance. This is the real issue, we dont have enough quality forwards who kick enough goals!

If the problem is so easily fixed, why have we not already fixed it?
