I believe that Vossy has to make a stand and drop some big names. Well not big games but guys that haven't been dropped yet. I had Clark being dropped but I think he has to stay in and the main problem is that he can't play FF and the delivery to him is very poor. ACorn must play FF (there is no other option) and the Leuenberger forward experiment to send.

OUT: Banfield, Patfull, Collier, McCauley and Polkinghorne

IN: Drummond, Karnezis, Cornelius, Harwood and Bewick/Buchanan (fitness pending)

Would like to give Retzy a go but Clark is the CHF and there is no room for two CHFs.

Think the side needs to drop some of the experienced blokes who just aren't performing good enough.

Out: McGrath, Collier, Polkinghorne, Banfield, McCualey

In: Karnezis, Drummond, Harwood, J Green, Bewick.

Not sure I'd drop Banfield. We certainly need more from him in an attacking sense but his forward defensive work is still quite good.

Patfull I thought was okay. Was lost in the forwardline but did allright defensively. Probably on the margins but he's certainly ahead of Collier and Maguire at the moment.

Polkinghorne though has to be in the gun. His disposal just isn't improving.

McCauley has to go. The Leuenberger-Clark structure has now failed miserably two weeks in a row, and I can't imagine that its going to get any better before Brown returns. No space for McCauley with Luey in the ruck, I'm afraid.

McGrath is another one we can't really afford to drop. His form is certainly down, but our backline is already struggling with pacy forwards without making it even slower.

I don't agree with those who are saying we should make five or six changes this week. We really didn't play any worse than we have in the last three weeks, in my view. Plus we put ourselves at risk if we play too many kids against the GC. We have a natural advantage of strength and experience this week and we shouldn't throw it away.

That said:

Out: Collier, Polkinghorne, McCauley
In: Drummond, Cornelius, Bewick (or Harwood if Bewick can't get up)

Some very harsh people in here. Also do people really think bringing in more small young players is going to help us much ? Harwood is probably getting close to a game, but is the likes of Karnezis and Green really up to AFL level yet ?

Some of the ins will pick themselves, such as Drummond and Bewick (if fit). Can't understand people calling for Banfield and Polka to get dropped, what is that going to accomplish. The call for banfield inparticular is mind boggling to me.

I think Banfield should be dropped because from my point of view he has not improved apart from the defensive side of his game. If playing AFL is not helping him get more of the ball and kick more goals then perhaps playing midfield in the twos will help him to become more damaging.

In the first 11 rounds of 2010 he had 113 possessions in the final 11 rounds he had 110. Average of 10 per game. This year he has had 45 touches in 5 games an average of 9 per game.

I know stats can be used to prove almost anything but offensively he has gone backwards and something has to be done to reverse this trend. Gaining midfield experience in my opinion will do this however he needs to prove he can play in the midfield in the reserves to then be able to get the chance in the seniors.

Polks for me has been very underwhelming this year and needs to make a step up. He would not make the best 22 in most top 8 sides this season because he has little impact on the game and goes missing for large chunks. He has had a lot of opportunity at senior level and I wouldn't be against cutting him at seasons end if he does not improve.

Would hate to see McCauley dropped. He has performed well. The last thing we need to do now is put young players on a merry go round. That's what happened to Essendon pre Hird. Player development should be our focus for the rest of the season.

The question is M&B is what we do with Leuey. He's not working up forward and is too good of a ruckman to not be used as one. Clark can ruck too (pretty bloody well when he feels like it).

I'm a big McCauley fan but I am not at all a fan of this two ruck forward line.

Need players who can run and tackle and pressure the opponent, didnt see enough of this from what I watched, though we did well to score 98 points as a positive, but we let three players run rings around us we are either too slow or dont have correct defensive structures they need to be fixed scoring 98 you would have a 42% chance of winning the game so we are just off a pass mark, i hate seeing our rucks as fowards but they all need to learn to be foward targets and wow we have three quality ruckman as a positive end of rant Iwill be most upset if we dont gold caost by at least 10goals I miss the thrahings we used to hand out

If Banfield does stay - i would swap him with McGrath for a quarter or two - give him a run down back to get a touch for the ball and mcgrath up forwrd. Worked for Chris Johnson!

Exactly. One game we we should be able to take advantage of greater experience, the last thing we should do is think we can just turn up and win it, therefore we should throw more kids in.

OUTS
- Maguire
- Collier
- Stiller

For mine, Maguire and Collier are the only ones in the team that really aren't up to it at this point in time. Maguire is severely lacking in pace (seeing Miller easily out sprint him was the final straw). Collier has very few redeeming qualities - the only one I can think of is that he can (try to) play as a tall defender.

Stiller is also borderline - but I think that will be the case for the rest of his career (and apart from the Richmond game, he has actually been OK'ish this year).

Clark was horrible, but that is Clark. He is just like Brennan - one week he is a star, the next he is the dregs. I don't think that will ever change. If he is woeful against the Gold Coast then I would drop him.

Banfield had a bad night against Richmond, but it wasn't for a lack of effort - nothing really went right for him. God if we could, I would clone the guy and put another couple of him in our team.

McCauley - I thought he was sort of OK; it is just a question on how we want to structure our forward line and whether Voss believes that Retzlaff deserves a go.

INS
- Bewick - a certainty if he is fit
- Drummond (?) - it will be interesting if we bring him back this week or next
- Green or Harwood - deserve a chance to impress in the seniors

Retzlaff would also have to be a chance, as would Buchanan. However, I would be surprised if Voss brought Acorn straight back in (despite his 7 goals).

What Voss will actually do will be interesting because he definitely doesn't seem to see it the same way I do.

We really need someone in this week that will help us with clearances, for most of the game we were absolutely smashed in them. During the third quarter when we came back, we had a very good run with getting clearances out (Black in particular). Definitely would like to see Green or Harwood in there.

Don't quite know why Maguire was brought back so soon. In Voss's words he was there to "build match fitness". Don't know why he couldn't have done that in the reserves before a return. That said I don't think he'll be dropped. Still think he will be well worth his place once he's played a few games.

Out: Collier, McGrath

In: Cornelius, Drummond

See no reason to bring Buchanan back into the team ever. X Clarke probably needs a few games in the reserves.
