I

wonder why Jetta is playing so badly - has he never grasped Simmo's gameplan? Also notice the other players don't use him much but perhaps that's because they don't have much confidence in him? He should be playing much better than he is. Does anybody know how his form was when playing for Sydney in his last 2 years there.
His last two years at Sydney were very poor. He has soft and unsighted in contested games against kids such as the Pies.
he kicked the occasional joe the goose where Sydney flooded and he could wander into open space (50M form another players) but that was his only contribution. He wasn't using pace just relying on an unaccountable opposition. He had stopped breaking lines. Having seen him train this year I am not sure he can run.

I was staggered we took him.

You'll want someone who doesn't care about the ball on Gray. You start giving him a few meters or hunting the ball and he'll get 30 and 3.

Question, having only seen you guys once this year V Richmond in what was a really poor performance, can anyone explain to an outsider exactly what seems to be causing your inconsistency? You guys really finished strong in 2016 and I thought you were set for a big 2017 on the back of a couple ready to go recruits, but now I'm not sure what to expect. Is it purely the loss of Natanui?
We cant play the MCG well is one theory as the ground is much wider and our mids get exposed. We beat Port & The crows in Adelaide, GWS at Spotless.

Second theory is we are mentally weak when the heat is on.

We don't have enough of a spread of goal kickers

He is a bit like me at work, he pretends to care but he really doesn't care at all but still wants to get paid.

You have to assume he is thinking something is going to ping off the bone if he breaks into anything more testing then a jog and a sidestep.

I think we will only have changes due to injury but I have no idea who is going to get up and who isn't.

I'd dearly like Bard Sheppard to wake the **** up sometime soon though. Wellers still slaughtering the footy 80% of the time too. Surely there will be some heat on them if Cole, Nelson etc get up and running in some form.

Port have looked impressive but they haven't beaten anyone of note yet....like us i guess.

Out: Vardy (Inj)
In: Mcinnnes

Mcinnnes has been playing some decent footy over the last two months so he deserves a gig. If there are no injuries then leave Vardy in. If Mutimer and Duggan are sore...Well i guess Hutchings and Jetta... Personally i think they will be fine to go.

Is Boak going to be a 100% from a hammy strain? They are usually a 2-3 injury and not a one weeker plus they might want to save him for the trip to China. R Gray is reported to be playing sore with a groin injury but is still having a massive impact up front so he is one to watch.

Butler Gov Shep
Yeo Barrass Hurn

Wellers Pridds Gaff

Mutimer Mcinnes Darling
Hill JK Lecra

Ruck: Giles, Shuey, Sheed

Mitchell Redden Duggan Masten

lol at people asking for Mut to be dropped. Its just one game, his first game, surely you don't expect the dude to have 35 touches. Give the Kid 2, 3 games in a row. If he is dropped, it is an utter joke from coaching staff.

I agree with this, I was at game and kept an eye on him. He put himself in good positions on several times in the corridor but was ignored and the ball moved wide along the wing. Seems to me that in play, guys tend to use/pass to people that are part of the senior more established players and the new guy simply gets ignored until it becomes more habitual for his teammates to start using him.

Important that Giles has adequate back up so he can be as physical as possible with Ryder to try and take some sting out of him.

Fraser should get his shot if Vardy doesn't come up IMO. Another runner isn't going to help us if we can't break even around the ball.

Watching Shep's body language, I think he may be carrying a niggle which is preventing him from playing to his potential. At times he looked like he was hobbling? Should Cole get match fit, maybe they will play him and rest Shep?

Karps to play in front of friends and family would be nice reward for his efforts over the past 12 months, where he's managed to avoid delisting and put himself in contention to make the 22.

You'd imagine he's at least going to travel, given the doubt surrounding a few blokes.

East Perth also have a bye so there's no game for him to play if he doesn't travel

LOL at Shuey stating Port Adelaide as the form team of the comp. Surely he mixed them up with the crows.

We've got this. us by 28

Whatever happens on the weekend this needs to be borne in mind

Meanwhile we have these 10 players unavailable

Lycett
Cripps
Nelson

Rioli
Tunbridge
Partington

Waterman

And these four in doubt that em we're aware of

Mitchell

Mutimer

It's a stark difference

Edwards will be a huge out. averages a goal and 31.3 touches v Port in the last few years.

If you look at the percentage Port are not far behind Adelaide. They have the second best percentage out of the teams in the 8. Not sure how bad their losses have been, but going by their percentage I would say not too much.

beaten sydney, freo, bris, and blues. Apart from swans game they have put away really average sides at home. Its a bit like us last year At the moment port are better side than us but i wouldn't say they are one of the form sides when they haven't beaten a single top 8 side.

So what you're saying is they're flat track bullies?

Fair enough so I guess we will find out this weekend where we are at. In recent times we have had a fairly good record playing at Adelaide Oval, but we do have to take into consideration as to whether our boys are switched on or not and turn up to play?

yes.

This game IMO has to be treated like our 2015 Port game or even the tigers game at the G in the same year. A win will really get our boys and confidence up but more importantly it will be the first time that we would have played 4 quarters of footy and had close to every one in form. Need to have 4 quarters of the first quarter from the derby.
