I also think that Jericho's future hangs in the balance this year and for a guy that has a promising start as a youngster the club most probably wants to see what they could be giving up.

I have no issues with jericho getting an opportunity to prove himself and sometimes it takes more than one or two games to see what they have to offer.

I was critical of Jerichos first game.
Now; Im not so sure.

We must bank on him lifting a knotch b4 we drop him....

Fantastic to have Radar back. Was top 3 in the B&F before he went down. Watch the drive through the midfield pick up immensely. :thumbsu:

Stiffy is a great inclusion, I'd like to see him spend some time up forward.

Also the inclusion of Porps is brilliant too.

Burton finally gets a rest :thumbsu:

Yes I find something new to complain about every week, but seriously, this is a disgrace. As everyone is well aware I’m not much of a fan of Bernie Vince, but why has Luke Jericho, a man with no future at the AFC, been retained ahead of Vince? Why is Jericho still playing? We have 3 players returning from injury, and Jericho still holds his place in the team? I’m starting to get a little concerned that the butter boy could push for a permanent spot in our 22 even with everyone up and running.
And like clock work, Drummond's bitchfest continues

Earlier in the week, I said no way Craig brings in all 3 at once. It just shows I know **** all about football :D

Agree with all of that. I guess what Im saying is that SANFL form should not be the only criteria by which a player should be picked. If that were the case the Griffatron may still be running around in the ressies for the Dogs and we'd have people talking about delisting him at the end of the year.

agreed. although there is no question that it isn't, so there's no real concern there.

I just think Pfieffer needs an opportunity regardless of his SANFL stats. I would have thought he was in line in front of Douglas, Vince, Hinge and Jericho before he broke his cheek.

the difference, is going to be the club's opinion of the player, and where they think he is at, and with what they have set.

we all know the club was a big wrap for griffin, long before we fully appreciated why.

Perhaps the non-sanfl factors are not yet blowing in Pfeiffer's favour?

How exactly has he been good? He’s run up and down the wing with no one even close to him. It’s not hard to look good with no opponent and no one applying pressure. The only thing Jericho has proven to me in his 2 games are that he’s still soft at the contest, is afraid to cop contact, and is still slack and tries to take one handed marks. He will be found out under pressure against quality, physical sides.

You seriously watch a different game to me Drummond! ;)

I'm afraid I'm watching the same game as Drummond, I try to like Jericho and he's possibly done enough to keep his place for another week but if I see him squib another contest I may just scream.

I'd like to see him actually get close to a contest before I pass judgement. I agree - being at the match last week, it was very clear to see that he was just running around without a man - even when they had the ball and everybody else was manning up.

It was a better game than I expected from him, but he was still the same old Jericho.

Jericho did look soft at times, but I am glad he has been given another go. This should do his confidence no end of good. Hopefully he will improve again this week and when he is replaced by Burton or Roo (no disgrace that) he will hopefully get some good SANFL games under his belt and actually demand a spot back in the team.

what was wrong with his last game ???

they have him starting in the FP, so it will be interesting to see how long he last down there. if he could improve his accuracy then he maybe a chance to kick a few

If it's anything like last week he will blaze away under pressure whilst others are open and in a better position to score. That is what I was critical of his game as well as pulling out of contests. He kept the ball too long whilst there were options open and then clearly picked the wrong one and the opposition cleared the ball constatly.

But as I said he deserves more of a go whilst we are still in the position to keep him in the side. Then if he doesn't show more than what he has, he has to be dropped. It's as simple as that.

I figure Luke Jericho is to some like Scott Welsh is to me.

I dont rate Welsh, but while he continues to perform as he has been doing then I will sit back and support his right to play each week.

I dont rate Luke Jericho either but while he continues to do the things the club asks and ( as it seems to me ) provides a link along the hbf and wing then I will support his right to play each week

I do want him to find a hard ball, I do want him to crack heads, I do want him to be on the bottom of a pack.... but like Des Headland if thats not his game then you work with what you have..or dont have ;)

who gets more gametime griffen or hudson?? just a dt question ;)
Honesty is always the best policy. :D

I've gone with Griff on the ground this week and left Huddo and Darcy on the bench. Griff gets opportunities in the forward line so is likely to get a few more points and a little more time on the ground. Huddo is ruck or bench, but Griff can rest in the forward line.

Also, we found out this week that Griff is aboriginal, so this week I will see him as about 20% more dynamic.

I find myself agreeing with you yet again Drummond.

Ermmmmm, someoneswatching a different game in this case, and I don't think it's Drummond. :)

Actually, no. I think it is a case of too many of you (who just happen to be anti Jericho) looking through blood streaked glasses (as you all repeatedly call for his sacking). The lad had a heap of the ball in the last game - and didn't make too many mistakes. He was central to setting up a couple of goals and played far better than the likes of Vince and Douglas. You buggers have just "made up your damned minds" and can't see good play for sheer bloody mindedness.

Please don't get me wrong, I believe Jericho has much to prove at this level. However, I call it how I see it, and I honestly believe he was one of our best last week.

Were you at the game? That is the question.
All of us there could see how unaccountable he was.
As I said earlier, he played better than I expected, and I don't think it was a bad game from him - but it certainly wasn't a good game simply because he yet again made no effort to man up on several crucial occassions. I lost count of the number of times I looked across the field whilst the ball was in Richmond's control, and everybody had a man apart from Luke.

I fully appreciate that Luke has to play to his strengths, and that means running off his man down the wing. This is no excuse, however, for lazy football.

Nope, wasn't at the game so obviously can only go from what I saw on the coverage - and from what I saw he had a good game. Have to ask the question, where was HIS man??? Perhaps he kept getting free and the Richmond player was too lazy to man-up ;)

Lets give him one more game - he'll probably be gone the following week anyway:D
