Bucks made it pretty clear in his presser that late in the game we really lacked Moore's arial work so I wouldn't be surprised to see McLarty debut at all.

He Deserves To

He wasnt going that great before he was rested.

He was going ok. Was winning the ball and was getting involved. Never had him best 22, but I thought he was doing enough. I wouldn't have rushed him straight back in though considering he'd spent a few weeks either been rested or used as a carry over. Thought he'd need a confidence game in VFL first, and we could have used Fasolo, or alternatively the brute force of Wills.

For now, I think he needs to go back to VFL level for a while and work on his skills.

I get the comparisons to Blair. I think Brown has more upside. Seems more a midfielder than Blair and has a few more tricks. But he has a fair bit of work to do.

I think it said a lot yesterday that our better players were all half back flankers. It meant basically the Cats were dominating clearances, and most of our possession was across half back. But I'll take the positive that Scharenberg is really improving rapidly.

What is going on?
Who did the players pre-season programme, which was focus on ball work from the gecko, rather than on the running and "mundane" fitness drills....is that idea now catching up with us? Players are going down like nine pins!!

Reckon it’s the opposite - too much training for too long. Richmond focussed on light training and just keeping everyone on the park and they have almost no injuries.

Hate to say it, but he looks a bit like another Blair to me too. A good competitor but nothing that stands out.

So with Howe out (most likely), we have lost our best intercept player. A season that looked so promising, has now turned into a nightmare in the space of a week. This club is either really unlucky or the management of players between games is really shite.
So we do a review on all areas of the club, including injury / player management to try and come to a reason as to why we have had so many injuries over the past few years. We get rid of Davoren, probably make adjustments to injury / player management etc. Now 8 rounds into the season, we have a horrid injury list, players twanging hammies all over the place, and the club comes out and says it has no idea why this is happening.
Like this crap has been going on for years and the club is still no clearer on how to fix it!!

Saints will roll us next week....We will be so many key players short, and at Etihad it all equals to the Saints doing a Carlton on us next week. The underdogs get up for a win!

I remember the club saying that they took the footys out from the start of preseason, rather than later, which was the norm before and they focused on ball work more. Something has gone seriously wrong here with the players fitness.

Yeah, considering all the possibilities rather than just ignore them is obviously flawed, my bad.
Moore going down is why we were short, it's why that argument just doesn't work. It's not really an argument your just stating the obvious.

And in both cases we also lost Broomy (GWS) and Phillips (Cats) so it could equally be more about loss of midfield run and subsequent impact on F50 delivery. You just choose to blame the lack of talls rather than consider all the options.

You have a point on Broomhead but Phillips was injured well into the third and our look up forward was still terrible with him on.

Boys against men yesterday

Seir wills greenwood maynard all must play asap
Appleby Brown Thomas Sidey stepho Moore all too slight, all too easily pushed of the ball ALL TOO QUICK TO DISPOSE OF THE BALL WITHOUT TAKING THE TACKLE

Umpiring and that is the game

Thomas and Sidebottom don't belong in that group.
