Changes for Saints

IN: Lovett, Winderlich, Lloyd
OUT: Neagle, Lonergan, Atkinson

Are you kidding? Don't bother posting this tripe.

You want to drop Neagle after him kicked successive bags of 3. He is our future and you want to drop even while he is playing well.

Atkinson took his opportunity with both hands......will be a guaranteed selection next week. And in my opinion should stay in the team.

In: Lovett (Winderlich, Lloyd if fit)
Out: Hocking (Longeran Hocking)

In: Lovett, Bellchambers/hooker Jetta
Out: Davey, Stanton, Hocking
Yeah I'm tempted to agree on that one. His disposal efficiency hasn't been great at all this year, and looking at the stats for the last game, with the exception of Pears (perfect 100%) the next best users of the pill were all fringe players like houli, atkinson, dyson (not quite a fringe, but definitely not a certain starter) and quinn!!

In : Lovett, Welsh,
Out : Dempsey, Quinn
Dempsey has been out of sorts for a while now and Atkinson did enough last night to suggest he can take his role.

PS : Not the biggest fan of Welsh coming in but we need experienced hard bodies against St Kilda.

Your bias is blinding you

Mr Automatic selection Mcveigh wad av's again tonight - simply not enough intensity....disgree ? Look at Atkinson playing his 6 game..that kid deserves another go.
The drive, the desperation, the smother. On this game alone he deserves another year IMO.

Injury dependent selctions.

Out: Mcveigh - scape goat. Obviously did not do enough with his talent. Plus we have mant guys that can run throufh there ATM.
in: Hooker. needed to' support Ryder & NLM inthe ruck..

I didn't realise Bellchambers was out reported this week, but why are we not bringing him in for support?

Was his best game last night for ages, was running back with the flight for the first time in a long time. Quinn was good as well. If neither played we wouldn't have been close.

WTF are you talking about? Davey is quick and aboriginal yet he should be dropped...

Davey has more x factor and we don't have a ready made replacement for him yet - although I could completely understand if he got dropped for Jetta.

Quinn was determinied and tried hard but he is nowhere near AFL ready (especially for a team trying to make finals).

Wow - CD ran back with the flight of the ball !!!!!
Should we award him the best and fairest now. One swallow doesn't make a summer.
He is barely having an impact and as he and Atkinson play basically the same role then its worth giving JA a chance for a game or two.

How was Quinn not at AFL level, he had 20 touches at 94% DE, his tap ons were creative and successful. Sure he tried to dance a little and was caught out, but how is that any worse than Fletcher turning it over from a kick out.

Why can't we play both Dempsey and JA? IMO adds a better structure to our top heavy backline.

Exactly what I was about to say, was just waiting for somebody to say 'his kicking isnt good enough' or has no awareness etc.

With Quinn its more not playing him against a team like St Kilda. I guarantee you, that if he plays next week he will get crucified and will not be playing the following week. IMO better to save him for a side like Fremantle as the Saints boys could destroy his confidence. His enthusiasm is fantastic and he will still be with us next year. No need to kill the kid in a game we need to win.

Look Dempsey was better last night but not by a hell of a lot and how he saved his spot after his effort against West Coast is a bit of a mystery. Maybe we already had too many outs.

Ins- Welsh, Jetta, Hooker

Outs- Davey, Hocking, ??

Simply put, Hooker needs to come into the side. He is the perfect player to play on Riewoldt, as shown earlier in the year. Pears isn't suited to Riewoldt, and we would want Fletcher to play closer to goal, rather than dragged up to the wings by Riewoldt.

Jetta has played consistently well for Bendigo for a long period now. Must be rewarded. Straight swap for Davey.

Welsh for Hocking.

Maybe, maybe not. He was better than half our players last night, don't know why it couldn't be the case next week.

If we are to maintain any chance of winning next week, we need to perform our game plan perfectly, the lack of run and carry has been obvious over the last few weeks and we need all the runners we can get.

Someone want to tell mey why Hocking is an out for a lot of you?
Played half back. Beat the players he was on when back there and had 15 disposals.
He was also thrid up for the spoil in the back half a number of times which is something we have lacked in the back half.
The only thing he did wrong was get run down once and one poor handball.
There where plenty of others who made simlar or more mistakes.

I would ask a few to have a look at Demspeys game. He was very loose for a half back.

I really dont know what some of you are watching.

I'm one who had him out, don't see him being part of our next push at a premiership.

Hocking has been run down far too often lately. I wouldn't mind if they played him forward of the ball as he can kick a good goal, but his lack of awareness and decision making has killed us in recent times.

Do you think he has much improvement left ant?

Out:
Pears (hammy), Quinn, Hocking.

In:
Daniher, Myers, Lovett.

If Winderlich and Lloyd are available, then they'll obviously be in for Daniher and Myers.. I think Lucas is done for the year.. Hurley = Permanent Half Forward.

For a start he hasnot been run down more than anyone else. Lets face it Stanton has also been run down a lot lately as have Lovett and Dempsey.
Secondly to say his lack of awareness and decison making has killed us is rubbish. Please do point out any game where he has made more mistakse than anyone else in the side ?
Last night Prismalls decision making killed us.
Houli also provided several poor options by hand.
The two weeks before it was Welsh who killed us with decision making.
Yes he does make a couple of mistakes every week but he does not make more than others and he also more than makes up for it with some very good work that sets up goals or inside 50's.
He has plenty of improvement left and secondly he is one of a few that does the team stuff that helps sides win premierships.
He has improved heaps from last year and will benifit from the games he has had this year.
How many others do you see pushing back to help the other defenders ?
If you watched last weeks game you would have seen him on the edge of the sceen blocking out one or two players so that a team mate can pick up the ball cleanly.

If he has one issue in recent weeks it is the fact that he seems to be getting the ball and slowing down looking for hanball options ( a problem that a lot of the team has at the moment). He needs to start backing himself to kick the ball rather than looking to dish off a handball.

He will always be on the edge of our best 22 becasue he is not a star but currently i would have him at half back in front of Dempsey simply becasue he knows where his man is and he pays his opponent the respect he deserves.

I am not sure if a few of you understand the concept that the best 22 as far as a tem goes is very rarely the best 22 ability wise on your list.
A lot seem to want their favourites or the hyped up players and you seem to highlight the 2 or 3 errors of blokes who you dont rate.

He has been run down from behind alot this year resulting in a turnover. Seems to lack awareness of what is coming up behind him.
