Changes for Season 2022

It's nice to read that we haven't thrown all the toys out of the cot hahahaha.

The people calling for a scorched earth approach to the club like North did, will be the same people sooking it up when we get a wooden spoon next year, and wanting a new coach blah blah blah. Next minute we are Carlton or worse, 2011/2012 Port again.

Motlop is probably gone, we'll try some more kids, but we aren't that far off.

Bassett has to go. Even when we got some momentum in parts of the 2nd and 3rd, we still couldnt manufacture a score. How easy is it to defend against us? Just flood numbers back behind the ball and we will bang it in for 10 mins straight for no score before you go to the other end in one motion and kick a goal.

I cbf talking about the coach because he will drain every cent he can out of the club.

But we don’t have a clear strength. We need better and more depth in midfield. Dawson is another flanker that won’t help this area.

Wines is A grade. Boak is sometimes, but def goes missing when it really matters. Drew is a trier, then it really falls away after that. Look at the depth of that dogs mid group. Bont McRae Libba Dunkley treloar hunter smith. Chalk and cheese

We can’t have such a heavy reliance on Boak and gray. At this stage of their careers they should be ‘icing on the top’ players.
Boak and Gray are managed ALL next year only play 15 games max next year. Play a max of 3 games in a row.

Absolutely. We have to transition to a freshened up midfield.

Same with Hayes, he has to be given games next year.

Watch Kenny wet the bed if we are just clinging to the 8 though.

Bergman more (inside) midfield time ?

This is going on just about the minimum possible data, but I did see him play midfield for a quarter in a game in the sanfl and he was impressive.

He won the ball in the square with his strength and burst out of congestion with it.

This will sound totally naff and it was only sanfl, but it was Judd-like.

A new coach might just try it and not pigeon-hole him as a floating defender.

Fully agree, his U18 highlights show a fair few Judd like centre clearances.

Hopefully adds a bit more size and strength going through his third preseason next year and can transition into a full time midfielder.

Have seen quite a few calls for Boak to be moved on - let's not forget that just a few weeks ago we were all jumping up and down about him not being included in the AA squad. He is far from the problem.

We have way too many flaky players in the 22 who are in there on the off chance that they might have a good game and be a match winner. Motlop, Marshall, Fantasia, SPP for starters. You can only carry so many of these types of players.

Time to stop building the forward line around Dixon as well and just accept that he is an average footballer with a big body. Not good enough.

Ken, Voss, Bassett, Koch all need to go.
