It's true though.

I'm sick of this attitude where we fear big games, resent expectation and wilt under pressure as a result.

"We can't bring a young player in, it's too big of a game."
"We can't bring him in yet, he's too young, he's not AFL ready and we don't want to burden him with expectation."

That kind of attitude is why we've been a team full of front runners who fall apart in big games.

At what point does Charlie's groin start to get concerning? It'd be a shame if this became a continually hampering thing for him.

Clearly I'm cynical about our coaching staff, but they have form in 'resting' young players for a week, and then ignoring them for a month.

Tell you what. I like the Marngrook footy show. But god they can get the facts wrong a lot. According to them we only just got over the line against the Kangaroos o_O:confused::rolleyes::drunk:
They watched a replay of last year's game & Pets last kick win...

Who said these quotes and when?

I genuinely can't be arsed even thinking about the game. Our coaching panel are so dumb it will be a miracle if we lose by anything less than 15 goals.
I know one thing for sure, I'm going to get there early, drink a lot of beers and hope I can't remember the rest.

Nobody. KE is making stuff up to suit his agenda.

The selectors have never worried about bringing players in for big games. LT is a classic example, being brought in for just his 2nd game for the 2012 semi-final.

As for them not selecting players who aren't ready - no club selects players who they don't think are up to the task, unless they are out of the finals race and experimenting with their list.

If it's wet I wouldn't actually drop Pods, big bodies with a bit of burst and pack crashing are very useful in the wet.
As long as he doesn't keep making his inside 50s up and under jokes that is.
Not a lot of poise for an experienced player.
I mean you have a 2 meter tall player that will beat any opponent over 40 meters, chip it somewhere near him. It's not that hard.

Porps was garbage last wet weather game.
You need tackling and defensive pressure in the wet and in this game more then any other and he simply can't do any of that. Just stupid to suggest him. I'd take Pods in every week if it kept Porps out.

It actually seems like Pods is a foil for Rutten not Tex, as he was absolute rubbish while Tex wasn't playing.

No way pods goes out.
Hesbeen in our best most games at adelaide oval
His work rate and tackling is brilliant and will be needed sunday. Sure he has dropped the odd mark but if ppl have followed his career he has always dropped a few sitters.
The treatment he gets round here is unwarranted

Personally I'll be pleased if Luke Thompson gets a gig and I won't be surprised if he gets a crack at the Hoff, has the size and athleticism to do a reasonable job, let's not forget he did play a lot of his junior/Geelong Falcons footy on a wing so obviously has more pace than some give him credit for.

He was one of the fastest at the club over 20m in that testing we did in pre-season and was also involved in the 5 man winning group that took out the strength and endurance competition we held as a club.

I really don't see why he hasn't received more opportunities, rather than been thrown into the fire when it comes finals time and everyone is injured. It really can't hurt to see what he does at AFL level over 5 or so games. If Hartigan has been given a chance, then I cant see why LT doesn't deserve to get one.

In saying that however, Im not sure LT will make the cut, will probably be emergency. Talia to Schultz and Otten to Westhoff. People complaining about Otten being on Westhoff seem to forget that Otten played as a tall midfielder pre-ACL.

Considering we already have the 3 talls in JJ, Walker and now Lynch and possibly + Danger upfront, Pods will probably be dropping back a lot to help out and will rotate from end to end as we see fit. I think lining up with only the 2 tall defenders given their forward line and the conditions is a perfectly reasonable decision to make.

Remind me again why Luke T came in for that game.

Guarantee you that kind of crap has been said by the Club, I'll find it later - if I can be arsed. Pretty obvious that it's the attitude though - actions speak louder than words.
