Changes for Showdown

Reading posters who say Lobbe needs to lift are assuming he can. His speed across the ground isn't going to improve
or his leaping ability. His taps to advantage are ordinary and his marking diabolical.
Forget his game v Collingwood coz he was hurt in the 1st minute. I don't count that against him at all but his season so far
has been . If 2015 ends up a disappointment then roll on 2016 and getting time into Frampton who is already faster
a better mark and a good kick who will only get better.
Glad to be wrong but not sure Lobbes or Big Red are our future answers and drafting of Dougal and Billy tells me the club
think so too.
If this post gets palmed off as personal my point has been missed. We need to be professional.
Lobbe will improve - he is obviously not 100% - get him off the leadership group please -
Frampton a better mark and kick? I cant remember Frampton getting a kick or a mark last week. He is years off AFL - its natural for us supporters to look at newcomers with rose coloured glasses but we seriously overrate our young depth.

Pittard being out is a blessing, does to many fluff ups. I like the thought of Hartlett taking over Pittards place and have Krak up forward. Jay needs to play more deep,I think this playing him up the ground has stuffed up his year. We need more than just Wines and Wingard carrying the team.

The fact that he's a defender is what brings these into stark focus. Every team has plenty of players who make turnovers, the only thing about defenders is there turnovers have an immediate result. What about Ebert v Carlton when Krak passed to him inside 50 and he dropped an easy mark. That directly cost a goal but I bet if one Port player had touched it no-one would have been blaming Ebert. And he gets blamed for things that are the fault of the entire defence, not just him. Everyone gets on him for slipping and gifting the Bulldogs a goal, no-one notices the fact that Hombsch handballed behind him, causing him to try to change his forward momentum. I am worried that Ken will have the defence go back into its shell now there is no Pittard, and this has always been our Achilles heel. If you just stand back and do nothing but defend against a boxer you will ultimately get beaten to a pulp and it is the same in football, they will end up scoring more than you.

Crazy isn't it, carlile, hartlett, monfries, ebert, Jonas, schulz, westhoff, pittard, impey, are the most notable ones who were vilified this year some even suggesting up for trade. Guys like moore, young, Mitchell, s gray come in for them; the thread for changes in the next week oh bring back player x who was dropped. It's just a cycle that goes round and round similar to the butch cycle. I think all of us as supporters are extremely frustrated that this year is not going anywhere near to plan after a massive build up and thus we target senior experienced payers who don't necessarily wear the teams entire performance. Clear example is hartlett who everyone wants traded/dropped every week even though he's had good numbers and one of the leaders in our tackles, even more relevant is schulz who just because he doesn't kick 5 every week should be dropped for a player who is nowhere near dominating the reserves.

Back to the changes topic what are peoples general consensus on neade and stewart? Paul's last game was pretty quiet after playing well the week prior. Neade's inclusion allowed monfries to play higher up the ground - wing and become that link up between the arcs.
I was one of if not the main culprit for requesting trades. I have no issues, with Bob, Pittard, Krak, Hammer, Hoff, Impey, young monfries etc etc.. They can at least kick the ball.

Brad Ebert is for some reason without really demanding it now known as a cult hero in our team. What on Earth has he ever really done at both the Eagles and Us. His kicking is absolutely shithouse, I have never seen any worse in my life. For some reason people still like the way he plays, for me he does nothing. Other teams also have this ridiculous notion that he is a good player, why not capitalise on that and bring in someone good, Ebo would have good trade value. Or alternatively learn how to ****ING kick!!!

Jonas well forget it. Too slow too dumb overrated and overachieved in a performing team last year. Also potential trade bait.

It's all well and good for Ebo to rack up 30 off possies per week, but **** me dead if 75% of those kicks are going to the opposition or out of bounds on the full then what bloody use is he.

ummm. Please stop.

Life without Pittard is worth a look. Less drive from defense, but perhaps fewer critical errors. Net gain or loss? It's marginal.

Krakouer = not as quick or fit, but has lateral movement that makes Jasper look like a Scalextric car.

Krakouer doesn't offer nearly as much defensively as Pittard, so we need to cover for that.

Jonas might come straight back in to be honest.

Nothing to do with taking the game on. His problem is he falls over at critical times or just freezes like a stunned rabbit on mixo

Trengove>Jenkins
Hombsch>Walker
Impey>Betts
Krakouer>Cameron
Clurey>Lynch
Broadbent>Knight/resting Dangerfield/douglas
O'shea spare

In:krakouer, young
out:stewart, pittard

Loving the match ups. Hombsch to blanket Walker, Trengove to show Jenkins how to compete and not be out-muscled, Impey to blanket Betts as much as possible, Krak to keep Cameron accountable going the other way and a good one-one match up, Clurey is a good match up for Lynch who likes to run and present up the field so Clurey with his elite running will be able to keep up. O'Shea and Broady to rotate as loose man based on match up and provide good rebound from 50. Very well balanced and matches up perfectly to Adelaide.

Did Jonas play last week? If so how did he go?
