Naming Palmer as an emergency is a nod of approval for a job well done so far.

Can be a good confidence boost. I reckon he's been pretty consistent for his age.

Fixed

Also - and this still annoys me to this day - I saw a guy at Bunnings wearing a home made jumper with CEY's face all over it with "I SAID YOOO MAN" in text.

After the third time walking past him (I had a jerkstore moment) I was about to ask him if his Jared Petrenko shirt was in the wash... but it was the Saturday morning after we lost to Geelong so I had keep it to myself.
so JPLOD to kick 5 then? Shouldn't we wait until AFTER the game to LOL?

Hello friends, I'm interested in your thoughts on Karl Amon. I really like him as a player and his story is fantastic but there were definitely a couple of occasions against the Pies where I felt he could've gone in a bit harder. Is he in much danger of losing his place in the 22? Would he make an ideal sub? Cheers.

I'm thinking he will be the sub and play the last quarter on the wing.

Agree - Palmer has a great physique for todays game - if only the super duper Port scientists would allow some growth!
I would give him a go in the midfield in the maggies - he looks (body wise) like a young Russell Ebert .. sacrilege I know

Palmer plays no role at all like any of those tall forwards you have mentioned. Plays a fair bit off half back pushing into the forward line and getting goals. For the old timers there's a bit of the young Trevor Sorrell about him. He's more likely to replace Monfries in the future than Schulz.

well no one would be like the old Trevor Sorrell, great man he is though.

Palmer will get a game this year he's not one of these skin and bones first year players, good build and just looks like a ready to go type.

Now there's a flashback! Sorrell played mainly forward but finished down back I think... didn't have the nastiness of his teammates but was pretty skilful.

I was thinking more of Casper as a tall half forward flanker rather than the full back he became. Old is so relative in football. ;)

Hey, Casper missed the 1981 grand final for a quick jab to the back of Ralphy Sewer's head and the words 'Ralphy you went from one bum club to another' that sent Sewer into such a whirling dervish of haymaker throwing anger he copped 3 matches and missed the Bays at the time latest humiliation against Port in the decider.

Sharp punch, sharp words. :D Still did the lap of honour at the end of the GF. :thumbsu:

I'm surprised many think there will be only one out. Given the game I would have thought Young offers a lot more than Amon.
I think the final team will be;
Out; Jasper, Carlos
In; Youngy, Krak.

I love your memories - perhaps I was too much influenced by my Dad, a Sturt supporter who always seemed to pick on Sorrell. Having a Sturt father during the late sixties/early seventies was not much fun.

I played cricket with him after he retired. Think he would have been 40-50 odd. Big man, hit the ball a long long way.

Houses at Rosewater oval were always in danger, even across the train tracks.

You poor bugger. That would need years of intensive psychotherapy to remedy. :p

JMP* is a significant out for us, it really surprises me that to this day people still don't rate him and believe he loses games for us off his own boot.

*Did you see what i did there, i thought I'd join in for fun.

The video does have me suspecting Jesse is in. Going to be disappointed if he isn't now for no other reason other than its nice seeing a fresh face out there.

At this point of our season I want to see Ah Chee get a full game, test out a key forward and see what a youngster can do in the big league.
