Changes for Showdown

In: Young, Colquhoun (he's far better than Amon)
Out: Stewart, Amon

For mine Krak isn't a chance. He wasn't dropped on form, he was dropped on fitness. He needs weeks in the SANFL with a focus on getting his GPS numbers up. As such I'm still surprised people haven't realised this and are trying to slot him in.

You know how you were pretty critical of Amon for a couple of squibbed efforts last night, we'll go back and watch the replay of last week's Sydney game and you'll see Colquhoun short stepping it to a few contests as well. Not quite as glaringly obvious as Amon's last night but they were there.
You can almost bet that Amon will be given a chance to redeem himself next week. He began to do just that in the second half.

Don't think any name was mentioned - it was a woman on triple M

Lol miss feel keeps calling paul stewart patrick stewart.

Im gonna be harsh I think... yes we won... but...

Out: Broadbent, Monfries, Schulz, O'Shea

In: Krak, Harvey/Shaw, Carlisle, Sammy C.

Reasons: Broady has been playing rabbit football the last few weeks, constant turnover then lets try and make up for me giving up a goal... enough is enough, have a spell. Monfries, sorry mate, but the under 18 would dominate you atm, the drug crap has to playing on his mind so give him a spell and try and work shit out. Schulz, has played shit all year, maybe injured, maybe not, but hey lets see what our future holds. O'Shea... Bobby is better sorry, and Clurey is the future... sorry.

Kark... why was he dropped? one of the best and consistent all season imo!, Harvey/Shaw... lets see what they have. Carlisle... Welcome back Bobby, Sammy C... if he is the replacement of Kornes... give him for than 2 games, seriously like what the F!
Dropping Fridge and Monfries after top shelf games? Ridiculous. In fact all the outs you named had very solid games. You're not Stephen Rowe are you?

Yes but that was no surprise , seen the Hoon do that at Sanfl level , Amon I haven't.

To be fair. We seem to drop Butcher whenever he plays a decent game.

I'd rather the Hoon play than Amon, but that's just personal preference. I really liked the structures we played last night, especially with Westhoff going into the midfield and actually throwing himself about, as opposed to being a sheila on the outside which nullifies him to just being a slightly better version of Jack Watts in that particular role. Not convinced Krakouer gets back for next week. Not sure we should be dropping anyone after winning in the way we did last night either.

I didn't mind Amon's game other than the well and truly over analysed failing to commit the body on a couple of occasions. This might sound totally outrageous but how about instead of dropping him the coaches tell him where to improve and give him a decent chance of improving straight away under AFL pressure rather than being back in the magoos.

I saw I few clangers and a few lost contests. Zero tackles. What did you see?

EDIT: when you say "watching", do you mean on TV? Because that would explain a lot.

He glaringly lost a particular one on one contest in which he engaged in a wrestle and chose poorly in his positioning. Cost us a goal.

What he did offer in lieu of his omitted teammate was more run, speed, better execution off both sides of the body and aggressive back line marking, particularly early.

And he's a 5 gamer... Thats what we like about him.

Yep.

Jonas has comprehensively lost plenty of contests this season costing us goals. I'm prepared to give Clurey a pass for one or two. He's currently the better option and should keep his place.

hmm ok had him in the team before he was in the team lol me, who goes out for him cause you'd think he'll be back this week ....clurey maybe ??

Trengove played last night.

Can't see Trengove rucking at all.

I agree, but why not? It's infuriating. He's won us several games by going into the ruck and jumping over a tired opposition ruckman's head in the last quarter.

Why have we totally ignored that as an option?

Is it just because he doesn't want to?

Suck it up. We need him in there.

The Jackson Trengove we all know and love was on display last night.
If Ken and the team requires Jackson to ruck at times during the game Jackson will not only ruck but dominate.

That's the rumour, I'd love him helping out in the ruck.

I'd like to see how we look with Ryder and Trengrove in the ruck.

In - Hoon, Bobby (if fit)

Out - Lobbe, Amon

For me Clurey is worth playing for the rest of the season. I would also keep O'shea in as I think he's one of these guys that plays better at AFL level than SANFL. Would look at dropping Amon for either Krack or hoon. Lobster looks cooked to me not sure what to do with him. Would like us to have more up front than just Wingard but there is little to bring in up forward. We are going to need more goals out of Jay this week

Seriously, GPS numbers? What are we the Portbots now? Krak has something that a lot of our other players (arguably with better "GPS numbers") do not have: class, composure and good kicking efficiency. By the same measure, are we going to drop half our team to learn how to kick in the SANFL too?

Have you watched Krak closely. He can't get to contests. He is out of position all the time. We play team defence and team forward structure and he negatively impacts that because we end up having to stuff him in a forward pocket so that he can make it through a game.

I love what the Krak is doing but he can't run, he's doing zero unrewarded running. Kraks clearly been dropped because the coaches would be able to see clearly in their figures what the astute fans can also see and that is that the Krak is just not able to keep up with the pace of AFL for 4 quarters.

So let me get this right , are you saying we play a bloke in poor form over one that's in form but less fit ?.
The Hoon was in good form and far better than Amon, plus across his career he has proven to be a far better player as he has a natural ability to find the pill, does way more effective running and is nowhere near as afraid to throw his body into the contest as Amon.
