Changes for Showdown

Lobbe is 200cm, weighs 97 kgs, has played 11 games in 2015 and has taken 17 marks.

Thats right, 17 marks. Surely, his role demands more than 1.5 marks per game?

100% agree, but I think they leave him in to double team Jacobs

don't get me wrong, I really like Lobbe but he needs to be more dominant in the air.

I would have thought 17 marks in 11 games isn't great.

actually, add to that, he took 29% of his season tally of marks against Carlton (he had 5 marks).

I sense that a few people are getting overly excited about O'Shea? He has been a massive disappointment in 2015 for me and played a half decent game last night.

I recall a poster saying once that he is elite at his strengths and he is below weak with his weaknesses. He'll need to string together 4 or 5 games together before I get excited.

Yes also very disappointing this year for mine but our stocks arent exactly deep in that area..Look at how often other big men in the league are used for that bailout kick to the ruckmen and you will realise how important they are for structure.

As I said earlier on the matter, it's almost strange and novel seeing Ryder take those bail out marks, because Lobbe very rarely holds them.

It's not that he's not strong or big bodied enough, he just can't catch the ball.

Every other ruckman in the league does it.

In: Young, Colquhoun (he's far better than Amon)
Out: Stewart, Amon

For mine Krak isn't a chance. He wasn't dropped on form, he was dropped on fitness. He needs weeks in the SANFL with a focus on getting his GPS numbers up. As such I'm still surprised people haven't realised this and are trying to slot him in.

Seriously, GPS numbers? What are we the Portbots now? Krak has something that a lot of our other players (arguably with better "GPS numbers") do not have: class, composure and good kicking efficiency. By the same measure, are we going to drop half our team to learn how to kick in the SANFL too?

So let me get this right , are you saying we play a bloke in poor form over one that's in form but less fit ?.

Broadband, Yonus and Amen.

**** me.
Haha Broadband - new nickname - The NBN.
Who called him Yonus - I saw a post the other day but cant remember which commentator said or wrote Yonus.

Nah mate. amon needs to go. Those contests last night were Lonie like.
Hopefully Krak or Hoon can put in a good performance tomorrow then.

Really like the carnage created by playing Lobbe and Ryder in the ruck contest around the ground - opened up space for our clearances in tight. Unless Lobbe's injury keeps him out I don't think we'd change that up.

Amon the only unforced for mine with Krak in as the sub.
