Changes for Showdown

Lobbe, as with Carlile, clearly isn't physically right.

It began with his week-to-week quad injury that ruled him out of our crucial game away to Freo late and hasn't improved at all. Now the club says it's his back?

It goes without saying when big guys are hampered they can be awful, given their whole schtick is using the size and strength to impact contests.

Brian Lake went from a crippled giraffe in his final year with the Scray to winning a Norm Smith Medal once he got his body right. We should scotch Matty, let him heal and give Paddy free reign a la his Essendon days, with Trengove and Westhoff giving him a capable chop-out.

I'd give Carlile the rest of his career off personally. Whether its injury, lack of effort, lack of mobiliy, hes never been reliable enough to play such an important position.

Austin is another Hombsch, get him in.
So you didn't see his game on Roughead in round 4? Completely rendered Roughy useless for the whole night. Once Bobby is fully fit, he's an automatic inclusion every week.

Clurey needs to stay in till the end of the season , he is the future not Bobby , and the Krak has got to be a better option than Amen !
I'd also like to see Clurey stay in the side, played well against Collingwood. Bobby is good defender though and I think some are understating his value to our club. O'Shea MUST stay in the side. He's so reliable, just doesn't get beaten and actually plays better at AFL level than he ever does at Sanfl level.
Krak hurts the oppo better with his possessions more than anyone outside the current 22. But he's omitting himself by not following the team rules/structures. It can't be a fitness thing with Krak, it's July, it's all mindset for him. He has to increase his desire to want to work hard all game and not 'save' himself during the game.

I think the weather will have a say on who is picked.

My only out is Amon, his performance was just ok and he didn't go hard enough.

In for me would be Young.

If Lobbe played for the Crows we would laugh at him. Sure there is only one Nic Nat
but the age of mobile big men who can mark is here and now. Last year he was touted as our MVP
because we had no backup for him. In the Collingwood game Lobbes was tunnelled in the 1st minute
so he was compromised and playing hurt but his 2015 form is just not good enough and by a long way.
Sure we have affection for our players coz we love our team but we're dreaming to think a big man
who cannot mark or run is part of our future.

I'm sorry but you are way off the mark, Bobby was very close to AA full back last year and up to his injury this year has been very good.

He is our only defender that can play on the monsters, I belive he has had a bad back for a wile now, get him right before bringing him back would be the answer.

Lobbe ain't right but he's never been a marking big man what he was doing last year outside of his ruck work was being very competitive at ground level almost like giant mid... if he needs a break do it but don't write the big fella off.

After watching the SANFL game yesterday, I'd go with an unchanged lineup.

However, when asked about Yonus in his presser on Thursday, Kenny mentioned about him having that week off, similar to Broadband earlier this season.
It sounded to me like Yonus might be back this week.

I am sure you are talking about Yanus, right?

Hate to say it but it wouldn't surprise me maybe throw S Gray and K Mitchell in as well

Geez if Aristotle Acropolis ( aka Tommy Yonas ) gets a gig next week without any form to back it up that would have to evoke my biggest o_O moment since joining the site early last year.

The back 6 looked the best it has for weeks last thurs nite, Carlile ( if fully fit ) yes, but surely TJ either needs an extended break to fix any injury problems, or at least a couple of games with the Maggies before he could be seriously be considered for a return to the Power lineup.

My hope is that we play with the same hardness and desperation as we did against the pies.
We need this win ... no surrender

We made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

Now young faces grow sad and old and hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home across the open yards
Well maybe we could cut someplace of our own
With these drums and these guitars

I just hope for minimal change...

Lobbe seems to injured bring in kraks and its and it looks much better..

Amon sub ànd achee full game...

And honestly i can settle on that 22 for a while

Not good. We'll struggle with their forward line. Crows will win by 10 goals plus next week.

Really?

For me, the Crows forward line is very overrated. Against a quick moving defense, Tex Walker, as much as I like him and reckon he would be great to have a beer with, can be made to look extremely slow and ineffective, especially away from the forward 50 arc where he is very uncomfortable (just like Bobby is) - refer the bulldogs game where they lost by 10 goals as an example. The key to the Crows forward line is Eddie Betts, all other forward players can be held and exposed with the right game plan.

Lobbe was a tackling machine last year, this year he looks like he's afraid to break a nail. Something is up with his fitness, he needs a rest. He's a liability if he can't take a mark or lay a tackle.

It's really out of character for him too which makes me believe he's trying to play through injury, which is frustrating because at his healthiest he's a beast. We need that beast back.

bring.in.krack daddy

I think we have to take Kenny's word as gospel re Krak.

Kenny has said that his recovery is letting the team down, we probably can't pick it on tv or at AO but with all their tech heads in the box these days, it must be true. Looks like 2016 will be Kraks year as a regular.

Agree, something is up - I can't see who we could bring up to replace him though?

His centre work hasn't been bad at all, it's his around the ground work which has been disappointing.
