Changes for Showdown

Podsiadly a potential in for Adelaide brings back happy memories from the first showdown last year.

Given that we're missing Carlile, the inclusion of Pods seems to be the football equivalent of a parliamentary pair.

CEY is a jet, his body of work this year has been outstanding. In the context of the ageing Thomson he could be a seamless swap (long-term), especially if given games in lieu of Van Berlo and the troubles of the Crouch brothers. (mid-term)

I also rate Sam Shaw, he was sensational off half-back in 2013.

With Pittard out, I'm totally disinterested

The club is getting uncharacteristically excited for a first year player getting named in the emergencies. He hasn't been named in the 22 yet. They're pumping Jesse up all over social media...is it possible? Stranger things have happened this year.

There wasn't this much excitement when amon and shaw were listed as emergencies. Probably won't happen but pretty strange.

The crows should have dropped every player that went on the Port brotherhood dinner, not just CEY. Especially that Betts guy, I heard he enjoyed the Port players' company way too much. ;)

PStew listed at HBF. ****ing fist pump time. About time we played him where he is suited.

Oh, also the emergency listing and maybe game day preparation will be great for Palmer. If we lose this I'd expect him to debut this year.

I am also of the belief that Jesse Palmer being named is a token gesture; a motivator for him to stay in good form. However, I find it strange that the club would go to the effort of compiling and uploading the following video if that were the case.

If he does debut, good luck to him! If what we have seen from him so far is any indication, he will be around for quite a few years.

Hes basically an Angus Monfries type forward, back when he could get shots on goal. Slow-ish but smart and a strong mark. Skills are just ok like Monfries.

He seems a little more like AhChee if Footywire is to be believed - that's excellent

Where players are named on a Thursday night, virtually has no relevance at all as to what position they'll actually play.

Assuming Monfries is ok, I reckon Palmer will get a game if and only if Lobbe is a late withdrawal. Not for his rucking skills, obviously, but to provide another running/mobile target up forward if Ryder has to spend most of his time rucking. Sounds like the running/mobile bit is still the knock on Harvey.

Crows: IN JPLOD (yes!), <generic Crow x 4>
OUT: Nathan VanBerlol, Cam Ellis-Lolmen

Fixed

Also - and this still annoys me to this day - I saw a guy at Bunnings wearing a home made jumper with CEY's face all over it with "I SAID YOOO MAN" in text.

After the third time walking past him (I had a jerkstore moment) I was about to ask him if his Jared Petrenko shirt was in the wash... but it was the Saturday morning after we lost to Geelong so I had keep it to myself.

Wouldnt surprise to see Amon out, and have Palmer come in and take the bench spot

Lyons and either Martin or Atkins will be their ins. I really rate Lyons, is slow but is a clearance machine who can also play as a forward

Hello friends, I'm interested in your thoughts on Karl Amon. I really like him as a player and his story is fantastic but there were definitely a couple of occasions against the Pies where I felt he could've gone in a bit harder. Is he in much danger of losing his place in the 22? Would he make an ideal sub? Cheers.
