Changes for Showdown

Hello friends, I'm interested in your thoughts on Karl Amon. I really like him as a player and his story is fantastic but there were definitely a couple of occasions against the Pies where I felt he could've gone in a bit harder. Is he in much danger of losing his place in the 22? Would he make an ideal sub? Cheers.

Definitely was soft and a little slow at times too. But is generally uncharacteristic so hopefully a one off

I see Krak being sub, Lobbe playing and being subbed out early.

Palmer's inclusion must mean someone is 50/50? Neade or Monfries could be a withdrawal?
Monfries would be the more obvious replacement. Monfries has been doing his job all year (despite nuff nuff's thinking otherwise), but it'd be so Port 2015 if he was a withdrawal with an injury after probably his best game for the year.

Yeah, R_Gray_Jnr_Jnr smells.
so your happy with Ebo? honest opinion, what does he bring to the team?

Every single time he gets the ball once we mount an attack, I just think well that attack was looking ok. Time to prepare for the rebound. EVERY SINGLE TIME. enough is enough. And well Jonas, if he has played through OP well our medical staff is stupid, but if he isn't injured well his performances this year have been embarrassing!

I probably didn't use the word "well" enough in that last sentence there. Oh well.

If we delisted or traded every player who has had an average season, we would have no players left.

If we were simply to drop certain players - let's use Ebert as an example - who comes in for him? Who offers more to the team than him?

Our performances this year have been frustrating, but be realistic.

Young for Amon is fair after Amon's efforts last weekend, but it does leave me wondering where our outside run is gonna come from. Pittard, Polec, White, Amon, Colquhoun and Mitchell all out.

The changes are pretty good this week.

Amon will have learnt a lot from the past few weeks, time to go back and work on some other aspects of his game.. go back and smash it son.

Wouldn't have dropped Karlos.

I'm not surprised we dropped Amon at all. Defensively he wasn't up to scratch last week. That being said, I'm not sure where our run is going to come from this week. Thought if we dropped Amon we'd bring in Colquhoun.

Expecting Young to be the sub. Arch deserves a full game and Young has shown on multiple occasions that he is the best "sub" on this team.

i like amon, but he deserved to be dropped. young should consider himeself very lucky to get another shot, needs to take it.

I can agree with your comments with regards to Thomas Jonas. He was a BEAST last year, "THE GLOVE" but this year not to much. Therefore drop him to gain confidence and rest his injury. Bring him back when he is 100%.

Ebert on the other hand has never been a beast. He is not creative. His decision making is just wow ridiculous at best. We can do better. I'm not asking for a Fyfe or Pendlebury performance form him because he will NEVER be that good. But for crying out loud, hit a target mate!

Outside run isn't a huge strength for Adelaide though, we'll be fine

He also said that Karl will be a good player for Port and has to learn a bit more team wise...
Yep, it's also a positive to send him the message early in his career that it won't be tolerated.

Go watch rd 23 2013 v Carlton in the PB's or our first encounter with Sydney last year. Or in fact any of his first 5 games this season (and last) then come back and type that with a straight face mate.

I'm far from an Ebert fan but he has a beast mode I haven't seen in many players at all. he does seem to have troughs where he exhibits every single one of the reasons the team isn't playing well but saying that, he's not droppable let alone tradeable.

Run bah! We will suck all the play into contests and crush it like a black (white and teal) hole.
