It's about time someone put their hands up and say, we run cricket in Australia and the buck stops with us.
So, this should be their team for the 3rd Test.

D. Warner
J. Burns
U. Kwawaja
S. Smith
A. Voges
C. Ferguson
P. Nevill
J. mennie
M. Starc
J. Hazlewood
N. Lyon

I wouldn't worry about it mate, it's not going to happen. He may help improve the side though if the selectors feel his keeping has actually improved, he has strong character and a fair bit of campaigner about him.
He's definitely got some campaigner about him and our team could use that... He's keeping was woeful last time round. People say it's improved but it needed substantial improvement.

He's about as good as batsmen as those pushing for a spot.

Anyone seen the vision of the Sth African skipper chewing on a mint and then sticking his finger deep into his mouth and then applying it to the ball? Rather damning. Also Du Plessis was fined in 2013 for ball tampering.

White as a bowler? How many overs has he bowled in the last 5 years?
No, as a batsman. Best performed batsman in Australia atm. If we aren't going to reward Sheffield Shield performances, why have a Sheffield Shield comp at all?

I mentioned that earlier.

The sad thing is the team they put out for the third test will have as much chance of success this one.
Michael Vaughn was wrong. Australian cricket hasn't hit rock bottom - yet.
Don't let any of these players sneak off without one last chance of proving they are slightly better than spineless jellies.
Then, for the next series against Pakistan, shake the whole house down.
This team should have a chance to become the worst Australian Test Team at home in over 100 years, after all they've earn't it.

I'd like to see TBS brought in, I don't care about his red ball record, the man's a natural cricketer, can make quick runs-bowl and field, I reckon he'll come good in the longer form eventually.

Sayers just has to come in for this test, this shit about he doesn't bowl fast enough is absolute crap he sends them down at the same speed Philander does.

He's a much better option that Joe "I was picked for my batting" Mennie!

We've still got a tour of India to go. Things could get a lot worse.

Also I think it's harsh just blaming the players. Yes they are the ones in they middle, but the system is broken. They aren't broken in hoe they should be.

Too much emphasis on junior cricket. Futures league is not working. I've never been a fan of the FL. U/17s and U/19's should be seen as talent identification and reward for youngsters. It's basically the main pathway to shield and beyond now.

It should be like the AFL draft. Spot the talent. Try nurture it. But if you can't perform then no one gives a **** who was the #7 pick four years ago. Same as cricket - no one gives a **** you once played NSW U/19s.

Pitches in club level are too batsmen friendly. This absolutely has to change.

And piss off with all this sports science shit. We've never had more injuries since this worked it's way into cricket. Snake oil if I've ever seen it.

Scheduling - tests, odi, t20 need to be as much inline with the domestic season as possible. There are some unfortunate commercial restraints work within. The most obvious change is start shield when the domestic one day competition is on. 3-4 rounds of shield before the first test. Domestic one dayers on after the Sydney test when we are playing odi's. That alone would be a huge improvement.

The guys out in the middle are on a hiding to nothing. IMO they've been set up to fail by a system that has become more interested in marketing than cricket.

This storm has been brewing for a while. It probably would've come last year but the west indies are shit and new Zealand (who are a good team) just did not show up.

Yeah someone rang into Sen and mentioned it on kbs show

I don't get you pumping up Bailey but then saying a bloke who has averaged 50 for 2 and a bit Shield seasons shouldn't get many more chances.

Bailey has been tried and tested at Test level and failed. His technique won't handle good Test bowling.

Would be better off bringing in a performing youngster like Handscomb or Patterson.

Hes completely changed his technique hasn't he? Instead of facing the bowler, he faces the point fieldsman who cant bowl anywhere near as well.

At 34 though is he really the bloke to replace Voges? At least Ferg has an extra couple of years and extended Shield form to be selected on, but I don't want a middle order full of low-mid 30 year olds.

If FAF has cheated, can we appeal, get the win, go over to Adelaide 1 all, win there, and take out the series?

What's the point of debuting a 23 year old to keep the seat warm? You might as well just play Burns again seeing as he's an injury replacement anyway.

The Voges experiment was mostly a failure, the last thing we need to do is do the same with with Bailey who a) has proven he's not up to it and b) has a worse record then Voges in the Shield.
Because it exposes him to Test cricket without the immediate pressure of his international career being on the line. Could set him up for the future. Burns is cooked, needs to go back to the middle order for Queensland.

Took me a while to work out what a TBS was.

His red ball record is quite good actually, probably better than most we are looking at.

The question is, do we want him coming in after we have just lost 4 for FA? He looked very steady in his last Shield game, making 80 odd of almost 140 balls. I'd like to see a lot more innings like that one before he's picked but I can see the selectors having a good look at him.

We are not going to bring Burns in for one match and then bring Bancroft in for one match.

Especially when Bancroft is averaging 17 this year.

Anything is possible they thought Mennie was test standard somehow

Voges and Mennie have to go for the Adelaide test. I don't think they will make more than two changes.

I'd persist with Burns for even the rest of the summer given his age. Neville stays in but only just. Lyon gets one more.

Ferguson survives only because he has had just the one test. He should never have got in the team but now he is in may as well give him one more.

Performances in this week ends shield games will perhaps decide the make up of the 3rd test team.Good to see the the Victorians who always have a full strength shield team because the Australian selectors strangely do not rate their players playing against a NSW team with Smith,Warner,Neville and Lyon in the side.
