Maybe so but there is plenty of turn and they are world class bowlers playing first class cricket. Will be I teresti g to see how Holland goes on the same deck.

More to being a spinner than just turning the ball. Pitch might mean it's slow turn with not alot of bounce hence it's easy to play.

If Shaun Marsh, Voges & Siddle are out.

1. Travis Dean
2. David Warner
3. Usman Khawaja
4. Steve Smith
5. Glenn Maxwell/Nic Maddinson
6. Peter Handscomb
7. Peter Nevill
8. Mitchell Starc
9. Josh Hazlewood
10. Joe Mennie
11. Nathan Lyon

It's an obscure team but i'd like to see it

I guess they could play Dean/Renshaw and if one of them gets runs you could move Marsh down the order when he comes back for Ferguson if he fails again. Ferguson probably deserves the whole summer but I doubt he'll get it if he fails in the next Test.

Looks good, just Sayers for Mennie.

Even if they don't go for handscome this time he must be a certainty for the India tour, one of the better players of spin going around.

Just watched Voges get hit with that bouncer. He picked it up oh so late. To me you're gone once that starts to happen at his age. I'm not going to bag him because he's essentially struggling due to age, not his fault, we all get old, but I'll sure bag the selectors if they pick him again.

If S.Marsh is fit
1. S.Marsh
2. Warner
3. Khawaja
4. Smith

Pretty happy that's our best top 4

5. Handscomb - in for Voges, who is out of form and now unfortunately hurt
6. Ferguson
7. Nevill
8. Starc
9. Hazelwood
10. Sayers
11. Lyon

Sayers, S.Marsh, Handscomb for Voges, Burns and Mennie. If S.Marsh isn't fit, I'd like to see a youngster come in for a taste.

I am now terrified that they'll select Zampa for the next test.

Even with a few wickets today, he still went for way too many runs, and his career FC figures are still trash - 49.36 average, 71.40 strike rate, 4.14 economy rate.

Would definitely get the Tahir treatment, and then some, at Test level.

I felt so sorry for Ponting and Quiney during that game. They copped the only couple of good balls in the innings....while everyone else got a tasty diet of waist-high full bungers outside leg stump from Tahir....

That pair of globes from Quiney was the best you will ever see.

No more odd than Starc and Hazlewood not playing for NSW either. I assume they're all being rested and will be playing the 3rd Test.

Hmm I'd have thought Starc and Hazlewood are considerably ahead of Mennie as far as being certainties for the next Test. Being his home deck though, they must be quite confident of him doing well.

Handscomb, Dean and Renshaw certainly did their causes no harm at all.

Poor old Burns......LPNO1 must have been overjoyed.....

Not really, the selectors somehow gifted him the last test when every single bloke said the same thing- hadn't scored enough to justify a recall
