Thirteen man squad anybody?

I don't think there's any doubt they'll pick 4 quicks and 2 spinners and delay the decision til later in the week.

A fair bit of mail around that Wade will replace Neville. I can see the reasoning behind, especially if we are to have a brand new 6 and 7, but am a little surprised at the same time.
i dont mind Wade getting a go...provided it isnt an excuse to play Mitch Marsh or Henriques or some other shitty all-rounder. we need the stability in the middle order.

Wade got moved up and down the batting and never really had a chance to settle and was crucified in the media for every mistake he made.
conversely people seem to be falling over themselves to make excuses for Nevill. Wade may not be the best gloveman in the country but i dont think Nevill is either.

I think we are zero chance to play an all rounder. Clearly none of them are at test standard. Too many promisingly young batsmen around at the moment to ignore them.

that hasnt stopped them before. i recall Henriques batting at 5, Maxwell batting at 3 and Mitch Marsh played how many tests?
remember they want to be able to get overs out of someone in the top 6 (or at least the old selection panel did)

but yeah, i reckon you're right. pretty sure we'll go with 6 batsmen.

It's a shame that we don't have 1, let alone 2 good quality spin bowlers. If we did I would be really comfortable playing Wade at 6, Faulkner at 7, 2 spinners and Hazelwood and Starc. Shame Agar was injured - I might've even been comfortable with Wade at 6, Faulkner 7 and Agar 8 (then 3 quicks).

That said, Whiteman's batting form is well-timed. I think he might be a little stiff that he doesn't even seem in consideration.

plenty of talk that patterson, handscomb, wade, bird all play. possibly renshaw too
im not sold on Renshaw and if Mennie was our 3rd best quick last week then i reckon he's still our 3rd best now.
...but **** it, why not.

they cant do any worse can they?

If we're looking to change the third paceman (which I doubt we will, if Mennie has been rested from Shield), what puts Jackson Bird ahead of Chris Tremain at the moment?
Bird's carrying Tassie arm.
