Maddinson and Wade selections annoy me. Nevill did nothing wrong and i loved his innings in the first test. Maddinson annoys me because a few boys should have been picked ahead of him. Got a great gut feel about renshaw though

Missed a stumping and made no runs.

The reality of the situation is you won't keep your spot as a keeper these days averaging 22 after 17 Tests.

the Sheild match started just a couple of days after the test, that could have played a part. He also pulled out of a match on the weekend due to foot soreness.

Played in First Grade in Adelaide. Got injured.

You almost lost me at Travis Head than I fully switched off at Bailey. I love George as much as the next guy but his time is passed as a test batsman.

That may be true, but he's still a better choice than Maddinson.

Has anyone here actually watched Wade keep regularly of late?

Even as a bit of a fan of his I know he was dog shit with the gloves first time around, but that was a fair while ago.

It is not that strange for players to improve aspects of their game - in his more successful cricketing venture as a player, Rod Marsh was called Iron Gloves initially before turning into a great stumper.

I don't think it would hurt giving Wade a crack in a dead rubber. Maddinson over Patterson however is another level of crazy.

They gave Renshaw a crack and he's only been in the system for a couple of years and Maddinson is only a year older than Patterson.

Having a hard time deciding which one of Sayers and Bird gets into the team. Leaning towards Sayers purely because it's his home deck and he will get the pink ball to swing a bit more the Bird.

Don't understand the pick of Wade. With the Indian tour coming up shortly, you can't seriously have Wade there. If he drops Kohli, Pujara etc. then it sets up the whole mood of the series, ala Haddin dropping Root

They were never going to pick anyone else once they decided to drop Nevill. Not exactly spoilt for choice in the keeping dept.

Patterson has to feel hard done by.

Not sure Wade will really be much of an improvement on Nevill, but the latter had plenty of chances to cement his place. If Wade doesn't perform I hope he doesn't go to India though. His glovework over there will be painful.

Funnily enough, Wade has probably got as much of a claim to a pure batting position as Maddinson. It's when be puts the gloves on that people get nervous.

And Wade could actually be a handy part time seamer...
