Changes for the 3rd Test

What happened to Tait? He had makings of a very destructive bowler. Was his body incapable of the rigours of Test cricket or was the lure of bowler for hire in lucrative but pointless t20 comps too enticing?

He was lazy, and his action only let him bowl really fast for 4 overs anyway. So all of the above I suppose. He was good to watch though for about 15-20 deliveries.

Thing is, if we were making 300+ scores more regularly, then you can carry him easier than if we are 5-50 all the time.
You're happier to take his odd decent score on the basis his keeping is better than most.

The fact we are struggling means we have to look for a keeper that has to make big scores more regularly to compensate.

Even if we were 5-0 and averaging 500 an innings he deserves to be dropped.

Whatever way you cut it, there is no way Wade's batting is that good to make up for his keeping mistakes.

I said Wade's batting isn't good enough to make up for his failures as a keeper.

Hypothetical situation: The batsmen gets his average of 40 runs, then a dropped catch happens, lets say the batter then accumulates another 40 runs (a bit under but l will use it as an average). So that would mean the batsmen now has 80 runs to his name. If Wade drops 1 catch every innings, is he going to get 80 runs every innings to make up for his drops... no he isn't. His average is 34.

Jackson Bird is a swing bowler

I've always thought of Bird as a McGrath type, not much swing if any but bowls a consisted line and length and gets movement off the seam.

Yes but you replied to my post saying Nevill has one of the worst batting records for a keeper in 20 years saying Wade's record wasn't much better.

Wade dropping 1 catch per innings is also complete hyperbole and assumes Nevill is faultless (he is not).
